I talk to both of my sons about life and my circumstances frequently. I use my own story to motivate them to be more and to go for their dreams while the are young with no responsibilities. I also try to throw in that I was going through real emotional issues when I was their age due to the fact that my mama had died of cancer when I was 18 […] View

    A Mother and Her Sons
It’s hard for a woman to raise a boy into a man
Even with a lot of love and guidance she strives to do the best that she can
She never had her Daddy to show her the way
So when it comes to talking to them she doesn’t always know what to say
Their own dad has given up on living a productive life
So he doesn’t have the proper tools to teach them right
A mother can only weep so many times
Until God intervenes to give her peace of mind
Or a sign that she is doing okay
So all of her fears can melt away
It’s hard not only watching them grow but guiding them on the right path
Why won’t more men think about that
Before leaving a son in the hands of his mother
We all need to help one another
In the end our goal should be the same
We want our boys to become a good man.
