Customers of extreme wealth have come to expect more from their purchases. Three-floor bedroom suite? Mobile home gym and spa? Helicopter pad and hangar? Submarine garage? Big as they are, there’s only so much you can fit in a Rolls-Royce. So the revered British marque has teamed up with renowned shipyard Palmer Johnson on what could be the ultimate globe-trotting mega yacht the world has seen yet.

With 82 meters (267 ft) fore to aft and six decks of living space, the PJ World Yacht packs all the features we listed above and then some. It’s even got an anti-piracy system – we’re talking about real pirates, not copying DVDs here – and an environmentally-friendly diesel-electric propulsion system. At the moment, this Ice Class cruiser – enabled by Palmer Johnson’s acquisition of Noway’s Flekkefjord & Slipp shipyard – is just a concept, but at this level, all it takes is one wealthy customer to turn the idea into reality. And something tells us that customer already has a Rolls-Royce or two in the garage.

    Thank you for your powerful and moving tribute to Michael Jackson on today’s Huffingtonpost. I like to believe he can hear your thoughts, even as he now graces “the biggest stage of all”.

    I wanted to share a song written in tribute to a talented songwriter-performer up here (in Maine), who was just making that transition from unknown barroom entertainer to a recognized artist when, for some reason, he ended his life in an obscure motel room. He was only in his twenties.

    I knew this artist from sharing a stage with him (a Summer fundraising concert). I remember being stunned that such a brilliant young talent, so upbeat, could be vulnerable to so much pain.

    The resulting song, “Sam, The Singer” is my wife’s favorite, from all my years as a songwriter and performer. I offer the song in tribute both to Michael Jackson, the supreme, and most divinely gifted creative artist to have graced our lives, and also in tribute to the thousands of “Sam, The Singers”, who do their best to make a contribution …. and somehow share a common suffering of the soul.

  7. That figures, millionaires and billionaires are looking for new ways to flaunt and spend money. Though mega yachts have been looking like this for minute. It’s just now starting to hit the mass. Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) for example has a over 400 foot yacht (Octopus) that includes 59 foot speed boat, swimming pool, b-ball court, music studio and not to mention a submarine. Guest of the yacht say the submarine has technical malfunctions. Allen paid $250 million for this yacht, and imagine it’s too big to dock in most ports and has to dock by rusty container ship and sky cranes. On another lavish note. Some Saudi have boats that hold cars, motorcycles, jet skis, and etc. Boat yards are even developing a trailer of sorts to tie to the mega yachts. These trailer will tote the extra toys, such as cars and smaller boats. This way the mega yacht can still have all the functions and lavish living, without compromising space. Like you would need more space on a 3-6 level story yacht.

  9. JD you have to see this MEGA YACHT, I see it everyday here in Mallorca, Spain from a distance but is the size of a NAVY CRUISER almost in fact it swallows the LADY MAURA which is here also. ROMAN ABRANAVICH the owner CHELSEA soccer team in the UK. Bill Gates partner has a BIG ASS YACHT the new thing now is the yacht that looks like a submarine in the front with a twin hull. It looks really sleek on the water. The marina’s and anchorages are full bro!! Coming from Atlanta and now living around this shit is a dream in itself, life is good bro. Waiting on LTL and FUCK ELVIS MAN!!
