Your words were very interesting..I also thought what Kanye did was funny but for different reasons. Kanye has no tact. It’s a time and place for everything. Kanye clearly missed the memo. It was funny to me bkuz Kanye wont go broke over this and Taylor will make more money bkuz of it and AMERICA finds this as a trending Topic. America is FUNNY!
I also wrote Johnta on a personal note on Youtube and one thing we did agree on was that IGNORANCE is IGNORANCE (Black,Yellow,Green, Purple) but as a African American Kanye embarrassed himself NOT me…It is really interesting to see how people pick and choose whats ignorant these days. You simply cant call out every little thing bkuz you will be mad at the world. @branayoc What you said was true. I’m not saying that Johnta was right or wrong however it is important to think about what you say and do no matter if its a million people or four people watching. At the end of the day there is ONE person who sees and hears everything. I’m not upset at what Johnta said, I just thought it was interesting that he made that comment and as you said “give him a chance” the same goes for Kanye. No one is perfect. What is succes for one can be a failure for another thats the odds of life. We are all at odds whether or not it is acknowledged. And tact it is definitely a social word for falling in line with the majority. It is what it is but at the end of the day it’s people like Kanye, Johnta, Joe Wilson, etc that make the world go around. I just wish people would have reverance for the world. No one is perfect and neither is this world! People do what Ye and Johnta do all the time in the hood, only difference is there is no camera to record it. Yeah it’s a bigge picture that only man can see but what about the bigger picture that goes beyond the camera and the dwelling of the Earth. At the end of the day its all love because I have a sense of humor but I’m not going to knock Johnta, you, or Ye an opinion is an opinion no matter how it is stated but the oppression of a people is dangerous.

I agree I even did a video on youtube about the incident and how i thought it was funny and ppl were cursing me out left to right..lol but what you expressed is the TRUTH you have to be careful what you say because ppl are watching. Just as Johnta is catching heat from these small words Kanye is definitely feeling the heat from his actions..and this wasnt Ye’s first outburst…lol but how many chances does he get?! We as a ppl have to draw the line somewhere or people will just be doing and saying anything(regardless if their words made sense there is a time and place)…so Ye needs this lil break to reflect on his words bkuz his mission was to attack MTV but in the process he hurt and stole someone’s shine which isnt right. It seams like Sean was right the entire time all along and I also think that Kanye was right and I support what he said because Im hispanic and I remember when I white dude said that a latino women could’nt be in supreme court or something like that. When you say “negativity” what are you referring too both parties have evolved in their google searches. Their percentage has increased. This whole incident has blown so far out of proportion to act off as though he’s killed someone. I don’t know how you were raised but as a child I was taught that no matter what you never look down on anyone. I don’t have that right. Like I stated I support humankind period. But this is definitely upsetting me because this is why we as a people can’t succeed. There are far more things globally that deserve more attention than the mere antics of him. When you speak of these things it does because a huge issue for me. I never stated anything about his apology interview with Leno concerning the issue with his mother. I’m sure you are upset from the things you have read today. I saw the interview and Kanye knew what he did was wrong thats why he apologized. Kanye would have not apologized if he thought what he did was RIGHT….so furthermore he did the right thing and HE hasnt dealt with the loss of his mother…CLEARLY that was written all over his face and he said it himself. Now if thats his reason behind this then OK there is a reason for everything…I dont know him to know why he did that…

I’m not sure if i understood what you wrote…but what i did comphrehend is that you agreed with Kanye…thats fine you are entitled to your opinion..I’m also a Kanye fan i just didnt agree with the outlandish remark during Taylors acceptance speech. What Kanye said was that he thinks Beyonce has a great video and he congratulated Taylor…So OK AGREED!!..but really in the middle of someone talking thats like somebody cuttn you off while you talking thats RUDE!! Okay ya’ll I’m back. Very interesting dialogue on here which I love. I think its great when everyone can talk without bean mean-spirited and I agree with a lot of what was said.
First things first essay254…I never said anything about being rich to Sean. If you read my comment to him I agreed with a lot of what he said. Even though his initial post seemed to come from a place of more anger than anything. HE said the word “hater” should be retired. I said that “swagger” does too. Both words are completely overused. That’s my opinion. But I never brought up my financial status. And my first job was in landscaping at the age of 8. Then construction. Honestly entertainment is the FIRST job I’ve had that didn’t involve manual labor so I know what a regular job feels like and respect everyone who works hard everyday.
Next I would like to say that Kanye’s apology was very sincere and heartfelt and he, like everyone else, deserves a second chance. My issue with the whole thing is that I feel like a lot of Black people felt like he did nothing wrong and he did. I heard a lot of talk about Ye doing Taylor a favor. It upset me because it reminds me of the ignorant viewpoint that “because I’ve never heard of something, then its not hot” and that’s wack. For the record, Taylor Swift has sold MORE records than Kanye so he didn’t do ANYTHING to boost a career that sales wise is more successful than his. I told someone the other day that the year Jermaine and I wrote “We Belong Together” with MC that song was the biggest record of the year. Yet we lost the Record of the Year & Song of the Year Grammy to U2. Did I feel robbed? YES!!! But I didn’t go and crash Bono and his groups moment. My Father taught me that character is not measured in victory but in defeat. We all lose things that we felt we should have won. I also feel like it wasn’t his loss and Beyonce can stand up for herself and she also has a husband to stand up for her. Taylor had NO CONTROL over her name being called so to shit on her (which is what he did real talk) was NOT COOL. And he didn’t just rob Taylor of her moment, he robbed Beyonce as well. Because she should have been able to give her acceptance speech for Video of the Year. Instead she was classy enough to put her moment on hold and give the moment that Taylor had STOLEN from her back.

I read Seans comment and yours again to gain a better understanding of what you are talking about and I’m still lost but here is what i gathered from the mix …Retiring the word “swag” and “hating” is just like a fad just like clothes words go out of season. I dont think he meant anything negative about that! I agree that more people should have been outraged at Joe Wilson’s behavior. Which brings me to another issue that bothers me. Sadly, a lot (not all but a lot) of Blacks who took time to watch the MTV awards were NOT watching when President Obama gave his speech so they didn’t know about Congressman Wilson’s behavior until the next day. Also, in my view the office of the Presidency has always deserved respect in my opinion and I don’t think Blacks would be outraged if a Black Congressman interrupted a White President which is still wrong. Racism still exists HEAVILY in the nation but EVERY TIME we feel wronged as Blacks we can’t play the race card. Taylor Swift winning that award was NOT an act of racism. Its a damn award. There are soldiers dying for this country who are Black and White and they deserve more of our attention and support than crying “racism” to support Kanye’s outburst. What’s unfair is that Kanye was simply called rude and obnoxious by White America but if Eminem would have snatched the mic from Bey than Black America would have called him a racist before they called him rude. So many people have made there statements of this issue when it’s just a point of realizing that America is built on a lie and as long as we live in the lie than everything is ok! No, it’s not. I personally pray for any entertainer because the free will I have is not the same free will that you have. Yes, celebrities have an advantage but with every advantage there is a disadvantage. You can sit in the comfort of your home and be a complete imbecile and no one crucifies you for it. I believe considering them to gods is a bit much. They have the same talents that you have but maybe they are a bit more driven. I am not saying that your point is invalid but have some substance behind your issue besides black cards and money. I dont support Kanye or Sean, I think what they are saying is the truth because Ive seen my parents go through hell in this country. I support Latinos and Latino music. I never hear anything about latinos on this website ever. Dont you think that is bias.
I don’t know if I understand what yor just posted but correct me if I am wrong. You have every right to support whomever you please. I can’t recall seeing a post about a Latina/o however I will say that I don’t know many Latino/a artist. That however is my own ignorance, if you recommend some I will listen to them. This is JD’s blog and I’m sure he knows a Latino/a however if he posts of them or not thats his decision. Minorities whether black, latino, etc have experienced hell in this country. You are not alone! My mom had fivechildren, I am the baby and at 22, I only have one living sibling and that’s my sister. I’ve buried both sets of my grandparents, my father and my siblings. However, I will not blame this country for that. As an individual I have the right to succeed at any amount at my own free will. There are people that are breaking barriers that young ones like use can come behind and make a difference. Blaze trail don’t feed the fire with biotry and ignorance.

My view is my view but for the record i didnt go IN on Songz…I am a fan i have purchased 2 of his 3 albums and i got the first one free when he came to my college. I have listened to Ready everyday. I follow him on twit and he follows me…now that we have that out the way…the convo you read was about Trey Songz being better than RKelly….My view still stands R kelly has sold over 15 million singles and over 50 million albums and i “believe” he has 11 or 12 albums (dont quote me on that) whether it was 11 or 12 the comparising is really unfair to Trey and i wish it never came up. Trey has 3 albums and Ready sold 131k in the first week. You like Trey so you are a smart person so do the math! I’m unfamiliar with the stats on Neyo so i wont elaborate on him ( i like his music too) and USHER would be a better comparising to Kellz and he still wouldnt make it and Usher is GREAT!..Ushers Here I stand sold ova 400k in the first week and trust there is more to Usher its just no need to have all they stats up i just wanted you see what we were previously discussing. So i thought the comparision with rkelly and trey was crazy bkuz they skipped ova ppl like Usher. Not to mention all the awards those 2 have won.

I don’t know Kanye and have never met or talked to him, but you have never met or talked to me either. So how can you make the assumption that he is tighter then me? He might be or maybe not. How would you know?
I prejudged JD, Johnta, B Cox all of them at first. JD still got issues, but I respect him but that was AFTER I talked to him. So how do you really know a person before you meet or talk to them?
