Bearbrick Specials For Taipei Toy Festival 2009 | Toki Doki And Jimmy Liao

For the Taipei Toy Festival 2009 Medicom has released two limited edition Bearbricks. Medicom worked with Toki Doki on a special TTF 2009 100% Bearbrick, featuring an all-over character design of the brand. Furthermore they worked with Taiwanese artist Jimmy Liao on a 100% Bearbrick. Both toys have been released over the weekend.

  4. It’s kinda crazy, this makes me think of collecting. As in, those fellows who probably get made fun of alot for having what seem to be alot of TOYS but are really collectors’ items such as Anime, Marvel or DC story models. Even model cars boats and planes come to mind with this image. As funny as all of that may seem to many, collecting is a real serious… ENTERPRISE really! Seriously, think about it: You have the manufacturers who make them in a specific and meticulous way, and then they release them in an even more specific or meticulous way, knowing that not just ANYONE is going to have an appreciation or commercial thirst for it. Then the people who are purchasing have to – at some degree – always chase down the vendors or venues at which the models are being sold. There’s an entire distinguished art to it, and I respect that. I’m gonna find my collector’s nich one day, start developing that artform of looking for and finding some items! Be breezy…
