  3. Damn!!!!!!!!!! That is crazy. I think it will re-surface next year. $$$$$$$$$$$ is killing consumers. More time is needed. Next summer; things will be almost back to normal. Gas will be down! And thats always good.

The US must Have more faith in our president.

Having Patients is hard to do; but having faith means it can happen. Be and stay positive and watch your dreams come true.

  4. Michael Jackson Fans have taken over the Apollo Theatre in Harlem USA! They are having a Memorial Service from 2 – 8PM TODAY! If you are in the NYC Area … Please stop by and show some LOVE!

  5. Crazy. The end of an era.

  6. damn damn damn two black magazines in 1 year

  7. This is crazy. Darkaqua33 is right about print media disappearing. It’s sad because I love collecting newspapers and magazines. It won’t be the same online.

  8. VIBE Gone??? Say it ain’t so, what a powerful mag that has had such an impact on the print world. They always had interesting articles and great interview features! Not to mention some great covers!!!!! VIBE has all my favorite Janet interviews and pics!

  9. Hearing this news just re-enforces the ever evolving tragedy within Black Media.

A publication of this stature and size was guilty of one thing, not keeping up with the changing media platforms. Even with the recession and declining print media ad spend, Vibe was in a unique position to capitalize on its broad base, however, like many of their counterparts, they chose a different path. A path that did not expand its reach beyond their print borders to other platforms enabling them to re-connect with life long readers and encourage new subscriber base.

It was sad when Vibe was sold to a private equity firm and its even more sad to hear that they are going to cease operations. A movement has to start now or Black Media as we know it may become extinct. Next on the clock is Radio One unfortunately, they are burden with a heavy debt load, variety of media outlets that are bleeding red, and a struggling TV Network joint venture. When Radio one had access to some free capital they chose to buy Blackplanet.com instead of paying down their debt. Poor decision making such as this examples shows and a stock price under $1.00, it is now only a matter of time before the closed sign is turned on for them.

  10. Sorry to see such a good magazine go. I grew up reading Vibe. I wonder if the website will still be kept up?

  11. Damn this sucks!!! Vibe was the first magazine tht gave me a modeling job!! I still have a bunch of those issues! Lol! VIBE WILL BE MISSED!

  12. Are any of you really suprised?? i mean who still buys magazines now its all about the internet and god knows its probably gonna kill us all. Whenever magazines come out the stories in them are like a week late so whats the point?? by that time you’ve already gotten the 411 from blog sites and what not. But anyway i think Vibe was overpriced and there were too many adverts..

  13. When I got the email today that Vibe was foldn it didn’t come as a shock or disbelief I was shocked when Honey magazine had folded also, magazines are having trouble bcuz info is circulated through blog gossip, the tabloids are flourishing aan people like to be fewed garbage how many of us walk into a supermarket or newsstand what’s the first thing tha grabs our attention those trashy us intouch star the bloody british rag.many of us arent interested in the truth,we love what sounds an look crazy they’re aren’t any beautiful layout’s an glamour. what happen to talent you use to look at a celebrity for their talen but when they do some bull shit we reward them by putting them on the front cover of a magazine but the age of magazines, news paper are becoming extinct every celebrity has a blog an there own internet site hell just type in a name an your there with in seconds sad but true doa to Vibe thanks for the many years my archives are full mary jayz biggie aaliyah tupac left eye janet usher tlc 50 mj diddy m the list goes on

  14. yea i heard about this a minute ago….this shit is getting a lil crazy…but technology is def taking over. thats y places like virgin mega store in nyc r closing.

  15. wowwwwww!! Vibe is one of the best is there anything the fans can do?

  16. damn no vibe this is crazy

  17. THANK THE LORD YOU MADE THE MARK YOU DID YOU PLEASED A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE THOUGHTS YOU HAD NOT MANY PEOPLE CAN PLEASE OTHERS WITH THE BEATS FROM THERE HEARTS WILL BE MISSED AND ALWAYS LOVED JUST REMEMBER WHERE YOUVE BEEN AND KNOW WHERE YOURE GOING MAY GOD BLESS AND LET GO OF STRESS

  18. This is sad, but i read somewhere that Quincy Jones wants to buy the publication and take it to the internet. Print media is slipping more and more but this would be a good look for the publication if it can be salvaged in some way.

  19. WTF?! VIBE is a really good magazine. First Michael now this? What is the world coming to?

  20. DAMN… THAT WAS ONE OF THE LAST FEW GOOD MAGS LEFT…

  21. it became like reading right on or black beat it got kinda stale i fucked with em til the end though!
