BLACKBERRY APP WORLD

THE COMPETITION IS ON !!!!!!!
BLACKBERRYAPPWORLD
They’ve got some more growing to do to catch up with the iTunes App Store, but still: RIM has announced that after less than four months in existence, the BlackBerry App World now boasts 2,000 options—twice as many as when it launched. For the most part, that means BlackBerry users now waste time exactly like iPhone addicts, with apps for Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Google Maps, and the rest of the frequent-fliers. BlackBerry exclusives, like Poynt (which “points” you in the direction of cool things you’ve searched for nearby), are well worth a spin, though they usually have iPhone equivalents. And if you’re still feeling iPhone-covetous, there’s the bPhone app, which makes your CrackBerry look just like the Jobs model. All in all, iPhoners still have 53,732 more apps to choose from…for better or worse. Crazy Penguin Catapult? Currently a best seller.

  1. In reality JD there is no competition….. I have sold both phones Blackberry for years and of course the I-phone when it came out and I can tell you Blackbery will always win out! The i-phone has the “cool” “it” factor of the moment but when you actually own one you find out quickly how shitty it is as a phone that is why there are three versions of the i-phone in the past 3 years… meanwhile the blackberry curve came out 3 years ago and is still one of the hottest selling phones AT&T has to offer. Why? …. because it does everything the i-phone does and it works 5 million times better. They recently came out with the Blackberry Bold which is the curve on steriods. As for the apps if you have ever owned a blackberry then you would have been to Crackberry.com where I believe them to have well over 2,000 apps and they’ve been around or years. I know you love your i-phones but they are a sham….

  2. Yep, Yep. Poynt is the business! As is WorldMate Live & Pandora. Now, if Skype would quit BS’in and release their app, we’d be in business for real.

  3. Brrrr! Wrong answer, This can not touch the iPhone.

  4. Wats good JD I’m a Lifer and I have to say I’m dying without a video… It feels like a Youtube recession right now without a dosage of Living The Life, I think I’m going into withdrawal lmao, sike nah but for real though I know you prolly have alot going on right now with all thats happening so there is no pressure for any new material… My condolences goes out to you and everyone in these tryng times. Be easy big homie.

  5. No need to go back and forth……everyone is entitled to their own opinion…..and that’s obvious because both phones are selling…..

  6. Oh by the way todays my B-day my dude… shout me out, I’m getting hella old out here so I definitely gotta keep grinding to get to where you niggas are at some day… I turned 22 by the way

  7. I do not think one can play music from their personal music library from home on the Blkberry. At least iPhone has iTunes. The Simplify app on iTunes gives you access to your entire music library on the road. Blkberry has tons of phones and they still have not caught with iPhone’s 3rd edition. But, like IzFiyah said .. No need to go back and forth. It’s a person choice. LOL … LOL

  8. OMG….BLACKBERRY is tha sh*t yo….I can’t go without mines @ all…..The iPhone is just that….Somthing to look @…..lolol BlackBerry RULES !!!

  9. I love this phone. It is very professional and have so many options.

  10. Still thinking about getting a Blackberry, but can´t make up my mind to finally get one. Only need it once I am away for http://www.fabfive24.com. to be updated! Maybe I have to inform myself more!

  11. You can play music from your personal music library wth a blackberry and you dont have to have itunes you can use whatever…. Ive been in Wireless for over 7 years and trust me the i-phone is another sham just like the RAZR LOL

  12. I’M ON THE G1 ALL DAY! HOLLA AT ME!

  13. samantha there are about 5 different revisions of blackberries each year if u sold them you would know that lol. a blackberry from a user experience point of view cant touch an iphone. everything is simply easier to do on an iphone. yeah a blackberry good at recieving email yippie. try reading a webpage on one it simply sucks. the one feature a blackberry has over an iphone is running programs in the background which unless your iphone is jailbroken you cant do. but if you smart like me and have a jailbroken iphone you can even do that. 2 thousand apps compared to 50 thousand is no comparision. there is an app for everything u can and cant think of on the app store and if its not you need to make it and make millions off it. and i do have a blackberry and iphone by the way so i have experience on both.

  15. Blackberry Baby! Funny how here in Hollywood iphone user and BB users can be as different as night and day. Just like Mac and PC users. Check the cell phone debate: http://bit.ly/CP34Z

  16. well i’m kinda a cheater because I use to only have an iphone but for my birthday this past sunday I got a blackberry. So now i’m using both. I love both of them I think they both serve their intended purpose. I love my iphone for all those random yet efficient apps. I love my berry for email, scheduling, twitter, documents and other buisness reasons. My personal oppinion is it depends on what your looking for in a phone. P.S. Right now I’m using my iphone lol.

  17. I actually happened to download the App World last night onto my Pearl and after browsing through some of the applications, I was a bit disappointed. In all fairness I need to give it a second look before I come to a final decision, because right now my first instinct is a “thumbs down.” I’m also reluctant to download too many of the paid Apps (the ones I really want) because I’m eyeballing the myTouch that launches next month. In the meantime I’m going to check out App World again, we’ll see how it goes in a few days.

  18. BlackBerry All Day!!

  19. iPhone! It’s obvious to those who want to be truthful!

  20. Quite dope… but I wonder can the bb hold as many apps as the iphone.. prob not. so what phone companies are going to have as a problem with this app promotion is apps will start crashing phones… and comapnies will not choose to fix… and or phones freezing for lack of memory.

    case and point. TWITTER applications.

  21. Does anyone know if this will work well on the Storm?
