JetBlue Adds Weekly Flights From New York to Havana Cuba

WOW !!!!

JetBlue has announced that it will add weekly service to New York JFK to Havana’s José Martí International Airport (HAV), making it the first major carrier to feature direct flights to Cuba since travel restrictions were eased to the island country earlier this year. JetBlue will begin direct flights from JFK-HAV every Friday starting July 3, 2015,and passengers will have to book with authorized travel agency Cuba Travel Services.

Cuba Travel Services is licensed by the U.S. government to run charter flights from the US to Cuba, and in April, they partnered with CheapAir to offer commercial passengers service from the US to several cities in Cuba via charters on Sun Country and American Airlines. This new partnership with JetBlue heralds a new shift towards non-charter flights to Cuba, opening the door for other carriers to hop onboard.
