No one has forgotten about the impact that R.Kelly has made on Music. It’s a known fact that he is a musical genius and a Grammy Award winning artist/songwriter. I would say that Kellz is an ICON too. I’m a fan of Trey and I see that he has the potential to be just as good as R.Kelly if not better. Trey has had 2 albums to date, which were great in my opinion but under-rated. He’s a talented songwriter/artist. I believe people are looking too much into it this, b4 you know it, everybody is going to make their version of D.O.A. & we’re gonna have this conversation comparing other artist. I bet you within the next 20 years Trey will be just as SUCCESSFUL. His time is coming, I just hope yall are READY.lol

I would support Aerosmith & the Rolling Stones too by attending a concert if I could afford a $2000 tix but I have to settle for the cds.lol

My comment had nothing to do with the song itself, even if Kellz is considered wack for the rest, Trey can’t speak on Rob cuz he aint do one song that can match what anything that Rob has done. That’s like, Lebron calling out Jordan and he aint got no rings (championships). Rob got trophies upon trophies in glass cases and only thing Trey got is player of the week. Until he has A song that can match (BUMP AND GRIND, HONEY LOVE, 12 PLAY, man, I can go on forever) he has no right to speak on that man. Now if it was Usher or Mary J (20 year status) I’d consider listening to his gripe. ……..Plus, the whole shit is dumb anyway, because if I’m an RnB dude and Kellz is making “wack shit” I’d go in the studio and make the best music I could to solidify my spot. As a fan of both I am torn. Auto-tunes has done some good, I wouldn’t say great, creative things for the industry in general. I would honestly say that without such a great and talented artist as R. Kelly there would be no Trey Songz today. Yes Trey does call him out for use of Auto-tune on the “Demo-Tape”, but if I am not mistaken there is a song on the Oceans 11 mixtape where Trey himself uses Auto-tune, hypocritical?? I would only have to say that hearing the forementioned demo tape that the only reason auto-tunes was used is b/c it was used in the song before. DO WE HONESTLY THINK KELLZ WILL GO ALL AUTO_TUNE?? hell no
If anything this may cause a new era in R+B, what about the king(kellz) and the prince(songz) on a track.. just a thought.

Ok, let me ask you, if u were the best at ur craft and still standing strong with no one to really challenge you, would u just step out of the way to let someone else make all the money and have all the shine? it’s just a lil nudge to say stop that bullshyt and get back to do what you do best. kelly stopped singing and just “spoke on beat” on the last few albums and i don’t understand why because he can actually sing. it’s like he conformed to stay relevant and it’s sad. no one is denying the man’s talent but he doesn’t need to follow what’s considered “poppin” right now. some people surround themselves with “yes men” who won’t pull them to the side and tell them when they’re stepping in shyt and it’s not a good look.

Interesting song. When I first heard it I was like Trey got a lot of nerves. But then I read some of the blogs and listened to it again. And I am still like Trey got a lot of nerves. R Kelly is a beast with or without auto tune. As of right now I can’t say that about Trey. If Trey and Kellz both had Cd’s released on the same day which one do you think would sell out first? I think Trey is good but he isn’t on that R. Kelly, Brian Mcknight or Usher level yet. But if this is what he has to do to raise his name up there with the bigger dawgs then I am not mad at him. I think he should have did like Usher did and grow with the music and learn as he grows. But, wait this will be a learning experience. So like I said learn and grow from it. i dont think its really a diss towards kellz as a singer.. we all know kellz is a beast, a lengend, etc.. && i’ve never even been an r. kelly fan… i think the song is directed more or so towards the fact that EVERYBODY is using that damned auto-tune.. the first line of the song says it all.. “i mean for real who wants to hear kellz with auto-tune?? do you??”… NO I DONT!!!.. auto-tune is going to be the death of good music… but i also find this song interesting because trey uses auto-tune himself… a little bit too much (in my opinion), so maybe he should take his own advice…

@Luvvy gurl, awards don’t a good artist. Yes, every artist would like to be recognized for their craft by the greatly respected music organizations out there, but having an award from any of the academies don’t mean squat!
To give my opinion, I really could care less about R. Kelly and his career. Of course he produced/wrote some good songs, but the man is pretty much washed up! The fact that he had some serious legal issues don’t help w/my impressions of him either. Going forward, 007 don’t forget 11 lol killed the track & many may take offense to it, but oh well. Give Trey props for stating the facts and wish him the same success that R. Kelly had in his day minus the little girls trouble.

I asked the same thing. I am no fan of Jay-Z’s, but i don’t dis him either. When I heard the song and Trey on the beat I was like WTF yo??? I knew some ish was gone get started from his new single and that he was gone offend some folks.l After watching the BET Awards I for damn sure knew Jamie ass was offended, but Jay-Z girl Mary J is on that Auto Tune too with that song she has with Drake.
