I understand your points but let me say a few things. I never hated JD I have supported him his whole career, we had our differences which we found out was a misunderstanding but I highly respect that brother.

I grew up in a mostly white neighborhood and went to a fine arts middle and high school. (Rules of a magnet school…45% white, 45% black 10% other) I am comfortable with everybody and grew up on the Bon Jovi’s, Lenard Skinnard, and Guns and Roses. This is one of the main reasons why I picked Morehouse as my college. Going to school with nothing but black people totally takes out the whole racial card.

The point that I was making is when are we going to start supporting our own? JD has accomplished one thing in his life that I respect more then anything else and that is being able to employee others (particularly black men) (I don’t know whats up with the studio guy, but then again, he is black too LOL)
If you live in Atlanta like I do, how many brothers that you know have got caught with some weed and have went to jail but once they got out they can’t find a job? Why because who is hiring? No body is perfect and we all make mistakes but if you look at the numbers, a black college graduate makes less then a white person with a high school diploma. It is what it is. Now I work everyday and realize that I am blessed to be able to do so but how about if I was the one with that weed charge? It will be a lot harder to get a job. My point is that I am trying to get myself to the point that I can hire about 5 or 10 of these brothers so they will have an opportunity to take care of their families. You can’t do that if you don’t have your own company which is my goal. This goes back to the whole trickle down thing. In these big companies that we are spending so much money with who is making the real money in those companies? If you look at all of these clothing companies Like BAPES who JD talks about all the time, get their executive list to see who is making the real money in those companies. They might hire some black people but more often then not they are in positions with low glass ceilings.

I got an answer for you bro…It’s called the family structure. You can’t look at the present and look towards the future without looking at the past. Every other race of people can come to America and do great but the one thing they all have in common is that their family unit stays in tact. The man woman and child. When they took the man out of the black family we have never recovered from that. Once in slavery and again when they implemented warfare. People say what you want and you will always have expectations, but having both parents in your left give you a major advantage and a whole different out look on life. How many black single women do you see in Atlanta? How many women do you see at the barber shops on Saturdays by themselves. How many kids do we see to women that are not married in our community?

@ Spock you have struck a nerve , both of my parents did not know their father so your family structure theory is valid and very right . They only got married because of me so you know this is a recipe fo disaster. My dad was incapable of being a father to me because of his fucked up childhood. I knew that he loved me and this was enough for me , my mom rolled out when I was 8yrs old she is from Honduras and she did not care for the south and she was a bit loose so they divorced and my dad got custody of me. It never dawned on me that i did not have parents untl that first homecoming game in college and i was the only one of my friends that di not have family there. I played football and was good so had company just not my family. My dad died at 47 in 91, i have tried to make sense of it all and i have asked my grandmom who was my dad’s dad. it has caused a riff between us and her kids because they feel I am wrong for asking this ?? But to me it is my right to know, it was a bad experiance for her I suppose and she does not care to rehash this.My ? to her was if it was so bad that you cannot speak of it how in the world do you love me when I am a direct result of this!! I have 6 brother’s and sister’s , five of them live in the A , I have a relationship with 4 of them and one i only saw when he was 2weeks old. My other sister lives in bmore and she is the same age as me , I told you i need to write a fucking book. Actually my two younger brother’s are the same age also. My dad was a good guy just did not have a chance the start his step dad abused him physically and mentally from the age of 5. I chose my college alone with no input from anyone , stupid me i chose a black school over U PENN how dumb was that.
