LOL I was just looking at this video last week. I showed my Mom b/c she couldn’t remember who Tiny was, and she saw you in the video and she was like “Is that Jermaine Dupri?” You looked hella young (not that you look old now) 😉
I was like 7 when this came out and I remember saying your part “This is for the ni**a’s, strickly for the ni**a’s” not knowing what in the world I was saying, needless to say that got shut down real quick when my family heard me singing that part. Music needs to go back to this. This is real music. I honestly don’t even listen to the radio right now b/c the music now dissapoints the hell out of me. I miss the New Jack Swing days. I’m only 22 but I listen to the jazz, and oldies station only now due to this whack a** music out today. There is only a handful of good artist still out there now. Some of these female singers, especially alot of these groups (well there isn’t really many R &B female groups anymore) should take some pointers from Xscape. Hell even Mokenstef’s one hit “He’s Mine” can go toe to toe w/ alot of this weak stuff out today (that was my jam by the way).
I’m gone jump off my soap box, but I really think the music industry needs a jolt from somebody. Somebody needs to bring good music back. I refuse to put my money into sorry artists. I have Michael, Janet, and a few others on heavy rotation, b/c I feel like that is the good stuff.

Oh 1 more thing. Xscape did NOT get the recognition that they deserved. All of them could sing their butts off.

OH YEAH! DO ANYBODY KNOW THAT TINY AND KANDI GOT OWN REALITY SHOW THIS YEAR? ONE IS CALLED THE REAL HOUSEWIVES THAT KANDI IS ON, AND THE OTHER ONE CALLED TINY AND TOYA THAT TINY IS ON. Ohhh snap, I have so many great memories of Xscape. They are still one of my favorite groups to this day! When I was in high school, they did an autograph signing at Spike Lee’s store, which was right near across the street. Years later I got the opportunity to attend their listening party. A label rep that used to visit the record store that I worked in at the time gave me an invite. It was a small and intimate event. I went alone and Kandi was soooo nice to me. I went up to her to say hi and congrats and she told me to call her Nicole. We chatted for a bit and the next thing you know, she took me around and introduced me to the other members. Tameka had just had a baby, so I saw newborn and Tameka’s mom:) LaTasha (sp?) wasn’t there though, she wasn’t feeling well or something. And Tiny was a sweetheart. Da Brat was there and Kriss Kross and alot of other folks. Linque was there too, one of my fave female rappers. If my memory serves me right, Xscape performed that night too, a few joints from the new album 🙂 Ahhh good times.

Today’s music is missing the true essence of R&B. Voice synthesizers are for cats that can’t sing, waterdown beats. 70’s 80’s and 90’s R&B music is gonna last forever, them songs are history and no one forgets history but this new shit that runs on tv, radio, movies, and etc. it will remain shit on a babbies ass till someone cleans it with their bare hands. Songs these days are passing fast, song after song and no one remember`s them anymore and one more thing in every song these days its the same shit, actually its nuthin new just bullshit. I haven’t bought an album since 2002, since 2002, music is’nt the same nomore. Music video’s were the same since 98, all you see in music videos now days are bunch of video models dancing infront of a green screan, dancing at a club, or dancing at a beach party in the summer time. I barely don’t watch music video’s nomore. Back in the 80’s and 90’s, it was cool to watch music video’s because it was amazing to watch artistic, amazing artist do their thing without having to have video models over shine the artist. Today’s music is shit that belongs in my ass whole!

Music today HAVE NO HEART or NO SOUL, Bring back groups like JoDeCi, Drew Hill, Total, Xscape, SWV please!!! THEIR AINT NO GIRL GROUPS OR GUY GROUPS NOW DAYS THAT I CAN SAY ARE THE SHIT, IT’S ALL BUBBLE GUM POP. 90’S R&B GROUPS WERE CLASSIE AND CONSIDER SEXY IN THE DICTIONARY.

90’s music had a big impact in my life. I remember the house parties, the bump in grinding dance moves, and ect. What happen to Baby making music? Today’s sex songs are dancable, what the fuck is that!? Why music today can’t sound like Az Yet – Last Night, Tevin Campbell – shhh, Jon B – Pretty Girl, Rome – Do you like this, Johnny Gill – Lets get the mood right, Babyface – Never keeping Secrets, Keith Sweat – Nobody, Xscape – Do you want to, and many more of them baby making music.

Do producers now days makes good melady hocks to a song? NOPE! I also notice that today’s artist can’t harmonize right, the chorus to every song be weak.

They don’t make songs like this anymore, Usher is barely hangin and Neyo is ok. but Chris Brown is pop and the rest of these n*ggaz is wack.! SORRY, THAT’S THE FUCKING TRUTH!
