Coming all the way from Sydney,Australia right now thats right you even got Lifers from the country at the bottom of the world. First off what i have to say is in no relation to the post. But more so due to what happened when I was driving down to the club last night. I was pumping this track in the car last night, one of my favourite beats by you… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42IXPSTBK6c .. “Slick Rick – Sittin In My Car” . I was vibing.. until one of the gurls in the back, said “What the hell is this?”. Now i live and breed hip hop music and got offended by that statement (obviously i need not explain why i would get offended by that statement … i mean c’mon Slick Rick)… anyways it got me to thinking that, not enough people know the roots of this culture that i love “Hip Hop”. Im the type of person who needs to know everything about what im listening to, so it’s not a thing to go digging in the crates or read or listen to interviews from back in the day… prime example how many ppl know that Pharell produced the wrecks n effects track “Rump Shaker”???… my point is.. this stuff should be more accessible to ppl who may not know certain things like this. I mean just a small thing like what im talking about is part of the reason as to why the industry produces such garbage acts… I asked the same chick who is your favourite rapper (btw i didnt use the word emcee for certain reasons) she said Game.. Now Game is dope…. but how can i come out and say Game is pure dope.. when i know Pete Rocks T.R.O.Y … or that the song Protect Ya Neck exists?? I cant put Game up there until he makes a song that will be remembered over a decade… so what im trying to say is…. The roots of the culture have to be more accesible, so that ppl can set a higher standard of what they should consider good. Sorry if im just all over the place.. but this is jus an issue that doesnt sit right with me. PLEASEEEEEEEEEE put out a mixtape with all your classics. I know the stuff you’ve put out there… and thats why you are up there with the elite producers…buy you have a huge following now… give the people some of that funk that got you here in the first place…. like you said “IF YOUR STATS DONT STACK UP TO MINE…. SHUT THE FUCK UP & KEEP WORKING” .
