WhatsApp Releases a Desktop Client

WhatsApp Releases a Desktop Client

Whatsapp is finally offering a desktop client. Whatsapp offers a cross-platform messaging service that many have come to know and rely on. For now, the desktop version is only a web client, which you can access here. To use it, you’ll have to scan a QR code on the website through Whatsapp on your phone. Presumably, this is because the service uses your phone number and SMS verification as opposed to login credentials. Unfortunately for iPhone users, “Apple platform limitations” (according to Whatsapp) leaves iOS users out. However, on platforms where it works, the client is simple and easy to use. Curiously, it seems to be live-connected your phone, because when your phone dies, so does the web client. The Whatsapp desktop client currently works for Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, and Nokia S60 users.

  1. WhatsApp has released a desktop client for both Mac and Windows. The desktop client allows you to access the messaging service from your computer, as long as your phone is connected to the internet. The desktop client is available for download from the official WhatsApp website.
