I talk to both of my sons about life and my circumstances frequently. I use my own story to motivate them to be more and to go for their dreams while the are young with no responsibilities. I also try to throw in that I was going through real emotional issues when I was their age due to the fact that my mama had died of cancer when I was 18 […] View

     THE ONE I ONCE LOVED
How could the love of my life not end in a fairytale
We were so young not many things in our life was well
Together we made a family and built a good life
I was not only the mother of your children but I was your wife
Partners in life through and through
But over the years something happened to you
I became an obligation not the center of your world
Then your eyes began to wander as you chased other girls
Broken hearts are hard to mend
But I was no angel I began to seek out my own outside friends
In a story where each was once so true
We became nothing more than roommates
There were no more I Love Yous
Kisses became a habit not given out of love or care
Sex only happened because of the bed that we shared
We both knew that this was no longer love but a situation
There was no room for growth because we both had hesitation
We didn’t want to stay but leaving was hard too
So for so many years we just made it through
How could a life that was once filled with so much joy crumble
How could two people in love start to wander
How could the one I once loved become the one I hate the most
How could he hurt me so bad and leave my heart exposed.
