I TOOK THIS PICTURE LAST NIGHT AT THE KERI PARTY. IT LOOKS LIKE THE PARTY IS OVER FROM THIS BUT THIS WAS AT 1:15. THE DJ WAS PLAYING ALL THE RECORDS WE KNOW AND LOVE, EVERYBODY WAS TRYING TO GET IN VIP AND NOBODY WAS ON THE DANCE FLOOR. THIS HAS BECOME THE LIFE OF THE BLACK CLUBS HERE IN THE A. WHERE DID THE PARTY GO? LAST YEAR AT MY SO SO DEF WEEKEND I HAD A SUPER FLY WHITE PARTY, EVERYBODY DRESSED UP LIL JON WAS DJING BUT I HAD TO DAMN NEAR STOP THE PARTY TO GET PEOPLE TO DANCE. IS THIS THE NOT DANCE IN THE CLUB ERA AND I JUST DIDN’T GET THE MEMO CAUSE I’M LOST. MY NIGGA SERGE ASKED ME IS IT THE DJ’S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE PEOPLE GET ON THE FLOOR? YES AND NO IF HE DROP THE RIGHT RECORDS PEOPLE SUPPOSE TO HIT IT. SOMEBODY ELSE ASKED IS IT THE BLACK HOLLYWOOD PARTIES THAT CREATED THIS? I THOUGHT THOSE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE THE BEST BUT EVERY TIME I LOOK UP ITS A MILLION CAMERA PHONES AND NOBODY DANCING. IT SEEMS TO ME THESE CLUBS ARE NOW PLACES TO SEE CELEBRITIES, LISTEN TO MUSIC AND DRINK. DANCING AIN’T IN THE PROGRAM LOL. HAVE YALL NOTICED THIS OR AM I TRIPPING ?
people have forgotten how to be social with all these social networking sites they don’t know how to interact face to face so they dive into their cellphones.
there also has been a total declination in people dancing and showing respect for their partner. it has gone from waltz’s to straight up fucking on the dance floor and now no dancing at all.
SoSodef has to show these people how to party again.
I so agree!! What angers me more than anything is when party goers are there purely to be in the company of a celebrity. Celebrities are just people like you and me. They have life issues, gain weight and like to have fun just like we do. I get so aggravated by the groupies and star struck audiences. We are all at a spot to have great time, so let’s just all party it up like our parents did back in the day. Me and my girls get it in on the dance floor! I am human I have those people in entertainment that I feel are da bomb, but never will you catch me stopping my 2 step to be in their presence. Isn’t that the point of going out, so that you have a good time? Is there not more to life than who was at the party?
Thats real talk JD, I stay in the chi boss. And these cats be up social networking at a dance club… They might hit the floor once and a while but not heavy and Im like man I came here to get it in not smile and shack niggas hands.. ya dig. So I dig you its become a problem ..
P.s. as a dj we can only do so much. and even when your on ten if the crowd aint.. I’m at a lost.. lol.

I just moved back to the states from France (and Dubai) and this ish drives me crazy. I love ATL but the fact that people don’t really let loose in clubs bugs me. I like to dance, get crazy drunk, and just overall have a good ass time. After all, why else go to a club?
I find that people are far far too inhibited nowadays. Everyone is worried about what the next person is thinking about them. Hell, do you! For me that means warming up the dance floor. Oh and I think there is WAY to much emphasis placed on VIP.
DJ’s- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get back to the formula of warming the crowd up, dropping a banger, taking it back to floor fillers and anthems, and WORKING THE CROWD. Too many Dj’s don’t pay enough attention to whats working and whats not!

Since i never been to an celeb party i will answer on a typical NY party in the beginning no1 dances becuz the DJ plays music from 1990…lol. Then when 1am comes around everyone is on the floor shakin some tail. iidk why folks like to stare @ celebs is iit really serious to stare & take flicks…lol
Ive lived in Houston, ATL, & L.A. annnddd I must say Im big on partying with a mixed crowd lol idk if it’s the fact that I don’t want to be out done by the drunk white girl lol but it’s mind boggling how my fellow black women are still stuck on that 1920′s uptight routine. STAY YOUR ASS AT HOME! If I’m heading out with my girls we are ALL having a good time and making sure everyone around us are doing the same whether it’s buying shots for everyone or just acting an ass lol But, sitting down in VIP looking like a lame is NOT the business!
Try something most are sleepin on, MJQ is one of my favorite spots to go on Saturdays and for the Sloppy Seconds events, and try some of Fadia Kader’s parties or Smoke&Mirrors on Thursdays at Wiskey Park. We always have fun at Caleb’s parties.
If you still want to party hard go to a caribbean party, particularly a Trinidadian one. Trinis still love to dance till the lights go up in the club.
Yea I feel you on that JD. I was looking at a clip just the other day of the party Biggie went to in LA the night he was killed (my he RIP). The party was in LA and the club was packed and you had Puffy and a couple of others that were in the lime light there just walking around the club like it wasn’t nothing (enjoying there selves like normal people). Now that celebs have people interested in there every move they play up on it and what better way at the club then VIP. Plus they getting paid because they announce that they are there. If they didn’t say anything and just went and partied with the crowd then they might just get there shoes stepped on! lol I think that celebrates have taken it to that level and they are the reason the clubs are lame ass hell. They want to draw attention to themselves. Point being back in the day people mingled in the crowd now a days celebs have to feel extra and it draws more attention. Personally fuck being in they face I go to the club to have a good time. Ohh one more thing in the A it’s a full time job for them to go to places celebs are to try to fall upon some dough sad but true.
