Explorer One concept drawn up by UK firm Design Q for BAE Systems’ Avro Business Jet (ABJ). One of five different concepts that BAE and Design Q will unveil for the ABJ, each will cater to a different slice of the VIP segment.
At the rear of the cabin, the side of the fuselage open and an elevated Air Deck platform extends. BAE says it’s for “the high net worth individual who wants the freedom to travel and explore remote locations in a stylish and comfortable way.” Think a mix of Hemingway and Thomas Crown – hunters of both big game and big business.
After bagging beasts, the interior is meant to make you forget about more trying endeavors with a lounge and ottoman, curved sofas, a white marble floor and a dining vestibule where you can take your seared buffalo in peace. The other Explorer concepts will be revealed over the next few months, but this one isn’t a bad way to fly or safari.

All I have is one question:
What on earth can you see from a plane, sitting on the runway at most airports that would make you want to pull up a chair on your private air deck?
Unless you’re flying this bad boy to your own island, there is not much to look at from any air port.
And even then, who wants to breath in all the jet fuel and listen to the noise while sitting on this deck?
I can see this as something cool on all the yachts they are presently doing this design concept on, but how it works for a plane, I’m not on deck!
Now, make this thing work in the sky somehow within a bubble of glass and I’m all for shelling out the $35 mill for front row/side row seats.
