Expanding on its controversial yet highly demanded private car service, Uber announces “UberEats,” a new food delivery service. Accessible from within Uber’s current mobile app, UberEats aims to partner with select eateries, offering curated lunch options for between $9 to $12, while dinner will cost $10 to $15. The idea seems a very natural extension of Uber’s current program, although this isn’t the first new alley that CEO Travis Kalanick has explored; a delivery service named Cornerstore for household items was beta-tested in Washington, D.C. and later renamed to UberEssentials. Head over to the App Store to place your order.
