Twitter, Ping Join Forces For Music, Songs In Tweets
Avid Twitter users should prepare for a potential onslaught of musical tweets after Apple’s social network Ping and Twitter announced a partnership today.
Starting today Ping, iTunes’ new social network for music, and Twitter are making it even easier for people to share music discoveries with their friends by putting Ping activity, song previews and links to purchase and download music from the iTunes Store right in their Tweets on Twitter.com.
Twitter users can sync their account to Ping within iTunes and song previews and links to purchase music will appear in the right panel of Twitter’s relatively new website design.
Ping was initially released with Facebook Connect integration, which mysteriously disappeared not long after and led to some considerable attention. Twitter seems to be taking advantage of that mishap in September with a partnership of its own.

Maybe this will get a lot more people onto Ping. I don’t know too many people that actually are using Ping
i think that it is interesting how social media has blown up within the past 5 yrs. I think its also interesting that this comes on the heels of I tunes extended the preview selection on there server from 30 secs to 90 secs! i hope that this will correlate into ppl buying more music! not necessary just a song but the whole album!

Smart move by Apple…
Technology…I love it!
Why not try to apply this on a smaller scale to this new Global14-community?
So all of us members can get quicker access to all of the So So Def music and music of the other Oceans who are signed to other labels…
I think it would be a smart move to give this social community such “unique factor” so it stands out from all the other social networks.
This is interesting indeed!!! It’s a great way for folks to expand their horizons through music which what I’m all about. =)
Finally! Now I don’t have to be bothering to go #NowPlaying, specially since I’m always playing something.
this is gonna be a good look for those that make there own music to be heard im excited
Great news!
