    JD, you really need UN-BIASED people on #teamdondria

    What I am about to say from here on, may get a few people upset…but here goes!

    Most of the people on G14 aren’t being objective/ unbiased.
    I understand that when you are down with a movement, you rarely see the bad in it, or try to defend everything that is wrong with it.
    But to be honest, I feel like as Lifers, we need to come at this project, without feelings or emotions. We should be able to tell JD, Dondria etc. what we really feel without thinking that we will offend them.

    This comment particularly pertains to the album cover and the “Shawty Wasap” video.
    With regards to the album cover, I found it strange that almost everyone on this blog thought it looked great, yet about 90% of other commentary on blogs such as Concrete Loop disliked it.
    Same with the Shawty Wasap video. A number of things lacked in that video. From wardrobe to colouring, to the way Johnta’s name was spelt. Yet only a handful noticed or even referenced it in their comments.

    Lifers, if we want our girl to do well, we need to have a critical eye! We need to see these projects like someone who isnt a Lifer will see it. At the end of the day, we want both Lifers and non-Lifers to buy the album!

  11. @ Ewurafua Whats wrong with the album cover? I think it encompasses everything that she is down to the bag of Chipotle chips. The video, I love it. It’s a classic ATL video, I felt like I was back at home in the park on the weekend.
    This movement doesn’t need people who are on the fence or saying umm…I don’t know…well maybe…
    It needs people passionate about a product. I am passionate about it and want to see her win. Just looking at where she came from is a success in and of itself.
    This train has left the station, either you gone be on it or we gone be waving at you as we pass by. lol

With talents & knowing without direction from birth & U should know base on my none book & or spotlight experienc es, yet i’m HeR. When I do the Youtube that’s how U’ll know it’s me beyond the visual. GETTIN IT IN, WHERE IT SHOULD HAvE BEEN GOT & LOVIN U BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION, IN LOVE & AINT SCARED!!!!!!   14. @Kandi…my sentiments exactly! I want to see Dondria WIN!!!
    It is for that reason that I look at everything she and JD do, critically. I look at it, as if I am not a Lifer, because I believe if I look at it as a Lifer, I would bring in emotion and not see any wrong.
    As for the album cover, I know it encompasses everything that Dondria/Phatfffat is about, but I think D.Blanks executed it wrongly (especially since alter-egos are his forte). The Phatfffat wasn’t the real representation, as the Phatfffat I know was au naturale and in braids most of the time.

    I suggest you go to Concrete Loop to read some of the comments that were made about the album cover.

    As for the video, considering that it came out 2 weeks later than scheduled, I would have thought that finishing touches would have been made. Johnta’s name was spelt wrong and the colouring was off for some parts of the video.
    I understand that SoSoDef is independent, but that is no excuse for the those oversights. She is going to be competiting with people and videos from Major record labels, regadless. Things need to be stepped up.

    Some followers have expressed concern over not having the ability to hear Dondria’s authentic soulful vocals. In order to promote and keep the fan base energized while maximizing it, we have to make sure we’re catering to the masses that fell in love with her videos. You should create a VLOG that emcompasses some of her best work when you found her on Youtube and tie it into a strategy to promote the album…this is just in case some aren’t really feeling the current single….more ideas to come….follow @dondriaaug17th

    IDEA: The same energy that we’re getting for Dondria on Twitter and Youtube needs be on Myspace and Facebook as well. Let’s not neglect Myspace and the most traffic is going to Facebook nowadays as well….gotta cover all outlets! This can change the dynamics as well by bringing in more listeners to those who aren’t fluent YouTubes or Tweeters….LTL! Stay Tuned!

Fact is fans are the best people to have on your marketing team but you also need Critical people to make it an even balance. Which is what I’m seeing on these comments between Ewurafua and Kandi.

I didn’t no Youtube Dondria I didnt no Phatphat, I no SOSODEF Dondria. So I really don’t see nothing wrong with the Album, I no she liked food and it has food on the cover, so it’s alrite with me. As far as the 2nd video, it was just ok, I think Dondria had too much make up on, and I didn’t really like what she had on doring the purple bg, and I don’t no wth diamond had on lol. I agree going forward everything should be looked at with a fine tooth comb because i was not all that keen on having Diamond on the track. Thats neither here nor there…time to push forward and get this thing to #1 on August 17th. Its not going to be easy she is going up against Ciara, TI, Kem and Trace Adkins. White people support those country artists lol…so we have to do everything in the next 27 days to get people amped.

Have a contest on FB where someone will be randomly selected to win only providing that they change their Facebook profile to her album cover. THE COVER SHOULD INCLUDE THE RELEASE DATE so that it will be easily visible to those who aren’t Dondria fans, but are friends to those who are…invade Facebook and Myspace and other sites with more traffic flow….#TEAMDONDRIA MOVEMENT!!!

    If memory serves me right, Drake’s “Best I have” got slammed, despite the success of the song!

    @Kandi, you stated that those decisions were made before we got on the team…but we have always been on the team! We have always supported them, either of this blog, other blogs or on Twitter and YouTube.
    I think rather than enforcing things, we should have been critical from the get-go, so that our opinions would have been included in the major decisions.

    You will be surprised how our comments are very influential in how things are run in both major and independent labels. eg Fantasia. She released “Even Angels” as her 1st single, but people weren’t feeling the song, especially after hearing snippets of some of the potential first singles on her TV show.
    Label immediately changed direction and cahanged the leading single to “Bittersweet”, and currently, that song is sitting in the Top10 R&B charts.

    Since I am talking too much…I will just say that:
    At the end of the day, Lifers, please don’t be afraid or shy to voice your true opinions about SoSoDef projects!

    4-PROFILE PICS- Like you said get as many people(Dondria & Your Fans) change there AVATARS to the album cover

    5- VIRAL OUTLETS- Since this is basically a viral marketing campaign, Utilize all outlets such as FaceBook, Myspace & Youtube9All should have her ALBUM COVER AS THERE PROFILE PICTURES, INCLUDING YOUR(JD) MYSPACE PAGE) if not Everyday Every other day with constant updates

    6- Streamline all Dondria tagged postings here on global14 under the Dondria section on the header where you find the mixtape coz essentially Dondria doesnt have a website & if people come to global14 all they will find is the mixtape

    7-Dondria LTL- Youtube Video Countdown with her interacting with fans during her different promotional shows & travels like Keri did before her album came out

    8- The global 14 upper header shouls be dondria album cover also stating the release day of the album 8/17/10

    9- At the end of the day its all about creating fans interest in Dondria’s music & informing them on the release date of the “Dondria Vs Phattffatt” & most of all for them to but the record when it comes out 8/17/10

  37. I don’t be on twitter no more, I think I canceled my account last year. But I would let you know this much. I’m very dedicated, and will be honored to work with Dondria. To me, it’s not about the money. I want to be able to do what I love to do. Life is to short you know what I’m saying? I’m not getting any younger, but I don’t have time to waste working at Burger King getting paid 6.50 an hour eating fating burgers everyday, having to pay my rent every month, and going to school 2 times a week. I don’t want to be doing that for the next 4 to 8 years until I’m done with college. It’s hard, but I do it because I don’t want to be a failure in life. But I also have dreams, goals that I want to accomplish in my 20’s, if not, my life would suck! Since the time I was in high school I have to fight my way into a better education for myself just to get my diploma and be able to go to college. I did not want a Special Diploma, but thank god that I got my diploma man, because without it, I would have to go get my G.E.D. just to go to college, and that is just a waste of time. I brought that up because I want you to know that I’m a over achiever.
    When it comes to work, I’m a workaholic. I’m a perfectionist. I strive for success and be on top of my game. I love working with people. I’m a good listener. I can handle the pressure. I fight for what I believe in. Okay enough about me. This is what I would love to do if I do get chosen to work in So So Def.

    1. I can do hair, my mom is a license Beautician, I grew up learning how to do hair from my own mom. I can do it all, braid, cut, style, color, relaxers, perms, texturizers, you name it, I do it all. Me and mom would do business with you just for Dondria.

    2. I do photoshop and video editing, that’s what I’ve took in college last semester. I have been doing photoshop for about 4 years now. If you like, I can show you my work that I did for Butta Creame 2 years ago. If you don’t know who Buta Creame is, i’m about to tell you. They first made an appearance on BET’s “106 & Park” as Sweet Dream back in 2007. They were discovered by Diamond Blue from Pretty Ricky and were signed to BlueStar Entertainment, but are now screwed since their contract with Blue Star Entertainment is now expired, which sucks because Diamond Blue drop them from their label.

    5. I can be a very good promoter. I would make shore that I promote Dondria’s album 24/7 from my Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and have my friend’s spread the word. The best idea that I can think of is if Dondria performs live at Walmart, Kmart, etc. It’s a good way to get people’s attention even if they don’t know who she is yet. People are going to want to see more of her, and would want to SUPPORT her. This is what I would do if I’m in her shoes. I would show up in random places to have people come up to me, to interact with me, to take a picture with me, and to want my autograph.
    But lets say if I was to be sign as your promoter. I would book a venue for her to perform in. I would book shows in a variety of venues. I would promote the show/album to the local media and put up posters. Man I would do it all, too much to explain, but If you choose me, you would never be disappointed.

    6. I can be Dondria’s mentor and friend. I love comforting people. I’m like a mother or a sister sort of. I’m very wise beyond my years. I seen a lot and been through a lot. I would have a heart to heart conversation with the person and help correct whatever this person is thinking/going through into a positive. I’m someone that you can be trusted. I’m a loyal and honest person.

    That’s pretty much it.

    Whoever read’s this might be thinking “WTF?” LOL. But I don’t care what people think. This is me, someone who is driven and would do anything just to have a better life for myself. If what you read did not convince you enough, than there is nothing else I can do to prove to you that I’m it. Because there is no one else that would do what I’m doing right now. This is like desperate to the fullest, but it’s nothing compare to twitter tweaks. I typed all this for a reason. I hope the best for everyone who do make it. Thanks for reading 🙂

  38. Do I think bad videos hurt good songs? Nope. Prime example. Look at Xscape. Just kickin it is probably the roughest R&B girl group video i have ever seen. Look at My little secret. TOTALLY different. Hell Look at Ciara from Goodies to Ride…totally different. I can name a million examples, Brandy, Monica, Destiny’s Child. Nobody starts out on top, its something you build to. Each video progressively gets better. We gotta be in this for the long haul so LEGGGOOOOOOOOO! lol

    5. I can be a very good promoter. I would make shore that I promote Dondria’s album 24/7 from my Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and have my friend’s spread the word. The best idea that I can think of is if Dondria performs live at Walmart, Kmart, etc. It’s a good way to get people’s attention even if they don’t know who she is yet. People are going to want to see more of her, and would want to SUPPORT her. This is what I would do if I’m in her shoes. I would show up in random places to have people come up to me, to interact with me, to take a picture with me, and to want my autograph.
    But lets say if I was to be sign as your promoter. I would book a venue for her to perform in. I would book shows in a variety of venues. I would promote the show/album to the local media and put up posters. Man I would do it all, too much to explain, but If you choose me, you would never be disappointed.

    6. I can be Dondria’s mentor and friend. I love comforting people. I’m like a mother or a sister sort of. I’m very wise beyond my years. I seen a lot and been through a lot. I would have a heart to heart conversation with the person and help correct whatever this person is thinking/going through into a positive. I’m someone that you can trust. I’m a loyal and honest person.

    That’s pretty much it.

    Whoever read’s this might be thinking “WTF?” LOL. But I don’t care what people think. This is me, someone who is driven and would do anything just to have a better life for myself. If what you read did not convince you enough, than there is nothing else I can do to prove to you that I’m it. Because there is no one else that would do what I’m doing right now. This is like desperate to the fullest, but it’s nothing compare to twitter tweaks. I typed all this for a reason. I hope the best for everyone who do make it. Thanks for reading 🙂

  48. I think you should try getting ppl to pre oder the album. You could offer a private chat with her and a special message from her to the fans that order early. You could offer a 1 time private chat with you about tips on how to get started for the fan that buy the most copies. If it is to late to offer pre orders you could offer these things to the person that buy the most coies of the album.

  49. JD! Once again this is SJ! the creator of “Team Tyrone” and I have some serious ideas for the marketing of Dondria and her work. I was wondering if I could get a phone confrence or something to convey my ideas and help make Dondria be the superstar artist you want her to be. R&B isn’t noticed the way it should be and I know that if I had the oppurtunity to work with you we could change things and bring all the notoriety and profit back to So So Def! I hope you recieve this message and not pass it up! Take into account the “Team Tyrone” campaign I started and how that skyrocketed Tyrone’s fanbase.
