  6. It’s about time!!! Congrats to Mr. Womack. “Love Has Finally Come At Last” was one of his songs my Mom used to play over and over. He is truly deserving of this induction.

  7. Congrats to Bobby, I grew up on that shit , that is when music had a feelin’ to it. It inspires people want to do things! That is some straight BLACK SUPERHERO SHIT!!!!!!!!

  8. Yes! I love Bobby W. If u thnk ur”… Is my jam! JD i swear u amaze me sumtimes. Just when I thnk ur not payn attention, u shock me.but ur right, I kno u can’t do anythng about the whole dmc issue, but ur contributions are enuff…

  9. I have tried to use that damn bassline and that shit is so hard that you can’t really put anything around it. Dr. Dre tried to use it to but the song never came out. Niggas here in Atlanta are using 808 drops for baselines not knowing that the next level is that bass guitar. JD. Call Lamarcus Jefferson i think that’s his name, I had a session with him once, and his friends and get busy. Just like the RUN DMC stuff, you got to got back to the real and the real is instruments. I listen to Maze everyday going to work. WHY does the intrumentals sound so much better? 2 reasons.. 1. Every instrumental has a heart connected to it. 2. Live bands from the old school recorded performances not just records with 1000 retakes. James Brown it the record button and 3 mins after that you had a record. People relate to feelings not machines, that’s why when Im working on tracks, if that shit ain’t poppin in 5 mins Im hitting delete. The beats you make in about 20 mins are made from feelings and therefore are closer to the heart. Niggas working on the same track for 2 days; that shit be wack as hell and they be there bobbin their heads. I Got all the records from James Browns radio station he had in Augusta, WRDW… From the 60 thought the 90’s I got it.. SCHOOL OLD…15 Thillers records in Ment condition. …holla at your boy!!

  10. that bassline and sample was used well by 50 off the get rich or die trying soundtrack..!!!!!! AND JD JUST AS TRE SONGZ SAID HE WAS MENTORED MOST LIKELY BY HIS PRODUCER THAT GROOMED HIM TO STUDYTHE GREAT BEFORE HIM…JUST AS KC FROM JODECI STUDIED BOBBY WOMACK….MOST OF THESE ARTIST TODAY ARE PRODUCING THEMSELVES NOT BEING PRODUCED.MOST PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND THE ART OF PRODUCING..AS I PRODUCER WHEN IM GROOMING A ARTIST IM CONSTANTLY GETTING THEM TO LISTEN TO OLD HITS FROM THE GREATS..STUDY FILMS FROM THE GREATS..CHECK OUT INTERVIEWS..HOW THEY CARRY THEMSELVES ONSTAGE AND OFF STYLE..LEARN HOW TO BE A STAR..THERE IS A ART TO BEING A STAR….IT HAS TO BE TAUGHT BY THOSE WHO KNOW IT.ROCK BANDS STUDY ROLLIN STONES..RAP ARTIST DISS OLD SCHOOL….ROLLIN STONE IS TOUR THE WORLD AT DAMN NEAR 70 YEARS OLD…OLD SCHOOL RAP ARTIST ARE WORKING AT BURGER KING….

  11. A YO! my nigga spock be off that real shit mr. womack is the shit. The Poet one coooold muthafuckin album these new niggas know nuthin bout that shit there! And I didnt even want to comment on the hip hop shit because the shit is depressing when i start to think about what these niggas have done to something i love so much i know what will get it back niggas need get back to the block and out the clubs and the hamptons and off the fuckin runways no more videos on white sandy beaches more creativity I was watching a Coldplay video the other day the one with the puppets performing, it was some of the dopest shit ive seen in a long time and i thought why dont Hip Hop artists do shit like this why dont we have shit that captivates the eye like that our creativity level is at a all time low shit is all the same we cant depend on Jay Kanye Weezy TIP and the few other artists (if there is any) to be there all the time think about it when you had shit like Das Efx Brand Nubian Naughty Kane Main Source Gang Starr Lyte DeLaSoul and so on and so on none of those artist sounded the same looked the same niggas didnt have stylists their videos all looked different they didnt have big ass budgets niggas got it in on trains in sewers whatever nigga and shit ended up being the hottest shit yo ass ever saw nigg when Das was like “Bum Stiggity Bum Stiggity Bum Bum” man niggas ARE FUCKIN INCAPABLE OF ANYTHING THAT DOPE TODAY!!! I said it! These niggas cant do it rap music today boooooooooooooo! Shit is still on life support and its all our fault!

If you think you’re lonely now… wait until tonight

  15. Hi J,

Did you get a chance to tell Anthony H… I said hi ????? I saw u at the W in AZ allstarweekend…..anywho Ant sounds like Bobby in some of his songs….. Hey wish you & yours the best ….1

  16. Bobby Womack had a deep catalog for producers to sample.I call that legend music.
And Spock is right about making beats. Its usually the ones you do in a little bit of time that you just have a strong vibe with that are the best ones.

  17. Bobby Womack is the shit!!!

  18. I never knew he was black, i will be honest about that, nor have i ever heard his music…but after this song…i am loving what i am hearing and i can pick up where alot of artists got influence from…as for the Hip Hop situation, i get wat u saying about hip hop and how there is no foundation left for the young as well as up and coming hip hoppers out there….i think that the hip hop honors show gives a vague glimpse into old hip hop, its the closest we youngins get to seeing the real deal like it was back then. LL has become more pop now than hip hop/rab…I think you, JD are my last hope- wat u did wit dj class…thats the kinda hip hop track i wanna hear. I think at the moment there is no direction in hip hop…the direction, motivation, innovation is DEAD! The lifestyle has changed…it used to be about the music and ‘living the life’ now…the music is lost…hopefully, wit u, dre, kid capri…it wont be lost forever…You, should pave the way JD…u have it in you to do it…give it a go…u were there…show us how it used to be…bring it back…Whodini style…lol…I am 20 years old…i obviously dnt knw shit about wat happened back then, but i hav such a love of knowledge when it comes to hip hop…being African, ur exposed to one or two types of music all your life…hip hop is not one of them…

  19. Hahha

I heard thi nigga tell me watch them hoes but watch them nccas that calll U they friends

    The Phoenix

  20. When I turned this song on, I just sat back in my chair and closed my eyes….I wish that music was as personal as it used to be. I miss songs that get only better with time. I mean, we have songs that are 30, 40+ years old that we play as if it’s our first time listening to them. No diss, but I can’t say that 30 years from I’m gonna be playin “Crank Dat Superman” or whatever else is out there….as a young kid of only 22, I strive to make my mark in the music industr by giving my life story and hopefully it touces someone else so that it can continue to live through the times, not just merely die out as a fad….good job on posting this one up JD. Holla at ya boy

  21. JD I get it It’s like you have to know where you come from in order to know where your going! The first step is to realize there’s a problem and CLEARLY there’s a problem in hip hop and now we need to figure out how to fix it! I think you, Diddy and Snoop should host old school concerts and seminars to help the new generation! Let them know about Run DMC, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Naughty By Nature, Common, Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest, Kurtis Blow, MC Lyte, Salt N Pepa, NWA, Sweet T…I can go on and on because I love hip hop even right now with the horrible state it’s in I love it for what it usd to be and what I know it can become! We have to fall back in love with hip hop again! 😉

  22. I think we still have some KINGS left like bobby womack , whispers, gerald levert’s father , and maybe ll cool j. i just choose him because he helped get def jam off the ground ya know. im 30 jd and i find myself sometimes playing zz hill downhomeblues or cheating inthe next room . i also play bb king – lucille is my favorite song by him . i need to buy his greatest hits album and new jack city part 2. i watched bob wow grow up.I saw him at the airport a couple of tiMES AT LAX WHERE I WORK ! I AM HAVING A SON jermaine thinking about giving him your middle name as homage to you. soso def 4 life holla lifer till death!

  23. Congrats to Bobby Womack!

  24. Congrats to Bobby Womack being inducted. A true legend in the game. His style influcened alot of R&B artists. Put on any Jodeci song and listen to K-Ci sing!!!!!

  25. Nice song..free and clean..I and understand what he is actually saying..so many singers now days do not know how to speak the Queen’s English aka Standard English..so sad…

  26. Its true JD no other blog site has this kind of news there… it’s as if some people in the music industry don’t want others to know about things like this… that’s a shame..

  27. MY MAMA LOVE STHIS MAN!!!
