TALK TO ME!!!

WHAT UP LIFERS?? AS YOU KNOW NELLY AND I PARTIED IT UP THIS WEEKEND HERE IN ATL .WE DID A CHARITY BOWLING EVENT ON THURS TO HELP THE FLOOD VICTIMS WHERE WE RAISED LIKE 80K. BUT THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT DIDN’T CHANGE THE WHOLE WEEKEND AND THATS NIGGAS WITH NO RECORDS, NO VIDEOS, NO NOTHING STEADY TRYIN TO BE IN VIP WHY??? SO MY QUESTION TO YALL IS WHAT IS ABOUT THE LIGHT THAT EVERYBODY SEEMS TO WANT? BECAUSE ITS NOT ALL PLAY PLAY, I PERSONALLY GET TIRED OF TAKING PICTURES, WAKING UP EARLY, AND ALOTTA OTHER STUFF THAT COMES ALONG WITH IT. ANOTHER QUESTION IS DO YOU BELIEVE BEING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS IS THE MOST WANTED JOB OF THIS DECADE??

TALK TO ME!!!

  1. Yep. People want what they see. They want the money, money and the cars, cars and the hoes. They don’t see the hard work. Seriously the only reason some people want to be famous is because the life they have now sucks. Do you really think Rick Ross, Plies, Lil Boosie, or hell even Lil Wayne could pull the chicks they pull if they weren’t in the industry and had money. Being famous used to be glamorous and hard to attain. But this society makes people famous for bullshit. Reality shows, internet videos, its fucking ridiculous and I’ll pass on all of it.

  2. IDK…..People want this attention…they want the glam life, the money, the recognition, but obviously they are producing anything. They want that bragging right. Ex: yeah, I was in VIP with JD, Usher, Nelly, and the rest of the oceans at compound this weekend. I guess it sounds good to people who missed the event.

    PHX….www.941thebeat.com keyword: Phoenix

Lifer in the house ! POW

  3. people are hungry for some shine and all the good stuff not the hard work and all the other fustrations and problems that may come with it.

  4. I don’t think that entertainment is the most wanted job of this decade…it’s the money that is wanted. I think on the outside it seems that the entertainment business is the easiest way to get it. You really don’t need a degree…people feel if you have an ounce of talent and can sell yourself, they can make it.

Secondly, people don’t want to put in the work. I think people take the notion “it’s who you know” to the next level. I think people expect to skip so many level because they “know” someone instead of actually working in the “mailroom” and building a career. They don’t realize to make it to Ocean status that they must first become a water vapor…to a puddle…to a pond…to a lake…to a river and then hopefully to a Ocean. You get my analogy, right?!

  5. It’s the illusion of the entertainment industry that gets to people, I don’t really think they want IN the business just the perks that they think come with it.
Not me personally, but people see the play, play aspect of what ya’ll do & fantasize about having people screaming their names & shit like that. They want in that VIP to feel like they are important LOL.

JD,U did a good job in ur book of explaining that there’s a whole hell of a lot more to the entertainment business than what we see, but shit like that goes over people’s heads most of the time. Either that, or they figure that they can withstand all of that when it’s not as easy as it seems SMH.
The younger generation sees people like Souldja Boy ( & NO, I’m not knockin his hustle)….& they don’t see what his grind was or his backstory, all they see is the outcome of it & think, “well I can do that too, seems easy enough”. I think they’re fooling themselves into believing that they don’t have to work hard for anything.
    That’s all………for now.

  6. I think, its the part about being seen and being known. Its the idea of how “good” or “better” life would be being apart of the “exclusive” society. I think people beast to be in VIP because in strange insecure way it makes them feel validated as a person. Many crave it yet at the same time don’t really understand in its entirety what comes along with it. They don’t ask themselves what have I done (in a hardworking manner) to deserve to be in VIP or “the lime light”.

As for the 2nd question,I personally don’t however I do believe that with some people being in the industry/E.B is their ideal job of the decade because in most cases they’re feeling like its the quickest way to become “rich”.. But in most cases some aren’t equipt to be in the industry because they lack the drive. They lack that desire to remain RELEVANT. They constantly forget that in the “business” (which applies in everyday life also) the results that you retrieve are a direct reflection of the work/effort that you put forth.

  7. Everybody want MONEY.Money draws and pull Girls, and so-called friends. They dnt see the Hard work and Pressure.ANd like You JD u done see everything that the World has to offer so guys like u might be a lil tired of theee LIGHT thats all Yall know come try living the Broke life. Its a Big difference struggling to PAY the white man. PEOPLE JUST GET TIRED OF THE NORM AND THATS EVERYBODY!!!

  8. Like kandi said…its what they see…tv glorifies the life…make it seem like all y’all do is play wit expensive toys and go on expensive vacations….if they put surgeons on tv like tht, erybody would wanna b a surgeon…ppl dnt realize tht there r a lot more rich ppl who aren’t entertainers…the richest ppl in the world aren’t entertainers

  9. Most people dont have there own IDENTITY so they try & align themselves with STARS…I’m a lifer no disrespect to those that put LTL to there name on twitter but i have my own IDENTITY to potray so my @TONGADUDE stayed the same, Same as when i go to the club i party & not go there to take pics with celebs

  10. Yes, the entertainment business is one of the most wanted jobs today because of the lifestyle that is presented to the masses and the fact it plays on our materialistic desires. Even with all the behind the scenes access (which society gets even more of today than before) people still see only what they want. I’m not even on your level, yet, but enjoying the journey but I feel you on the grind of the entertainment business but at the end of the day people are only going to see what they want.

  11. WELL I WAKE UP EARLY IN THE MORNING TO GO TO WORK…SO I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR YOU THERE…

EVERYBODY IN THE GAME NOW, HUSTLED BACK THEN!! YOU CAN’T HATE ON SOMEONE THAT WAS DOING THE SAME THING YOU DID…15+ YRS AGO. JD EVEN THOUGH YOUR FATHER WAS IN THE BUSINESS I’M SURE THAT DIDN’T STOP YOU FROM GRINDIN’ HARD.

I’M SURE YOU DISLIKE CERTAIN ASPECTS OF YOUR CAREER, BUT WOULD YOU CHANGE IT….HELL NO YOU WOULDN’T JD!!

AS LONG AS THE FLASHING LIGHTS POPPIN, THERE WILL BE PEOPLE GRINDING OR JUST TRYING TO BE IN THE PICTURE. AND SHIT…LOOK WHERE YOU LIVE…ATL…EVERYBODY IS A WANNABE CELEBRITY LOL

  12. I THINK IT’S LIKE 00711 SAID ON THE ONE EPISODE OF LTL PEOPLE JUST WANT WHAT THEY SEE ON TV. PEOPLE DONT REALIZE HOW MUCH HARD WORK GOES INTO BEING A WELL KNOW ARTIST/SONGWRITER OR MUSIC PRODUCER. THEY JUST SEE PEOPLE HAVIN FUN AND GETTING PAID SO THATS WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE THEY THINK IT LOOKS EASY SO THEY THINK THEY CAN DO IT TOO! NIGGAS DONT UNDERSTAND THAT IT ONLY COMES EASY WHEN YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO! IF YOU DONT LOVE MUSIC OR ACTING OR ANY TYPE OF CAREER IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD YOUR GONNA HAVE IT RUFF OR BETTER YET YOU AINT GONE BE ABLE TO SURVIVE! THE KEY TO JAY-Z’S SUCCESS IS THE LOVE AND PASSION HE HAS FOR MUSIC! THE WHOLE OCEANS CLICK IS AT THE TOP OF THEY GAME RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THE LOVE AND DESIRE OF DOING WHAT THEY DO! OF COURSE EVERYBODY WANTS TO LIVE A BETTER LIFE AND MAKE GOOD MONEY BUT PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO TO THE FULLEST YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MONEY CARS AND CLOTHING BECAUSE ITS GONNA EVENTUALLY COME TO YOU WEATHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT BUT YOU GOTTA LOVE FIRST! TO ME IF ANYBODY WANTS TO REALLY BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE AT ANYTHING JUST FALL IN LOVE WITH WHAT YOU DO AND GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST!

  13. @biggl48LTL- damn straight! Bill Gates & Steve Jobs were 2 computer geeks, I bet..no scratch that I KNOW they have more bank than entertainers.

    @Kandi- u forgot the sex tapes & nude/semi-nude pics too LOL——————>NEXT

  14. they want the MONEY..money & the CARS & Hoes i suppose….they think thats SUCCESSFUL!!! When i was younger i wanted it 2..however the more in depth i got..the least interesting it became…Sure u make a lot of money & people kno your name..but the way i see it..its kinda like selling your soul..you no longer control you. I do career classes with 6th to 12th grade & becoming SUCCESSFUL according to the indutry..is all they know..its kinda scary because wat abt the doctors, lawyers & the people who save ou lives???? I dont discourage them..just TEACH tem to always have a plan A-Z!!! Im not INTERNATIONALLY known..but the few who do know my name…D@MN!!!!=-)~ LOL!!!!
(MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE…..WHERE NOBODY KNOWs MY NAME!!!!!!)

  15. SUCCESSFUL = HARD WORK & PASSION=-) (ANYBODY CAN GET IT!!)

  16. Being in the entertainment business is not the most wanted job no, but because of all the fame, free stuff and special treatment and respect once claim to get.

J.d i am going to be honest, i think u r tired of it because u r in it, but if it wasn’t that way, u would want it, i guess, and i know its hard work too.

  17. It is absolutely amazing how we forget that once upon a time you were one of those very same people that you are talking about. I feel that it is very snobish to look down on someone because they have not had the success that you have had yet. The reason people are in the VIP is because you have to live whatever it is you believe to the fullest. It’s amazing how one day that same crew you are turning your nose up at could possibly blow up one day and you would be the first to be all on their dick. If you are a true fan of hip hop you would know that being in the LIGHT is how you get people interested in your crew, ask your boy Jay-Z about how Rocafella got people to take notice. Or is it you only see talented people after they become famous. I know your first response will be the list of artists you have made stars in this industry but, what are those artist doing right now that is relevant in this industry?

  18. Yh…I definetly agree with that. Majority of people these days want to be within the MUSIC INDUSTRY for all the WRONG reasons. Its not like back in the day, everyone has lost the love and passion of an entertainer to do what they wanna do.

They all think that all y’all do is PARTY PARTY AND PARTY there blinded to the fact that it takes ALOT of HARD WORK and REAL EFFORT and i mean EFFORT to get there.

Its like everyone thinks that the being apart of the entertainment industry is a fast track ticket to non-stop Partying, and girls/hoes….that is not how it goes down believe theres far more hard work and effort that needs to go down before the fun begins.

  19. VIP is a status symbol just like a nice car or a nice piece of jewelery is! Most people want the shine without the grind and so they go the easy route and just manipulate there way into VIP or try to be seen in there friends mercedes etc… We all want to be somebody, we all want to feel important it just that these types of people are insecure about themselves and use material items or status symbols to feel good about themselves!

  20. At the sametime being in the VIP is a form of self promotion for artists!

  21. I think people do think It’s easy , like they really do. I work with my brother HEAVY HITTER DJ.PHARRIS a lot and when we do after parties, concerts and private listening parties and It’s always a whole bunch of other cats trying to get in vip .. I’ve been around celebrities all my life and been at there cribs , studio’s and just out shooting the shit. Especially in the studio , i remember one time we was in the studio in Chicago with Lupe and this other mc came in , cause he was working at another studio. This kid walks in and he’s like yo i love your songs man like can i get on a joint with you , Lupe looked at him and was like ‘ What u go , let me hear something ” The dude freezes up couldnt say anything , and then he’s like well “Let me smoke first and ill come back .” Like this rapper is still trying to get on till this day , like he has no work ethic whats so ever..
People really do think It’s just so easy , and that you party all the time with beautiful women. It could be like that everyday but no one will be where they are today , if they did that everyday.. They will be what u call one hit wonders..LMAO !!
I love the game and that’s why my major is Music Management & Merchandising & and a minor in Event Planning .. I love a new artist , the grind on getting that record out to the people , the parties where people have a good time. I LOVE TELLING PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN VIP , IN A VERY PROFESSIONAL WAY !!

  22. Yeah it is the most wanted job because ppl will do anything to become famous. Most people do not see the hard work and all the things that comes with it. Some ppl will go on reality tv jus to become famous. Everyone wants that life so they can be rich and get anything that they want. Personally i do not want to become famous cuz i don’t want everyone knowin my bizness like c’mon son lol. Like drake say’s money and the cars…cars and the clothes….the hoes i just wanna be successful.

  23. I think its all about “things”. People see you with things lilke cars, clothes, shoes, anything thats new. It not so much that they want to be famous or in the spot light they want the things you have. Now the questions are they willing to put out the same kind of grind to be able to get those things. As far as the vip things i too hate it when its crowded its whats the point i might as well be on the floor cuz errbody in the vip.

  24. Seriously, Yeah I think entertainer is one of the most wanted job out there right now! That is because people see all the positive things…but not the negative ones. It is up to entertainers (like you) to bring the whole picture to the public face, not just the glamorous part.

What I want is the money! There are things you don’t have to worry about when you have the money like paying for your child education. Also, I want to make a difference in other people’s life (not that money is the only way to so)…but I would pass being in the light!
JD, I don’t think working hard (or getting up early) is a difference between all other people’s job and entertainer…My dad works every day (including weekends) near to 18hrs/day…because when he is not a the office he is still working home.

He showed me that by working hard you can make it everywhere. So that’s what I intend to do…Work hard and make it big in my own field (no need to be an entertainer)

  25. JD lets keep it 100% being black in white America VIP is our 40 acres & mule its nothing wrong with striving to become a walking billboard with a self worth of yourself also VIP is mostly were some of most important people be so its also a networking tool as while….. so if u don’t want 2 get up in the morning I’ll do it 4 u with no charge that’s how hungry I I’m ,how about this lets trade place 4 a day lets see how fast you be back in VIP,so in brace Ur status with open arms and remember LIFE IS A THEATER INVITE YOUR AUDIENCE CAREFULLY

  26. I don’t think it’s the people that have an issue!! You don’t know what it’s like to want what you have. You’ve heard stories your father may have told you or what you’ve seen, but tell me JD before you go tossing nephews out the window……..how did you get where you got? A friend in the industry once told me….his 1st job in the business was to trash all the Cd’s that were given to him by the people at the event. Now my son is an aspiring singer, songwriter and producer……I have to pull myself off the ground to hand someone his work…not because you may not like it, but because of what I know you gone end up doing with it. I work very hard to help him in any way possible and it was the most discouraging but truthful thing I’ve ever been told………You guys in the industry are still trying to be relevant and I don’t believe you want to see anyone take your shine…no different than ordinary people like myself are trying to get a head in life. 🙂

    Just my opinion!!! Stay Blessed
    Shalla Thangs

  27. we all see the blog videos and shit with dough being flossed, and the ladies acting crazy, and it looks hype and easy. go somewhere, talk on the radio, perform on stage, boost your ego, get on bus, move on, but i know its not. i have heard enough complaining in songs to realize there is something we’re missing. the best job is those professional poker players. they wake up whenever the fuck they want, go take money from scrubs, enter tournies for big pots, and keep it movin. entertainment industry would have me doing cocaine too. just to stay normal. lol. fuck the fame too. i get into to many shenanigans. i like everyday life. walking around vegas with my boy, hitting the strip, stumbling drunk everywhere, hittin up random bars being loud. i would be on the front cover of every magazine, every week. nicccccce. professional alternative sports athlete would be nice. doesnt seem like to bad of a gig. go somewhere on your bike, do some back flips, get some cheers, bang some random x games chicks, keep it movin.

  28. oh, and about the vip. i dont know what you mean? i dont get in vip for anyones interest but myself. no offense, but fuck a jd, im just not trying to be in that mosh pit sometimes. so you pay the cost to be the boss for the night. invite some chicks up, and get it poppin. vip to me is that night you want to feel like a star, and you want to stay the fuck out the crowd. but i dont need it ALL the time. thats stupid, and would cost to much. now if they just gettin vip just to be around ya’ll and be like this and that, thats whatever. my only concern in vip is my 1 or 2 boys im there with, and every single female in the crowd, even the chubby, cute white girl. you mad! fuck vip. its all about standing on the tables at the hofbrauhaus in vegas with a 1 liter beer in hand, singing german shit that i dont know the words to. its just a big slur of nonsense.

  29. I think it’s definitely the “illusion” of Hollywood that draws people into wanting that lifestyle. People want to feel special and live the “good life”. At times though, it seems like people are pressed just to breathe the same air as celebrities…lol…it’s crazy. I see celebrities in NYC from time to time and I never bother them because I think about how people must bug them all the time for pics, autographs, etc. In terms of wanting to be in the entertainment industry, I think a lot of people want it just for the perks, being around celebrities, getting invited to all the hottest parties, the girls, etc. Any person who is on top of their game in the entertainment industry and has been there for awhile, has to grind HARD to get there and stay. It’s no joke.

  30. I think that it is what everyone wants right now. I personally never wanted nor liked being the center of attention but thats hard to avoid being that I’m one of the top college djs in KY. If i’m not djing, I don’t like to be seen out cause everyone knows who I am and I can’t enjoy myself with out someone calling my name or asking for a favor.

  31. im not gonna lie, i have a cousin in the entertainment industry, i remember when i was younger and when we was cool, she stressed a lot over parts and rolls, havin to be in the right shape remembering the lines and long hours. even after seeing all the hard work she continues to go thru i still want in the industry. to bad we aint cool no more and get along anymore.

before i saw that however. i really did thought it was all easy. i thought taking rolls and shooting scenes was quick and easy, i never knew about the months of practicing, conditioning and etc. always on the road rarely home. i honestly think its worth tho. the out come if your smart is the american dream, but theres not to many folks out there that are smart about it.

as for the vip thing. damn it, im not famous or anything special and ive been vip soo much its crazy, i mean getting drinks on the house, havin that room for myself getting the special treatment, its great. so im livin proof u dont have to be a star or whatever for that lol. AND NO IVE NEVER PAID FOR VIP. HELL I WILL RARELY EVER PAY TO GO CLUBBIN. thats just me tho

  32. Yeah I don’t think they see hard work they just want to have fun they want what they see on the outside what you all have the bentley and the range rover the designer clothes I think everyone just want, want, want. And I’m telling the honest truth when I say this I wanted to be in the entertainment business but then to see everything that came with it all the drama, scandals, and ish I said hell no and being bothered all the time and no privacy and people using you. No way. After all that crazy ish I got in to a high status goverment job and I also do other things making as much money as some of the people in the entertainment business but that is not the point. The point is that you can also do other things and make money and live how you want without doing all that crazy stuff. BUT I STILL HAVE TO WAKE UP EARLY IN THE MORNING WAKE UP 5AM AND SOMETIMES DONT GET BACK UNTIL 8PM AND TIRED SOMETIMES BUT THAT IS JUST LIFE PERIOD. so life is hard either way it’s not easy. Nothing really comes easy for any of us. I work very hard for my money and what I have never for getting were I came from and always giving back. Trying to be in VIP I think is just everyone wanting the same thing FAME. And JD I understand that you do get tired but everyone gets tired. BUT YOU HAVE BEEN USE TO THIS LIFE FOR A WHILE. Just like many others have and WHEN YOU STOP AND IT’S NOT THERE ANY MORE because you are so use to having it that way WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO your going to want it back RIGHT?????
I think a few people might want that lifestyle but not alot of people want it anymore seeing what happens in that industry. And the drama.

My question for you JD and any of the other Ocean 7 boys is what would you do if you did not have this lavish lifestyle that you do have??? Now that you have become use to it. Would you want it back????

    -Ashley

  33. To all the people getting pissed with this man for wanting niggas to stay out of his space: Since when is stalking a dude a part of the grind? Ypeople have no clue what grinding is! Grinding is getting your butt out there and doing shows. Grinding is building a fanbase for yourself so that people have no choice but to take notice! Grinding is making mixtapes and CDs to perform for people. Grinding is selling discs out of the trunk of your car after you’ve starting creating a buzz. Grinding is performing in the club, not trying to find the dude that’s in VIP!!!! What the heck is wrong with y’all? How are you mad at him for wanting to be able to chill with his boys like everybody else can? You people just want it all handed to you. How stereotypically lazy of you all…

Now as far as your questions are concerned, JD…

Question 1 – People want the light because they’re very superficial. America, in general, is very superficial. They see what you guys boast about “Money Ain’t A Thing”. They see the cars, clothes, the party life, the money, the women, and the whole idea of “all the girls want you and all the guys want to be you”. They want to feel like something and they’ve been taught that your worth lies in what you have. Rappers have contributed to that; but it’s an idea that has perpetrated through our culture for decades. Black people still haven’t come to understand that big spending is just another way to ensure that we’ll never reach economic equality. We spend our entire lives trying to buy acceptance, respect, and admiration. Meanwhile, the non-blacks we rush to give all our money to are laughing all the way to the bank. It’s embarrassing.

Question 2 – No, the entertainment business is not the most sought after business. I say this because most white people have no desire to be in the music industry. They understand how saturated it already is and how little money an artist makes in comparison to CEOs , CFOs, and the like. Blacks are the only ones stuck on this “my son or I have to make it as a ball player or entertainer”. Other people want to be doctors, lawyers, business OWNERS, pharmacists, scientists, inventors, researchers, politicians, etc. Blacks are only 12% of this nation. Just because we’re lost does not mean that everybody is.

  34. People just want to be seen and want a piece of that fame for that short bit of time. Now like ever job I get tired of talking on the phone and dealing with people that I work with but it’s what we do and Jeramine ur no different. Take care and do what u do !

  35. It is as simple as this people want to network and meet the right people that seem to be where u are, and they want to be .

I don’t think its wrong you have to try an make the most of your surroundings and networks like we all do.
It is wrong if they don’t kwow how to approach you or have the progress to show but that want help.

Everyone got help from somewhere at some point you didn’t build everything yourself.

  36. FOR SOME STRANGE REASON IT IS BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT ATTENTION THEY WANT TO BE SEEN FAME IS A CONTAGIOUS DRUG. I BELIEVE PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY FAME IS A GOOD THING, BUT MYSELF PERSONALLLY I WOULD RATHER BE A WEALTHY NOBODY THAN BE BROKE AND FAMOUS. IT SEEMS WHEN THAT WHEN YOU ARE FAMOUS THEY (SO CALLED FANS OR ETC) LIKE YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE INSTEAD OF WHO YOU ARE. ESPECIALLY WHEN PAPARAZZI COME OUT AND RUSH YOU FOR PICS AND WHATNOT ITS ALL FUNNY TO ME, THOUGH. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS SEEM TO PLACE CELEBRITIES ABOVE REGULAR INDIVIDUALS LIKE WTF. I KNOW JD YOU GET TIRED OF FANS SCREAMING AND DAMN NEAR ABOUT TO FAINT BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU ARE AND IN YOUR MIND YOU LIKE “DAMN, I’M NO DIFFERENT FROM YOU” AND THAT ISH GETS AGGRAVATING. I DO BELIEVE BEING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS IS THE MOST WANTED JOB OF THIS DECADE BECAUSE ITS SO MUCH STUPID ISH TO DO TO BECOME FAMOUS FOR EXAMPLE TILA TEQUILA JUST JOKING. LOL

  37. I think being in the Light if ur a Lady could be ur a Groupie or your trying to get notice to be the next jumpoff. From a male perspective, it could be that your a male groupie or its just street cred because they doing a little something in Mr. Rogers neighborhood but they are not International. I think the best job in the world is doing what you have a passion for.

My tweet name is JayThompsonLTL and I approve this Msg. LOL

  38. Just some thoughts(definition)wikipedia…A Very Important Person, or VIP, is a person who is accorded special privileges due to his or her status or importance.

Examples include celebrities, heads of state/heads of government, major employers, high rollers, politicians, high-level corporate officers, wealthy individuals, or any other notable person who receives special treatment for some reason. ***(In some cases, such as tickets to events, VIP may be used in a similar way to premium, and can be purchased by anyone)***. The term was coined between 1940 and 1945,[1] by the Royal Air Force.[2] The term often may be used in a facetious or sarcastic manner, depending on the context in which it is being used.

People in need of a lil’ separation from the crowd for whatever reason are entitled to the service or “privilege”. So get ur VIP on people!

  39. I think most on here are frontin. haha. People act like they are “bigger” than all this but in reality, we are a power hungry society. Everyone on here saying ” I don’t need it” can’t tell me that if an opportunity arose where you can make millions of dollars doing something you love and have the power of fame (i.e. get free stuff just because you are you, get into any club you want), they wouldn’t take it. Come on now. Everyone understands its a tough job being an entertainer. But so is waking up at 6AM morning cleaning JD’s toilet before he gets to his complimentary Hotel room (with no recognition of how sparkly you made it). I think I would rather be JD in that situation any day.
No disrespect JD, but I agree, I think you are tired of it because you have been involved in it for most of your life. Anything in excess is tiring and you suddenly get bored of it. Just like when you hear the stars complain how they wish they had a “normal” persons life, so you hear us “normal” folks saying I wish I had a star’s life. We seem to all want what we can’t have.
In reality. We ALL seem to want it easy. You complain on your end about how hard it is to be a star even with the perks that you have and we regular folks complain how hard it is to be regular even though we dont have to be stalked by paparazzi’s daily and we can see our family every night. We collectively seem to forget that its hard work on both ends. I guess its easier to see your end as being easier because money makes everything ALOT easier to deal with. At least if you decided to quit the spotlight (which you CAN) you are able to still feed your family for the rest of yours and probably their lives. And you will eventually gain your privacy back when you stop putting yourself out there. And eventually people will not be hawking you for pics anymore or asking you to fly for some shows BUT you will still have the money to keep everyone well off. Where as if we had to quit our day job, we would be…welll……dead.
So who really has a bumb deal?

  40. Question to you JD is….WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE LIGHT THAT THEY SHOULD NOT WANT?

No the entertainment business is not the most wanted job in the decade. It just happens that the ILLUSION, HOOPLA, and DELUSION of being in it makes people want to be a part of it! Especially the $$!

  41. Most wanted Job…NO!
People want something other that what they have sometimes….like an escapism from the oridinary day to day. What u see on TV or clubs that clebs are doing looks all bling bling fun. Everyone wants to be ur friend and want a piece of the good life. But until one sits back to see the WHOLE picture does one realize that the Limelight can take away ones personal space and freedoms.
I’d luv to party and have a following like a celeb, but to be watched with every move or word i speak…no thank you.
People want the fun and glitz, not realizing the reality of the other side that you pay as a celeb.
I’d like to play the “INTY” part. Close enough to the action to enjoy, but not loosing my own identity.
JD, u want a female INTY…call this girl. I’ll gladly be the “white guys” INTY!!!!! LOL

  42. I figure its not all play, play . i’m use to working two jobs promoting parties for my now ex boyfriend and take all the pictures from the party and have it up by the next morning before i gotta go to work.. i think i could handle it for sure i love music everything about it i wanna be a singer or something in the music industry. i’m very good at doing lots of stuff at one time… but i hate when people wanna be in the vip section and they don’t know how to act they don’t know what it takes i’m use to alot of attention me and my twin sister will go out and people just rush us like are famous i live in canada i don’t think it would happen the states but i get the life and i still would wanna be in light

  43. I think the “light” is something some folks think is easy to obtain when in reality it isn’t. It’s hard enough to get your foot in the door for an everyday job let alone being an entertainer. Everyone thinks they’re the next big thing when the next big thing is already on the radio, on the field, on the cover of a magazine, and/or on the tv. So they try to take a shortcut and roll up in your VIP section whether you want them around or not. LOL I just hope you’re semi polite when you remove them from your zone Jermaine. LOL

As for your second question, I think with the economy the way it is now there will be more folks trying to get in it to make life better but are finding it to be a lot harder than they realized it would be.

  44. I don’t know if everyone wants to be in the “light”. The real powerful people are not in the “light” as far as I see it. The artists are the puppets. There are a lot of people who don’t have talent who are in the business, but for whatever reason they are all over the place. Then there are a lot people who have talent who never make it for whatever reason. People see the glamorous life of artists and producers and think that it is like that 24/7 and for most of the time it is not–it is a job that has a lot of drawbacks–lack of privacy, false lawsuits, people all in your business like they know you, easy access to booty/future baby mamis/papis and drugs and such. Some people want the fame, some people want the fortune, some people just want to make the music. Some people do not respect musicians/artists’ careers like they do a doctor or a billionaire computer geek. A lot of insecure people are in the “light”.

  45. JD, why said about this that there post you and Janet back together, bolg web I just said you .
I saw pic of 2 together in paris. please please left comment back to us.

  46. Alot of people think it’s fast and easy money but they don’t know it’s hard work, alot of stress and damn near no freedom.

  47. JD these guys want a break. They want to get a “Fast Break”. Since they had the chance to be around you, they feel that
you would understand their angle and give them a chance to shine. On The Other Hand, Some may not understand how the game really works. It’s definetly not like the Berry Gordy days. Artists don’t understand that you literally have to push yourself. You gotta have money to make money these days. Too many are dressed up wih no place to go. That’s what it is when you run into that wall of promotion and distribution. This is a serious business. Most majors ain’t talkin until you make major moves. Unless you have superstar status, noone will put big dollars behind your projects. Even then they want you to give up something. Dealing with people is another story alltogether. The thing I see too is everybody sound like somebody else. Why would you waiste time doing a project if it’s not refreshing and new.
It went from sean combs style to jeezy with the jail house chants and beat patterns to jeezy/soldier boy lyric patterns with a little bit of twista and it locked right there. Now most singing acts use the same scales. You can almost pinpoint
the bridge and match the chorus before you even hear it. Lastly, most of these regular no name artist realize that once they get there they might not feel they want it as much after all. I can say that I would like to be team member on a lot of major projects in preproductions. That’s about it. The fame is NOT where my head is right now. I plan to do some positive stuff for the youth as well.

  48. Hey Lifers! I’m not that late 2day huh? What up Dondria/Phatffat, girl you are doin the damn thang! (smile) I was wondering about the Top 10 Southern Rap Albums……….results please!!! C’mon Son

Now as far as the LIGHT…..People always want what they think is better than, the sh*t they got. The whole grass is always greener thing. But what they don’t understand is the grind MOST celebrities have to go through, b/c of BS reality tv – video vixens hype – ‘overnight’ sensations – and celebs that make it look too easy. The cars, clothes, vacay photos, girl action, guy action and definitely the $$$$ – make the light look nothing but FABULOUS. There needs to be more Behind the Music, Life After, and True Hollywood Story shows that go into the core of what it takes to make it. This generation was raised on How to be a Millionaire, The Fabulous Life of…, and Reality TV success. They think if life sucks then a touch of any shine gotta be better. VIP gives them the means to rub elbows wit stars, and nowadays that means you’re a ‘star’ too! If you’re in a picture with a celebrity 2day, you’re on TMZ, EXTRA, Inside Edition, and the local news by 2morrow. Its crazy out here and getting crazier daily.
Women are actually going to their homegirl’s house now to pickup some a**! They stopped going over her house to get their hair done or to gossip, and now they’re getting DIY butt implants done. Don’t laugh b/c this ish is serious and some are losing their lives for dat JLo booty. I’m not sure if its lack of health insurance, lack of supervision, or just lack of funds; but do-it-yourself booty needs to be unaccessible. Why are they doing this? They wanna be the big booty girl in the next video or mag cover, and they don’t care if they have to end up in the ER to get there. No value for their own life, just gotta get to the LIGHT.
YES, I think that the entertainment business is the most DESIRED job of the decade. B/C the fools hypnotized by the light are doing anything to get put on nowadays. Stalkers and paparazzi are getting as much LIGHT as the celebs they’re victimizing. Stalkers don’t need special skills just the opportunities to present themselves. NOW if you are in the right place at the right time and have a camera phone, YOU are the new paparazzi. Where are all the layoffs, dropped contracts, unsuccessful auditions, stereotyped casting calls and PINK slips in the entertainment biz? Do they just get auto-tuned out? This situation is getting more and more dangerous by the day, and I hope it to shall pass. But more real talk is needed for these young people, b/c 2days latch*key kids are having DREAMS of being the next one showcased in the LIGHT of 2days entertainment business!

  49. I THINK PEOPLE JUST SEE THE ATTENTION AND ALL THA FREE SHIT,PARTIES,GIRLS ECT.. BUT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAINTAIN YA STATUS BCUZ IF YOU DROP THA BALL FOR 1 DAY YA AZZ WILL GET LEFT BEHIND..I PERSONALLY WOULDN’T WANT THA FAME MAYBE SOME OF THA MONEY..LOL BUT ON SOME REAL SHIT PEOPLE ARE TO NOSY WANTING EVERY DETAIL ABOUT YA PERSONAL LIFE AND SHIT..I COULD ONLY IMAGINE ALL THA DUMB ASS QUESTIONS YOU GET ON THA DAILY..BUT BESIDES ALL THAT WHEN YALL NICCAS PARTY I AINT GON LIE THAT SHIT LOOKS FUN..LOL AND IT’S TO MANY FAKE MUTHAFACKAS IN THA ENTERTAINMENT BIZZ I’D RATHER DEAL WITH THA 5 IN MY LIFE NOW RATHER THAN THOUSANDS..I GIVE IT TO YOU THO YOU A TOUGH MAN I THINK I WOULD’VE CRACKED A LONG TIME AGO(REAL SHIT) LIKE THEY SAY SOME PEOPLE ARE BUILT FOR IT AND SOME NOT AND I’M ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO’S NOT..

  50. man, fuck all this. point blank, i dont know any fucking body who would give up being a celeb, or semi celeb making even only a 100k a year, to going back to where they came from, which is usually not where they want to be. 2 months of regular life, and anybody in the industry will be crawling back wanting to work extra harder. people just get comfortable, thats all. i dont know to many dudes who wanna be like, yeah, i work at blockbuster, whatup shorty. ha ha. even though most of society are just average folks. its funny how a girl might play you if she dont wanna hear what you got to say from her 5 questions they always ask because $%%^ are not creative enough to not ask those same 5 questions, but yet they might be jobless like shit. off topic

  51. fo da last ?, HELL YEAH. I mean no one wants to live in da slums da owe lives, we rather be livin da life, like u, even though it may ruff. It beats not paying the bills on time at anytime. I know I don’t won’t to be stuck at the bottom my whole life. I wasn’t born for that, kept the pot to piss in, hand me the picasso. and thats REAL

  52. I dnt think being in the entertainment business is something tht everybody wants/most sort after gigs……me personally, would much rather just get paid well to do wht I love!!!! I can do without the fame! Tht shit is annoying/tiring seeing pics of the same pple everyday doing a bunch of nothing….!

  53. haha bootyinyoface gotta love dat name

  54. @ anita hey quick ? how do you upload a pic on here

  55. VIP stands for Very Important Person. I don’t recall you having to have a record deal, video etc to be important. The thing people don’t understand or realize is that the richest people in the WORLD, most people don’t recognize or can even recall their names. Why do people think that people that have record deals or have a video out are important or rich??? That’s a good question…and why do they think they’re so important that the average person isn’t “worthy” of being in the same VIP area as themselves? No shade to J.D but I feel I’m an important person and will be in VIP in every club I go to…and I wont feel out of place. I think most people are successful in their own right. Id rather be successful and unknown in VIP than well known in VIP and owing everyone an explanation for my every move. At the end of the day…there is still a party going on in VIP so just have a good time with the people that paid just as much or maybe more than you to be there…

  56. As far as being in the VIP, that’s all about trying to be fly for the ladies.. Being seen in the VIP gives the impression that you have money or status, both of which can help you get ladies much more easily.

Now as far as the music industry being the most wanted job… it’s like being the neighborhood dope boy. The music industry is the only industry where you have teenage millionaires. Not in sports, law, medicine, or any other legal profession can you get rich with no formal training or education. Young folks see musicians their own age living the life and they want to be like them. I am not saying that the music industry is an easy field, but if all you see is videos and concerts where everybody is having a ball, you don’t know about all the work on the back end…. and folks don’t realize that only 1 in 50 million folks make any money in the industry without decades of hard work behind them.

Nobody ever sees all the work and struggle put in behind the scenes for people to get to the perceived level of success they have attained.

@NoFront I do want the power… but fame is what I can do without. I like to be able to do whatever I want, whenever I want, but I do not like for everybody to know what I am doing.

  57. yes everyone want light cars money cribs and bitchies oh my god hell yes !!!! im mean even the everyday man is trying to out shine each other go to any strip club in the world broke niggas throwing away their rent $ child support $ etc but yes i do feel yall pain wouldnt it be nice to have all that and the bitchies and really be able to what you like im retired and im 37 and im no star and i definitely cant get the bitches yall fuck and dump on a regular basis so lets trade for aweek you would love it o i will leave the lotion on the hight stand homie and gin in the freezer all most forgot my fat neihbor wants to give you some head when the stories go off

  58. wassup jd. its been a minute 4 me but anyways i am back. i was in the biz a little bit with the whole original making the band w/ o-town. i know people dont remember that 1 but anyways what i observed is most people have the strong desire 2 feel and/or appear important. i mean lets not 4get that v.i.p means very IMPORTANT person. so if they can get in a “v.i.p” section then they feel that validates them as an important person. besides who doesnt want 2 party with celebrities? warren sapp is my 1st cousin and i use 2 try 2 ride that wave until someone said 2 me ‘so what, u r not him so who r u?’ that changed my thoughts 4 myself but i can relate 2 that need 2 feel important. janet even said it on the velvet rope, ‘we all have the need 2 feel special’. i think people go 2 far with it these days. u have been V.I.P 4 so long that u probably dont know what its like on the other side of that rope. even if no one knows who u r, when they see u in v.i.p they r wondering who must u be 2 even be there so they automatically assume u r someone important. i know that 4 a fact, been there done that. and truthfully people think becoming famous is the best way 2 become a v.i.p. even though celebs such as urself try 2 expose us of the tireless work and over-the-top bullshit u all have 2 go through a lot of the times, we would still trade in our lives 4 one like urs in a minute. i agree that people need 2 have their own identities but that is not what it always is about. i can honestly say that i would rather have the problems that come with being a “v.i.p” with fame and fortune than the day 2 day struggles that i am currently dealing with. thats my truth. thanks jd. i appreciate u

  59. If the fame brings money and perks then I’d just have to deal with it. Otherwise, fuck the fame, just give me the money. Fame brings drama in my opinion. I’m not a people person so I don’t understand people’s need to be seen. And I don’t front, what you see is what you get. So the fame would be a big negative for me.

I admire the way Beyonce deals with fame. The machine around on top of what does and doesn’t get out about her.

  60. @ijusthkdifrentLTL http://www.gravatar.com 😉

  61. WHAT IS ABOUT THE LIGHT THAT EVERYBODY SEEMS TO WANT?

Well everybody do not want that type of light. Some of us just prefer to live a normal life, sit back and watch celebrities/dignitaries like yourself rise, fall and hopefully get back up.
But for the ones who do want to be in the light you, I guess they want that same thrill and recognition you receive. JD it differs from person to person. Living the life for some is to be surrounded by family and simple things. For people like you and the ones who want to be like you /// Living the Life is fortune, fame and that So-Called Light. On the real, I can only speak for myself, and I must tell you the only light I am chasing is The Ultimate One. I just want to be more like Jesus. I want his divine light to shine through me so it can lighten up this dark world.

DO YOU BELIEVE BEING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS IS THE MOST WANTED JOB OF THIS DECADE??
I do not believe ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS is the most wanted job of this decade. Entertainment will always be around. People come and go. Today you maybe on top, next week you maybe on bottom. For the most part, you must be exceptional to stay on top in the entertainment business. An even the most elite, fall and fade away.

The most wanted jobs of this decade are in the field of technology and networking. For example, JD without technology Gobal 14 would not be up and running, not to mention the promotion of music videos via iphone, mp3’s, ipod’s, computers, satellite radio and etc. Technology and networking in this decade have enabled Entertainment Moguls like yourself to become bigger than ever …

  62. Well me personally I would take the money and forget the fame..I like having anonymity..I wanna be able to go where I want to go freely..the industry is a business just like any other business and at one time in my life I had the opportunity to c how it worked first hand..I used to do pr and for me it just seemed like a party atmosphere most of the time and days that work could go on forever..alot of celebs saw the parties and stuff as more of a networking tool and many seemed bored with that type of lifestyle..money affords things tho including VIP shoot I feel like we all can be important ppl as long as u can pay to be there..it’s a big facade and it contributes to ppls narcism..I don’t care how much money a person has I treat a person who has two dollars the same way I would someone who has two million.. I think that’s why alot of celebs have a hard time down the road if their star doesn’t shine nemore cuz they have been put on a pedestal..come to believe that it’s only about the
and when ppl aren’t checking for them in the same way it hurts their ego..ppl can pay their way in VIP but so what humility is a better quality..ppl want to shine in VIP because they want to feel as special as the celebs who are made to feel that way…I would take the money and I don’t need the shine

  63. well i personally feel that its the fame and the shine that people see the celebs recieve, and they want that same fame, so they figure they could get it by trying to gimmick what they see. but they are a few people who have talent and really want it, but there are also people who just want to be seen. thats my perception on the whole situation.

  64. People lately rather be famous for no other reason then to be noticed (not even for the C.R.E.A.M.) and some have made serious coin doing so (reality tv stars, famous celebrity friends turned celebrities, etc) but most don’t and just have those 15 minutes of fame to cling too.

No one wants to work hard to develop a talent that’s worth of fame and notoriety.

They also don’t realize all the hard work it takes to stay relevant in the entertainment industry as well.

There was a time people were famous for being great at their craft and not for getting their taco or dick published in tabloids or fucking some ‘D’ lister on film.

The sweet is never as sweet without the sour.

  65. People want to be in VIP to feel exclusive. Women want to be in it to feel important but men wanna be in to get pussy plain and simple. They do not realize that VIP was invented to get you guys to over pay for drinks and keep you from getting attacked by fans and haters alike. I personally would prefer to be on the floor up on some booty sweating up my Tom Ford blazer.

Wanting to be a recording artist was the most wanted career of the 90’s before we learned the truth about how cats get raped. Knowing how labels don’t pay artists and especially now that the market is sour and downloading is at an all time high not at all do we want that to be our lives. When we saw Hammer, TLC, and other multiplatinum selling acts filing for bankruptcy and being dragged into court for tax evasion we figured out it was real… at least I did. I hung up my rapper dreams and went to college now I am an advertising rep. Eventually I’ll have my own firm and I will have the fortune, ya’ll can keep the fame. Most wanted job of the 2000’s is to be famous for doing nothing or being a reality TV star LOL!

  66. THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS IS THE MOST WANTED JOB OF THIS DECADE, TRUST ME IT IS! BACK THAN MUSIC WAS BASED ON TALENT. NOW DAY’S EVERYTHING NOW IS BASE ON COMPEITION ON WHO SELLS THE MOST RECORDS AND ECT. THAT’S THE REASON WHY MOST RAPPERS IN THE INDUSTRY TODAY STRIVE TO BE ON THE TOP. IT ALL STARTED BACK IN 1997 WHEN HIP HOP STARTED TO CHANGE FOR THE WORST. FOR SOME REASON PEOPLE SEE RAP MUSIC IN A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE BACK IN THOSE DAYS. THAT’S BECAUSE MOST BLACK PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHAT REAL HIP HOP IS. TRUST ME, THEY CAN’T EVEN NAME ONE OLD SKOOL HIP HOP ARTIST IN THE 80’S BESIDES TUPAC AND BIGGIE. I’M TALKING ABOUT THESE YOUNGSTERS FROM 15 YEARS OLD UP TO 27 YEAR OLDS OUT THERE THAT ACT LIKE HIP HOP IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THEM. IF YOU SEE IT NOW, KIDS ARE MORE HUNGRY THAN EVER TO GET A RECORD CONTRACT. THEY WISH THEY WERE ONE OF THE RAPPERS RIGHT NOW; THEY WISH THEY HAD ALL THOSE GIRLS, THEY WISH THEY HAD ALL THEM MONEY, THEY WISH THEY HAD ALL THEM CARS, AND THEY WISH THEY HAD ALL THEM BLING.
MY HOMEBOY ONCE TOLD ME THAT IF HE DROPS OUT OF SCHOOL, HE’S GONING TO PERSUE A MUSIC CAREER. HE SAID THAT BACK WHEN I WAS 15 IN THE 9TH GRADE. HE’S NOW SELLING DRUGS AND LIVING IN CRACK HOUSES. MONEY TO HIM IS WHAT’S IMPORTANT THAN HIS EDUCATION. HE STILL WANT TO PERSUE A MUSIC CAREER, BUT TO BE HONEST, HE CAN’T RAP FOR SHIT. HE CAN’T EVEN DO A 16 BAR, THAT’S HOW BAD HE IS. THINK ABOUT IT, WHY DO PEOPLE SELL DRUGS? TO GET MONEY. WHY YOU THINK PEOPLE SELL THEIR BODIES? TO GET MONEY, A WHOLE LOT OF IT. INSTEAD OF WORKING HARD FOR THE MONEY THE NORMAL WAY, THEY WANT TO DO IT THE EASY WAY. THAT’S CALLED GETTING THAT FAST MONEY. A LOT OF PEOPLE IN MY HOOD WANT A MUSIC CAREER IIGHT, THEY THINK IT’S ALL PIECE OF CAKE, AMM NO IT’S NOT, HAVING A MUSIC CAREER IS A HARD FAST PASTE LIFE. PEOPLE THINK IT’S THAT EASY!!! FUCK NO IT’S NOT. SINCE I WAS 9 YEARS OLD I BEEN TRYING TO GET SIGNED WITH A RECORD DEAL. AT 9 YEARS I WAS AUDITIONING TO BE ON BARNEY AND FRIENDS AND I COULDN’T MAKE IT BECAUSE THEIR WAS OVER 100 KIDS THAT WERE MORE TALENTED, HARD WORKING, AND BETTER READERS THAN ME. HAVING A CAREER IS A HARD JOB, YOU GOTTA BE BORN WITH THAT GIFT, YOU GOTTA BE DRIVEN TO ACHIEVE, YOU GOTTA HAVE IN YOUR SOUL ALREADY TO HAVE A LONG TERM CAREER.
IT’S JUST CRAZY HOW PEOPLE WITH NO TALENT ARE GETTING SIGNED LIKE THERES NO TOMMORROW. NOW DAY’S, YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE TALENT TO GET SIGNED. NOW DAY’S THE INDUSTRY IS LOOKING FOR SWAGGA… SWAGGA!!! SWAGGA!!! SWAGGA!!!!!! THAT’S ALL YOU GOTTA HAVE TO CATCH A PERSON’S ATTENTION. I GOT A WHOLE LOT OF SWAGGA, BUT I STILL DIDN’T MAKE IT, THAT’S BECAUSE I’M TOO OLD SKOOL HEARTED TO BE RELAVANT. I PAID A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY TO CONTACT AN A&R, SHE LIKED MY MUSIC, BUT SHE SAID I WASN’T WHAT THE LABEL IS LOOKING FOR. I SAID “WHY IS THAT.” SHE STOP REPLYING. SO I DID A RAP TRACK INSTEAD AND YOU KNOW WHAT RESPONCE I GOTTEN? YEAH, IT’S NOT A DANCE TRACK, THEY LOOKING FOR THAT “DO THE RICKY BOBBY, DO THE SUPERMAN, DO THE JERK, DO THE STINKY LEG” AND ALL THOSE OTHER WACK RAP DANCE TRACKS LIKE THAT. AMM FUCK NO I AIN’T GOING TO MAKE A DANCE TRACK JUST TO GET SIGNED, THAT’S BULL SHIT!!!! I WISH I WAS 21 YEARS OLD IN THE EARLY 90’S, THAN MAYBE I WOULD HAVE BEEN SIGNED ALREADY. NO, THEY LOOKING FOR UN TALENTED ARTIST WITH A LOT OF SWAGGA. PLUS IT’S ALL ABOUT LOOKS NOW DAYS, THEY LOOKING FOR THAT EGDE IN A ARTIST. I HAVE A FUCKING EDGE ABOUT ME, BUT I STILL AIN’T SIGNED. I BEEN LISTENING TO MUSIC SINCE I WAS A BABY, A LOT OF PEOPLE DIDN’T LISTEN TO MUSIC UNTIL THEY WERE IN THEIR TEENS. SO HOW THE FUCK YOU KNOW ABOUT TUPAC AND BIGGIE? ALL KIDS CAN BRING UP IS TUPAC AND BIGGIE, THEY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THEY DIED, THAT’S HOW WERD IT IS. PEOPLE THINK THEY KNOW MUSIC, BUT THEY DON’T. WHAT THEY MORE FAMILAR TO IS TODAY’S HIP HOP MUSIC FROM 1997 TO NOW YEARS. THAT’S WHY MOST OF ALL THE ARTIST OUT RIGHT NOW ARE TOO SIMILAR WITH THEIR STYLE BECAUSE EVERYONE IS INFLUENCE BY EACHOTHER. YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN?

SO WHAT THOSE THAT TELL YOU? THAT PEOPLE JUST WANT TO SING OR RAP JUST TO BE LIKE THE ARTIST NOW DAYS. IT’S THE PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY’S FAULT FOR BRAIN WASHING KIDS WITH BULL SHIT MUSIC THAT ONLY SINGS AND RAPS ABOUT THE MATERIALIST STUFFS.

NOW IT’S 100 TIMES EASIER TO GET A MUSIC CONTRACT THAN EVER BEFORE! ALREADY 2 OF MY FRIENDS HAS GOT SIGNED A MAJOR/INDEPENDENT RECORD CONTACT THIS YEAR. BUT THEY DON’T KNOW MUSIC LIKE ME. I’M STILL STRUGGLING TO GET THIS RECORD CONTRACK AND I KNOW WHY. LET ME TELL YOU WHY IT’S HARD FOR ME TO GET A RECORD CONTRACT; FIRST OF ALL I’M VOCALLY TRAINED. I FIT THE CATEGORY OF A SOUL ARTIST THAN AN R&B ARTIST BECAUSE MY VOCAL ABILITY IS VERY STRONG. RIGHT NOW I’M COMPARED TO JAZMINE SULLIVAN AND JENNIFER HUSTON WHICH IS BAD BECAUSE THERES ALREADY 2 BIG VOICES IN THE INDUSTRY WHO ARE VOCALLY AT G BELOW MIDDLE C TO THE F ABOVE MIDDLE RANGE. I’M A BASS SINGER BY THE WAY, SO I CAN’T BE COMPARED TO THOSE TWO SINGERS BECAUSE I HAVE RANGE, THEY DON’T. I CAN ALSO GO SOPRANO IF I WANTED TO. BUT ANYWAYS, THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS TOPIC. MY POINT IS, THEY LOOKING FOR AN ARTIST THAT’S SOMETHING FRESH AND NEW. WHEN IT COMES TO SIGNING RAPPERS NOW DAYS, IT’S EASIER THAN SIGNING R&B ARTIST. LET ME TELL YOU WHY; WHEN IT COMES TO DEMO’S, THEY GOTTA HAVE A DANCE TRACK LIKE “DO THE RICKY BOBBY, DO THE SUPERMAN, DO THE JERK, DO THE STINKY LEG, AND ALL THOSE OTHER WACK RAP DANCE TRACKS LIKE THAT. IF THE TRACK IS THE SHIT, YOU GET SIGNED INSTANTLY, JUST LIKE HOW MY FRIEND GOT SIGNED EVEN THOUGH HER LAST DEMO WAS DISAPPROVED BECAUSE IT’S NOT A DANCE TRACK. THAT’S WHAT THE INDUSTRY IS LOOKING FOR NOW AND IT PISSES ME OFF. A&R’S ARE DUMB FORREALZ.

IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY MONEY MONEY NOW IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PERSUE A MUSIC CAREER IS BECAUSE OF THE MONEY. THEY WANT THAT G STATUS THAT THEY ALWAYS WANTED. THEY WANT THAT MONEY POWER AND RESPECT. THIS IS HOW THEIR EGO CAN FUCK UP EVERYTHING. PEOPLE NEED A REALITY CHECK FOR REAL. PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY GETTING THEIR SELVES INTO.

  67. I no longer want to comment.,I had a few things 2 say.,but neva mind *smh*

  68. see that shit right there just makes no GD sense.

  69. @Kandi…if you’re talking about what i think you are, girl look… i ignore comments by that chick. as soon as i see the name, i’m done.

  70. JD, you and Janet are back together are ture what post said

  75. nakita I’m sorry but you sound nothing like Jazmine and Jennifer…

  76. @AnitaLTL HOW YOU KNOW I DON’T SOUND LIKE JAZMINE AND JENNIFER? YOU NEVER HEARD ME SING BEFORE, WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT?

  77. nakita, your name is linked to your myspace page…we all can go to hear you just by clicking on one of your angry illiterate posts.

  78. @Christel——————DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!LMFAO

  79. @Christel WOW YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I DIDN’T KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT. (SHOCK :o)

@Christel WOW YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I DIDN’T KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT. (SHOCK )”

    yeah. i’m done with you.

  81. I DIDN’T SAY I SOUND LIKE JAZMINE AND JENNIFER. PEOPLE THAT HEARD ME SING TO THEM COMPARE ME TO THEM BECAUSE I’M THICK LIKE THEM RIGHT NOW AND I HAVE A LOW LOCAL RANGE. TONI BRAXTON YES!! JENNIFER AND JAZMINE NO, I DON’T THINK SO. MAYBE BECAUSE I OVER DO IT LIKE THEM, BUT ANYWAYS…

  82. @Christel WTF!! LMFAO.

  83. I MEAN VOCAL RANGE. YOU SEE, I MESS UP AT TYPING.

  84. I feel u JD. I work in the airport here in Detroit, and I see celebrities if not every other day, every week. I mean EVERYONE from rappers to actors and athletes. U guys r regular ppl with jus wayyyyyyyyyy more money. I don’t get groupieish and stuff like that. I jus say what up, and keep it movin’. But it’s gettin kinda corny now that everyone wants to be a rapper nowadays. I LOVE MUSIC. I meand LOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEE music! All types of music. My major in school is Musical Mixing and Mastering/Engineering and my minor is Architectural Design and Construction. I wanna know the behind the scenes grind of music because that’s where the love for it comes from. Not the phony ass cameras and flashing lights n stuff. I’ve been dealing with music sinnce I was 13 and I know it’s my passion. Niggaz nowadays jus wanna be in the limelight and not put in the work without the passion that it takes to make it happen. It sickens me that ppl are that ignorant, but what can u do? They jus see the cars, jewelry, clothes, patron, women and money.

  85. @Nakita Benjamin

I’m sorry sweetie, not to down ur “talent”, but I listened to ur songs on myspace, and u sound terrible. No disrespect, butchu sound like a deaftone Nina Simone…Ur gonna have to work a lil bit harder on ur voice if u wanna get signed. Jus my opinion…angry response in 5…4..3..2…1!

  86. @Ac@pella YEAH YEAH YEAH!! YOU DON’T KNOW TALENT. YOU THINK TODAY’S ARTIST IS TALENTED, AMM NOPE. YOU NEED TO START LISTEN TO REAL SHIT, LIKE REAL MUSIC FROM THE 80’S AND 90’S. LISTENING TO SOME 80’S AND 90’S R&B MUSIC AND YOU WILL SEE HOW REAL TALENT SHOULD SOUND LIKE.

  87. c’mon bra. yea people want all of it. u have to understand regular folks don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. they don’t see how many hours u spend in the studio, all the time u spend doing things u really don’t want to do. all they see is u in the club and the videos flashing money and “living the life ” and they want it. even if they do know what goes on the pay off is still better than workin 12 to 16 hours a day doing what they hate, coming home to not much, working two weeks just to get a check that they can’t enjoys cause its all going towards billls.it’s a shame but everyone’s not fortunate enough to do the thing they love . they just, work to survive.

  88. @NIKITA B.
I WAS FEELING YOU UNTIL THE 26TH CHAPTER OF YOUR RANT. THAT SHIT WAS MAD LONG AND FULL OF LABOR PAIN FOR ME. JUST KEEP WORKING HARD AND FIND A LANE FOR YOUR MUSIC AND TRY HITTING THE STREETS AND INTERNET YOURSELF WITH YOUR MUSIC. THE PEOPLE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE READY OR NOT.

BUT AAAAANNNYYY WAAAY, THE ENTERTAINMENT IS FOR SURE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER INDUSTRY OF THIS DECADE. IT LOOKS WAY BETTER THAN THE REALITY THAT MOST LIVE.I MEAN IF YOU WORK WAL-MART NIGHT STOCK WITH A FAT NIGGA TELLING YOU TO WORK FASTER OR AT A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AND THE FOREMAN IS TELLING YOU TO ONLY TAKE 30 MINUTES FOR LUNCH,WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR EMPTY SHIT HOLE OF A DWELLING WITH NO FINE GIRL TO RUB YOUR BACK AND THEN YOU SEE AN EPISODE OF MTV DIARY FEATURING JAY,JA RULE, OR DIDDY COME ON AND THEY ARE GOING FROM CITY TO CITY,HANDELING BIZ, AND GETTING ALL THE PERKS, YOU WILL MOST DEFINETLY WANT THAT LIFE INSTEAD OF YOUR OWN. ONE SHOULD REMEBER THAT IT IS NOT GLAMOROUS ON THE ROAD TO RICHES IN THIS GAME, HELL JUST READ THAT MANIFESTO NAKITA BENJAMIN WROTE. BUT THAT PLIGHT IS WHAT ALL SUPERSTARS ENCOUNTERED.
AS FOR YOU JD,I KNOW IT GETS TIRING SEEING PEOPLE TRYING TO BE UP IN YOUR VIP AREA,BUT THAT LITTLE 3 HOURS IN THE CLUB IS ALL THEY GOT. YOU GOT THE WHOLE ENCHALADA. I AM SURE SOME OF THOSE SAME PEOPLE YOU SHIT ON HAVE BECAME STARS AND THEN YOU SMILED AND RODE THEY DICKS. AT THE SAME TIME A PERSON SHOULD NOT BE A LAME AND FORCE THEIRSELF ON ANOTHER OR ANOTHERS LIMELIGHT. JUST REMEMBER THAT STING OF NO HOES CARING ABOUT YOU IN THE CLUB AND THE CONSTANT REJECTION FROM THEM OR PEOPLE LIKE A JD AND USE IT TO DRIVE YOUR GRIND AND PERSISTANCE AND I PROMISE IN DUE TIME THE LIGHT SHALL BE YOURS.

  89. @NAKITA B.
OH YEAH, ITS SAD BUT TRUE THE INDUSTRY DOESNT HAVE BUT A FEW LANES FOR FAT GIRLS.
PICK UP YOUR GRIND AND PUT THAT CHEESE BURGER DOWN AND YOU WILL FIND THINGS A LITTLE MORE EASY.
    IT IS THE 100% TRUTH

  90. Wow! I can’t even leave a comment. I’m laughing my ass off 4real! Yallz clownin!

  91. it is for most people because they see as a change of getting money and everybody knowing their name, but then they don’t think about all the other problems that it come with. like if u get arrest or your love life being everywhere for people to see it. just the little stuff that u want to keep to yourself. people just see the fast life and want it, but don’t think about the price that it have on their life.

  92. @CHI LOL. MY BAD FOR THAT LONG RANT, I HAD TO GET IT OFF MY CHEST. I GLAD J.D. BROUGHT THIS TOPIC UP, I WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO BRING THIS SUBJECT UP. I NOT GOING TO WORRY ABOUT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY BECAUSE THEY AIN’T GONNA GET THE MESSAGE. EVENTUALLY MUSIC WILL CHANGE IT’S STYLE IN SOUND IN A DECADE OR TWO. I THINK R&B MUSIC IS GETTING BACK TO IT’S HABITAT, BUT HIP HOP IS BECOMING TECHO AND SHIT, PLUS RAPPS ARE NOT RAPPING ABOUTING ABOUT ANYTHING IMPORTANT BESIDES THEM CONCEITED SELVES.

@CHI IIGHT, IMMA THROW MY CHEESE BURGER OUT THE WINDOW AND START GETTING SERIOUS AGAIN. I HAD A DREAM ABOUT REMAKING JANET JACKSON’S PLEASURE PRINCIPLE SONG AND TURNING IT INTO COMEDY CALLED “I NEED TO LOSE SOME WEIGHT.” THAT SHIT WOULD BE SO COOL WHEN I SWEAT ALL MY FAT OFF AT THE END OF THE VIDEO. WHAT YOU THINK OF THAT IDEA?

  93. I THINK R&B MUSIC IS GETTING BACK TO IT’S HABITAT, BUT HIP HOP IS BECOMING TECHO AND SHIT, PLUS RAPPERS ARE NOT RAPPING ABOUT ANYTHING IMPORTANT BESIDES THEM CONCEITED SELVES.

  94. I will shortly answer you first JD. Most common people wish for better living. And if they can be a few hours in the VIP they get the attention;as if they were a artist or another successful figure. They can also have a story about how they hung out with JD, LOL. Yeah taking pics and the constant bug of fans is possible if you are a celebrity. But with fame comes admirers and haters. Money, Talent, Power and respect is what you possess. and everyone wants it. That’s GOD’S GIFT. And to those who work a 9 to 5; a celebrities life seems like the best and fastest way of achieving success. Hence the VIP life style is a quick 3 or 4 hours of what its like to be well off. In short; Public figures set a standard for what the public see as well off. What the public don’t know is its just as hard to be and stay a well off celebrity, when the truth is your also human.

    OK,
    Now @ Nakita B

I hear you, and understand your frustration. But things are also deeper than you can see. You cant forget that God is involved.

You may feel like you have what it takes. You may think that you need a dance record. But the truth is you need to make some noise.

When I say make noise I mean go out and begin booking shows. 7 to 15 shows a month. Meet with promoters see how you can be apart of there crew. Hustle. You need a following. I don’t mean a 100 people who like your music. how about 2000 a show. You need people who will spend there last dollar on you. You don’t need to sell out who you are as a person to get the attention from a Label. But you must give them a reason to invest in you.

I have listened to your music. Ok,Good effort. But you need more vocal training at least 10 hours a week for about 12 months. second you need to go to songwriting workshops to strengthen your writing. Take some extra classes at your local community college. Also purchase any and every book you can find on writing songs. Also search for local talent who are striving to succeed like poets, songwriter, producers, and DJ’s. After you do all of that, now you need to record in a professional sound and recording studio. These things are so key to becoming what you believe you want to be.

It may sound like alot or expensive. But look at it like this;If you aren’t willing to do the work or invest in yourself, why would a recording label? Invest 10k in yourself You need a budget to be successful. If that means that you work a extra job at Burger king to make a extra 1,000.00 a month’ If you did the math that’s 12,000.00 a year that you could have invested in your own album.

After you did your best God will show you favor, not because you saved up the money, but because you did your part; in perfecting his gift to the world, You.

    So In steps
    1. Save money
    2. Compose a business plan and Budget
    3. Vocal Training
    4. Work on song writing
    5. Seek a strong team of drivin people(Writers, producers, etc)
    6. Professional Pictures
    7. Work on building a following (This will give you bargaining power for paid gigs also)
    8. Seek after club promoters and owners

These are all the steps you need to get the attention you desire as an artist. Take yourselves serious. Look at yourself as a product, then think of how you can get people to buy you. Why would they want to buy you? Be confident in your self and delivery on your bars or lines (You are telling a story). And have fun when recording.

I hope and pray these steps help someone who has the drive and passion to be better.

    God Bless you all,
    -Charm

  95. I will say yes it is the most wanted job in the last decade because entertainers get paid a lot of money to do something not very important. They don’t work any harder than anybody else they just get paid way more for the hours they put into it. The whole industry is about perception more than skill. The rise of the realities stars are proof that it all about the media more than anything else.

I think people want the fame and the money will come later. If you want proof of this just look at the kid Lucas that plays FRED on Youtube. That kid made $1 million this year. I know many Youtubers that made 6 figures last year. That’s just a camera and an internet connection. So you don’t even need to be on TV to become a star anymore.

  96. I think that people still want to be that popular kid that everybody knows. The strange part is you can never be who you really are, you have to live up to other people expectation of you. It is soo sad to see some of these stars just wanting to eat lunch with friends and here comes a camera in their face, you never go to the store with your hair standing on the top of your head like us regular people do. I wouldn’t want my life being put on display daily, so I feel sorry for these people sometime the money is everything.

  97. @Nakita, anybody comparing u to anyone that can actually sing is just clownin’/deaf period! You’re not a good singer AT ALL for u or anybody to be comparing u to Jazmine, Jennifer or Toni, whether you have the range or not…………..& before you throw a bitch fit, that’s not me doggin u or me being a hater it’s simply THE TRUTH. That woman told you NO & stopped returning your calls for a reason & it didn’t have a damned thing to do wit swagger LOL. If you’ve been tryin since 9 then it’s high time that you come to the realization that the shit ain’t gonna happen for you & whatever excuse u gotta give yourself 2 make it through the day..believe what u wanna believe.
Also, Imma need u to slow ur roll on that Pleasure Principle idea…….NOBODY wants to hear u desecrate a Janet song! I heard that I Don’t Want To Cry & it wasn’t cute.

  98. Noone really has fun in VIP anyway..I can be cute and be seen on the dance floor. Thats what the hell u go to the club for anyway.

Like everyone has said. They only see the outer apperance and the money. They dont care that you no longer have No privacy, and no creepin cause it’s eventually gonna come out, no fucking and leaving them cause u gonna run into some groupie tales that probably aint true any damn way. Your life is forever changed. For the better and worse. Give me money over limelight. I can have my own photoshoot, or stalkers follow me if i want too. Plus half the people are famous for NO DAMN REASON AT ALL..

    *waving*
    Hi Mr. Cox

  99. @NAKITA
DONT DO THAT JANET JACKSON SHIT. THATS LAME. JUST GET YOUR GRIND ON LIKE CHARM THE PRODUCER EXPLAINED TO YOU

  100. For a few min/ of fame, or just to say they hung out with such and such.

  101. @Charm The Producer. YEAH YOU RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU SAID. I HAVE DONE OVER 10 LOCAL TALENT SHOWS SINCE I WAS 7 YEARS OLD TROUGH 13 YEARS AND I WON 4 TIMES, WHICH SHOWS THAT I DO HAVE THE TALENT, AND I DO HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SOMETHING, BUT IT IS HARD WORK, DEDICATION AND PREPERATION. AT 7 YEARS OLD, PEOPLE WAS LIKE BLOWN AWAY THAT I HAVE A MATURE SOUNDING VOICE. MY VOICE HASN’T CHANGE SINCE THAN, I THINK I GOTING A BIT WORSER IN THE YEARS BECAUSE I GAVE UP ON SINGING SINCE I COULDN’T GET A RECORD CONTRACT. THE REASON WHY I COULDN’T GET A RECORD TRACK THAN WAS BECAUSE I WAS TOO YOUNG AND THEY REFUSE TO SIGN ANYMORE YOUNG ACTS AT THE TIME. AROUND THE MIDDLE 90’S, THEY WERE SO MANY YOUNGSTA’S IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY THAT WERE REALLY GOOD. TEVIN CAMPBELL STARTED OUT YOUNG, IMMATURE STARTED OUT YOUNG, KRISS KROSS STARTED OUT YOUNG, BRANDY STARTED OUT YOUNG, MONICA STARTED OUT YOUNG, AALIYAH STARTED OUT YOUNG, BOW STARTED OUT YOUNG, 3RD STOREE STARTED OUT YOUNG, AND SOOOOOOOO ON. BUT THEY WERE IN THEIR PRE TEENS WHEN THEY STARTED OUT. I WASN’T EVEN A TEEN YET SO THEY WERE LIKE NA AMM ABOUT IT. KIMBERLY SCOTT WHO WAS 11 YEARS OLD WHEN SHE STARTED OUT AROUND 1998, BUT SHE GOT DROPPED OUT OF THE LABEL VERY FAST BECAUSE HER ALBUM DIDN’T DO AS WELL AS IT SHOULD. BECAUSE OF THAT, I HAD NO CHANCES OF MAKING IT. IF I DIDN’T GAVE UP WHEN I WAS 14, I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AALIYAH’S SHOES AND ECT. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME NOT BEING A GOOD SINGER. THIS IS WHY I’M MORE PATIENT THAN EVER BECAUSE I HAVE LEARN TO BE PATIENT. MOPING AND CRYING DOESN’T GET YOU THERE. I’VE BEEN ANXIOUS ALL MY LIFE WHICH CAUSED ME TO BECOME BI POLAR. I JUST HATED WAITING ON PHONE CALLS FROM THE RECORD LABELS. I WAS 99 PERCENT ALMOST THERE AT ONLY 9 YEARS OLD, BUT ALL OF THE SUDDEN THEY CHANGE THEIR MINDS ABOUT ME.

INSTEAD I STARTED TO DO SOME COMEDY ACTS, I LOVE TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH AND ALL THAT SHIT. BEING A STAND UP COMDIEN ALWAYS BEEN MY PASSION SINCE DAY ONE. SO DURING THE TIME I WANTED TO BECOME A SINGER, I ALSO WANTED TO BECOME A ACTOR. MY COUSIN AT THE TIME WAS MY MANAGER, AND SHE WOULD HELP GET MY CAREER ON THE GO. I HAVE DONE BACKGROUND ACTING FOR 7 YEARS, BUT I NEVER COULD GET THE BIG ROLES BECAUSE OF MY SPEECH. I TRIED TO AUDITION FOR “ALL THAT” ON NICKELODEON, OUT OF 1000 SOMETHING PEOPLE, ONLY 2 GET CHOOSEN. MY COUSIN BEEN TRYING TO GET ME AN AGENT AT THE TIME, BUT THEY WERE ALL EXCITED ABOUT IT, THEY WERE AT FIRST, BUT THEY WERE LIKE WONDERING IF I WAS REALLY THE AGE I WAS BECAUSE I LOOK WAY TOO MATURE FOR MY AGE. IF I WAS SMALL AND CUTE AND SHIT, I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A BETTER CHANGE AT STARDOM. IT’S A VERY HARD TO HAVE A CAREER, I KNOW IT BECAUSE I SEEN IT, IT’S CAN BE STRESSFUL, BUT IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO, YOU STILL HAVE TO WORK YOUR ASS OFF AT IT ANYWAYS.

MY MOM WASN’T LIKE SUPPORTIVE OF ME DOING MUSIC BECAUSE SHE WANTED ME TO BECOME A DOCTOR ONE DAY. FUCK NO I DON’T WANT TO BE A DOCTOR MOOOM! LOL! THAT’S NOT WHAT’S MY PASSION, ENTERTAINING IS. WHATEVER IT IS, IF IT’S ACTING OR MUSIC, I COULD DO IT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DOING SHT SINCE I WAS A KID, THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO NOT DO IS GIVE UP.

  102. @Bootyinyoface. THAT’S YOUR OPINION. I DON’T THINK RIHANNA CAN SING FOR SHIT, SO THAT’S MY OPINION ABOUT IT.

  103. To Jermaine: You’re used to being in the spotlight and being famous so it’s nothing to you anymore but to there is a person that would LOVE to be in your postion. We all want more in life than what we already have. We want to be able to post up pics of the things we want and ACTUALLY be able to afford it. For a lot of people, fame is the quickest way to get to success (money, cars, clothes, and hoes). Being a celebrity gets you a lot of attention that you wouldn’t ordinarily get as a normal person. People that want to be in VIP are just looking to get that one chance at fame. They want to get their 15 minutes to be seen or heard. They’re looking for just one opportunity to feel the gratification of being famous.

  104. @CHI YOU DON’T KNOW, THAT SHIT COULD BE BIG. BUT I AIN’T GONNA RELEASE THAT SHIT AS AN ALBUM.

  105. HOW THE FUCK JERMIAH GOT SIGNED???? TELL ME THAT? HE CAN’T SING FOR SHIT EITHER. IT GOES TO SHOW THAT PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHAT REAL TALENT IS…………………!

  106. OH MY SWEET BABY JESUS…why did i click that. I think they bout to call me in the HR office. FUCK YALL IF I GET FIRED!

  107. Did she really say she didn’t get the role on Barney when she was 9 because there were 100 kids that could read better than her? wait…that’s a fundamental problem and apparently an ongoing one. I want to laugh so hard. I really do. But I’ll stifle it because this chick really needs help. Illiteracy is a surging problem in America because parents and teachers are failing.

Delusions of grandeur are common among people nowadays because everyone is too politically correct. It’s “mean” to tell someone that they can’t sing/write/rap. So people avoid the conversation altogether. Those who are your real friends and not just “yes” men or women will tell you the truth. But then, nigga culture has it so that those people will be called “haters”. Thus, it is conveniently set up so that people never have to face cold hard facts about themselves.

Johnta can sing his ass off. But he hasn’t been able to catch a true brake in the industry as an artist. However, he is a multifaceted person with immense writing skill and was able to use that skill to make a way for himself…that’s where being able to read and write effectively comes in. If voice lessons brought you to this point, then it might be time to cut your losses in that arena or find out if your instructor is legit.

When people complain that the business is all about money, I understand what they are trying to say; it makes me chuckle nonetheless. BUSINESS = MONEY. Of course, the music business is all about making money off of music. Hello!

You obviously want/wanted the money as well or you wouldn’t have tried to get into the industry in the first place. If all you want is to make great music, you can do that at home. Buy a microphone, a mixer, some recording software, and some instruments or production software and get to work. Create a name for yourself. Show that people are hungry for what you have to offer.

  108. I CAN NOT COME BACK IN HERE AGAIN OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  109. @ Kandi LOL you made my afternoon with that.

  110. @Christel WHAT THE FUCK YOU TALKING ABOUT. WHY DO I NEED HELP BECAUSE I WANTED TO BE ON BARNEY AND FRIENDS???? AMM, ARE YOU CONFUSE OR SOMETHING??? YOU HAVE TO SAY IT’S A PROBLEM. WTF? WELL, YES I HAD ADHD, BUT THAT’S NOT GONNA STOP ME FROM ACHIEVING ME DREAMS. EVEN THOUGH I CAN READ VERY WELL AT THE TIME, I DO HAVE A CONCENTRATION PROBLEM THAT LEADS ME TO NOT FOCUS WHEN I READ. SO READING SCRIPS IS A CHALENGE FOR ME, IT REALLY IS. BUT I DON’T LET MY DISABILITY FROM HOLDING ME BACK FROM WHAT I WANT TO DO.

  111. Seriously Nakita you kinda remind me of Kim from the RHOA without the autotune mixed with a dash of Lou Rawls. And just because you won talent shows as a kid doesnt mean you are talented it just means the people who competed against you sucked even more (which i kinda find hard to believe) BUT THERE IS HOPE. There is this new up and coming Producer you should work with, he is great and I know him…his name is Spock. I’ll have him call you ummkay?

  112. SO READING SCRIPTS IS A CHALENGE FOR ME, IT REALLY IS. BUT I DON’T LET MY DISABILITY HOLD ME BACK FROM MY DREAMS. THE REASON WHY I CHOOSE TO AUDITION FOR BARNEY AND FRIENDS IS BECAUSE IT’S A EASIER FOR ME TO REMEMBERIZE LYRICS AND IT’S EASY FOR ME TO GET IN THE MOOD WHEN IT COMES TO ENTERTAINING. YOU THINK PEOPLE ON BARNEY AND FRIEND SING OUT LOUD WHEN THEY SING? NO, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE TO RECORD IN THE RECORDING STUDIO TO GET THE SONG READY FOR RECORDING BARNEY AND FRIENDS EPOSIDE.

  113. @Kandi- *spits out water* ROTFLMAO……….Spock wouldn’t touch that AT ALL LOL especially if he wanna stay up and coming & not DOA………. CDFU

  114. I JUST THINK EVERYONE ON HERE ALREADY DISLIKE ME THAT THEY HAVE TO SAY THAT I CAN’T READ, THAT I CAN’T SING, THAT I HAVE NO TALENT WHICH SHOWS HOW PEOPLE CAN HATE ON SOMEONE SO REFUSELY. IT’S JUST STUPID. Y’ALL DON’T KNOW ME. PEOPLE SAY IT ALL THE TIME THAT I SHOULD GET A RECORD CONTRACT BECAUSE I HAVE AN AMAZING VOICE AND THAT I PUT PEOPLE AT EASE WHEN I SING. SO HOW THE FUCK Y’ALL COMING ON HERE TRYING TO EMBRASS ME ABOUT THAT I CAN’T SING. IF I CAN’T SING, WHY SAY IT TO ME TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD?

MY MOM ALWAYS TELLS ME, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, DON’T SAY IT AT ALL. IT JUST LOOKS BAD ON Y’ALL, NOT ME.

  115. OH YEAH THAT I CAN’T SPELL. OMG, Y’ALL PEOPLE ARE IMMATURE AS FUCK ON HERE TO EVEN SAY SHIT ABOUT SOMEONE SO MUCH.

  116. I just want you to know I AM NOT HATING. I just think you might want to explore other areas…you might be gifted at something else. here is me singing to help you feel better so you arent the only one out there. its a year ago though. lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKTmHr3n8Iw dang my hair is way longer now.

  117. way over her head…

woman, we can only respond to what you say. you said 100 kids could read better than you at 9 yrs old which would imply that you were in the bottom 1% . Now you’re saying that you could read very well but just can’t concentrate. If you were to get signed, by divine intervention, then you would be a feast for the lions because if you can’t focus enough to read over a contract and completely understand what you’re getting yourself into, you’re destined to get robbed.

Secondly, you refer to ADHD as a disability. From the Learning Disabilities Association of America : “ADHD is not considered to be a learning disability. It can be determined to be a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), making a student eligible to receive special education services. However, ADHD falls under the category ‘Other Health Impaired’ and not under ‘Specific Learning Disabilities’.”

Thirdly, YOU CAN’T SING. YOU CANNOT SING. U + SING = NOT WORKING. I tried to be nice about it. You may get better with a better trainer. It worries me that you’ve been singing for years and sound like this. But I was trying to tell you that you could have a chance in other areas of the industry (behind the scenes) if you could write well or produce well.

Lastly, I was responding to the fact that you keep saying the business is all about money. Do you realize how obvious that statement is? By definition, the business is about money.

  118. @Nakita,
Although most of the shit u say on here is mad suspect & we have to decipher what u wrote before we can even respond……….I don’t know ur ass 2 dislike u. & We’re not tellin u shit to embarass u, my ears were offended by your singing. Do u wanna walk around the rest of your life w/ people sugarcoating shit 4 u or do u want them to KEEP IT REAL? All of us can’t be wrong & neither can the countless people that told your ass NO when it comes to this entertainment thing u wanna do.
U’re the 1 on here making 1000 different excuses for why you don’t have a record contract……..from ur SWAG LOL, ur weight, your OBVIOUS learning disability, etc, etc… GIVE IT A DAMNED REST ALREADY!SHIT.
NO boo, boo———–EVERYTHING u say on here makes u look bad, we’re good!

  119. To further explain what i mean to you Nakita….”IF I CAN’T SING, WHY SAY IT TO ME TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD?

MY MOM ALWAYS TELLS ME, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, DON’T SAY IT AT ALL. IT JUST LOOKS BAD ON Y’ALL, NOT ME.”

This is what I’m talking about when I said this:
“Delusions of grandeur are common among people nowadays because everyone is too politically correct. It’s “mean” to tell someone that they can’t sing/write/rap. So people avoid the conversation altogether. Those who are your real friends and not just “yes” men or women will tell you the truth. But then, nigga culture has it so that those people will be called “haters”. Thus, it is conveniently set up so that people never have to face cold hard facts about themselves.”

    Is it clear now?

  120. @Christel YES BECAUSE I HAVE ADHD. WHICH I OFFEN CAN LOSE FOCUS. I INTEND TO READ SLOWER THAN OTHERS. I ALSO GET FUSTRATED EASIER THAN OTHERS. THAT’S WHY I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE I DON’T HAVE WHAT OTHERS HAVE SOMETIMES. I DON’T LIKE TO OVER DO IT WHEN I ACT, I’M MORE OF A CALM ACTOR THAT CHANGES MOODS. KIDS THEY DO IT WITH ENERGY AND EXCITEMENT.

I CAN SING, STOP SAYING I CAN’T. I ALSO DO HAVE SPEECH IMPAIRMENT, SO YES, I USE TO NOT PRONOUCE WORDS RIGHT WHEN I SING, THAT’S ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR ME. THAT’S WHY I HAD A SPEECH TRAINING THROUGH OUT THE YEARS AND VOICE LESSONS. I ALSO HAVE GUITAR, PIANO, AND VIOLEN LESSONS. I HAVE TO IMMITE, IT’S BEEN A STRUGGLE FOR ME FOCUSING, BUT I WAS ALSO DRIVEN TO BE THE BEST AT WHAT GOD GAVE ME, AND THAT IS TALENT.

Y’ALL JUST HATING. YOU KNOW I CAN SING, Y’ALL JUST WANNA MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT. IT’S JUST STUPID FORREAL. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT I CAN, IT’S JUST EVERYONE HERE DON’T BECAUSE Y’ALL LIKE TO START FIGHTS WITH ME ALL THE TIME BECAUSE OF WHAT I SAY. Y’ALL JUST HATTERS. WHEN Y’ALL SAY I CAN’T SING, I KNOW FOR FACT THAT Y’ALL HATING BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT ME EVERYTIME I COME ON HERE. IT’S DON’T MAKE NO SENCE TO ME AT ALL. I HAVE TO LET MY SISTER READ WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING ON HERE AND SHE WAS LIKE LAUGHING THE FUCK OFF SAYING “WHY EVERYONE IS ATTACKING YOU FOR?” I SAID I DON’T KNOW BECAUSE EVERYONE ON HERE ARE KIDS. MY SISTER WAS LIKE, “BUT NAKITA, YOU DO SOMETIMES SAY STUPID THINGS, AND I UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE IS ACTING LIKE THIS.” WELL, I THINK EVERYONE IS HATING ON MS. BENJAMIN, SO I AIN’T GONNA SWEAT IT.

I’M NOT COMING ON HERE NO MORE, IF I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT ALL THE TIME I COMMENT ON HERE.

  121. @Christel I CAN’T FUCKING COMPREHEND WHAT YOU JUST TYPED. YOU TO POEMICAL LMAO!

  122. “BUT NAKITA, YOU DO SOMETIMES SAY STUPID THINGS, AND I UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE IS ACTING LIKE THIS.”

your own sister said this. I held my tongue for as long as I could. You come on here and make every “talk to me” session all about you. You argue with faulty logic. You provide incorrect information without abandon. You cite sources incorrectly. You frequently get stories mixed up. You never say “my bad, I was wrong”. Basically, you consistently say “stupid things” as your sister said. To top it all off you have delusions of grandeur and wreak of niggadom. We’re haters because your diseased mind told you that you could sing. That’s like a schizophrenic saying that we’re hating just because we can’t hear the voices in their head. You claim to have a learning disorder. I can respect that. But your learning disorder isn’t the source of all of our frustration with you. You’re ignorant because you choose to be. You make excuses incessantly.

  123. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

what the hell is poemical? did you mean polemical?

polemic = –adjective 3. Also, po⋅lem⋅i⋅cal. of or pertaining to a polemic; controversial.

If so, how am I controversial? Why must you use the f-bomb in every post!

  124. I WAS WATCHING SHANICE WILSON SINGING TO BEYONCE – IF I WERE A BOY ON YOUTUBE. FOR SOME REASON, NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE DON’T KNOW SHE WAS AN R&B ARTIST IN THE LATE 80/EARLY 90’S. SHANICE CAME OUT BEFORE MARIAH YOU KNOW. BUT ANYWAYS, I WAS WATCHING HER, AND I THOUGH SHE DID REALLY WELL UNTIL SHE DID THE HIGH NOTE WHICH WAS KINDA HORRIBLE. BUT PEOPLE WERE SAYING SUCH MEAN THINGS TO HER THAT SHE CAN’T SING AND ECT. I FELT BAD FOR HER. THE WERD THING ABOUT IT IS THAT MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT COMMENTED DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE WAS.

THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING, A LOT OF PEOPLE FORGOTTING WHAT REAL TALENT SHOULD SOUND LIKE. EVEN THOUGH SINGING BACK THAN WAS OVERLY OVER THE TOP, IT WAS POWERFUL TO LISTEN TO. NOTHING WRONG ABOUT YELLING WHEN YOU SINGING, BUT IF YOU DON’T HOW TO DO IT, THAN DON’T DO IT AT ALL BECAUSE IT CAN FUCK UP YOUR VOCAL CORD.

I TRY TO EXPERIMENT WITH MY VOICE. MOST OF MY SONGS ON MY MYSPACE PROFILE IS ALL FOR THE A&R’S TO HERE, AND FOR THE LABELS TO HEAR SINCE THAT’S WHAT THEY LOOKING FOR. THEY NOT LOOKING FOR REAL SINGERS, THEY LOOKING FOR PEOPLE THAT CAN DO TODAY’S MUSIC AND THAT’S WHY I DID MY MUSIC LIKE THAT.

WHEN I SING, I SING WITH PASSION, I SING WITH A LOT OF SOUL, AND I SING WITH A LOT OF PAIN. THAT’S THE ARTIST I WANNA BE, NOT A HIPHOP MIX WITH R&B ARTIST. I DON’T WANNA KEEP USING AUTOTUNES ON MY VOICE, WELL THAT’S WHAT EVERYONE IS DOING TO GET THEIR DEMOS OUT THERE.

  125. Nakita…if you would just take some dayum time to reread the shit you post during your tandems, then maybe you wouldn’t get the responses you’re getting. I mean seriously, I have ADD and I’ve worked on my shit on a daily basis since Jr high. I told you this before but its obvious you didn’t take the advice I gave you to heart and just brushed it off.

If you read a lot like you claim, THEN (not than) your literacy would be dayum near normal like everyone else. But its not. Stop using ADHD as your crutch. Yes its annoying being able to concentrate for only a short amount of time but you’re obviously old enough to take advantage of it while you can. You’re also obviously old enough to take charge of this shit and make it work for you. If not, you’re shit is only going to get worse the older you get and then life will really suck. But in the end only you can change you…we’ll just keep pointing out your bullshit stories until you get a clue or get enough. LOL

  126. HERES THE LINK. SEE WHAT YOU THINK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a5U-XqBtFw
SHE CAN FUCKING SING GOD JUESUS. PEOPLE JUST DON’T THINK SINGING LOUD ISN’T TALENT BECAUSE THEY DON’T FUCKING KNOW WHAT REAL TALENT IS.

  127. Leave my fucking sister along. I have been reading all of your comments on here since last week and it’s a shame. my sister don’t deserve that. my sister can sometimes be full of shit, but the thing that she says are also true. nakita is goofy at times, this is how she talks. but anyways, she can sing. i heard her sing and she’s really amazing. everyone in school loves when she sings. she done many talent shows in school before. she can sing!

  128. Woooooooooooooow! What happened to the original topic. LOL.

    I’m about to go in……………………

    @Nakita b
there is no need to explain yourself. You were 9;that was a while ago, time is gone. You have speech problems? that is something you might need to work on asap. Get with a speech therapist and take some courses top help you with that. Go and find someone who cant help perfect your singing and follow those steps I left you. You must do all of these things. Or you will be 50 years old with this same story. Go after your dreams. But do it correctly.

Jeremiah cant sing you say? So what? He graduated high school at 16. He went to Columbia University for engineering. If this don’t work out, he has a plan b. When Def Jam signed him they looked at him as someone who is taking his life serious. He was booking shows,He spoke well at interviews, and even better he had a following. Why wouldn’t they invest in him?

OK y’all. most of y’all have dogged her out. I think that’s enough now. Your not impressed with her music. Maybe she will think about what you all have said. Maybe that will encourage her to get some help to be better her voice and music. Or she can use this as a crutch and continue life with these same arguments. A dream isn’t anything anyone should talk down on, good or bad. We all have them. and very few of us follow them. If we all put in the time to perfect our gifts, we will achieve what we imagined.

Why does everyone want to be a recording artist? I’m not complaining Artist pay my mortgage. I just cant figure why everyone thinks its easy to be an artist. Like going to college for 4 years is so hard. Its like everyone thinks being a Rapper or a singer is the same as being a Doctor or an investment banker or even a Dentist. There are other jobs that can guarantee yourself the same income or more.

If you are a new artist you looking to make 10 to 15% of your net value.

So if you went gold (The market has changed this isn’t easy nor common anymore, especially for new artists)

    500,000 records sold
And lets say the label gets 9.00 per CD after they pay the retailers and or distribution fees they make

    (500,000 x 9)= 4,500,000 net value for your CD
if you are a new artist you get roughly 10% (450,000)
But lets not forget the label gave you an advancement of 1 million dollars
out of that 1 million you had to pay for the recording, mixing, mastering, songwriting, Producers, Lawyers, managers etc.

I say that to say now your in debt to the label $550,000 in the red (Negative)
You made no money. I hope you budgeted your project and save yourself some cash. I hope you didnt buy that home, or that car.

Shit I hope you sell 3 times platinum. Now your making some money.

The truth about being a artist is your constantly under a microscope, you have problems like everyone else. Money inst how you pictured it. You can be a fairly successful artist for 5 to 10 years if you have merchandise and touring. But as an investment baker or a doctor you have a career of 40+ years. at 250,000 to the moon. Go to college who do you think they hire to market your album, who do you think they get to write your songs, engineer your music, plan your shows, conduct meetings, and compose that contract. Who made the bulk of the money you worked so hard for. Yes those 10 to 50 people worked on selling your CD.

OK Im done. LOL. My bad JD…

  129. @AnitaLTL YOU RIGHT.

  131. @Charm The Producer I READ THE WHOLE THING AND I AGREE. YOU RIGHT. I’M GOING TO TAKE THE CRITICISM INTO HEART. I’M GOING TO START GETTING MY ACT TOGETHER AND ECT. BY NEXT YEAR, YOU WILL SEE BIG THINGS FROM ME. TRUST ME ON THAT.

  132. @Heatha77 SHUT THE FUCK UP, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOU GOD JUESUS. AM I THAT BAD FOR Y’ALL TO BE GETTING SICK AND SHIT?

  133. @Nakita…not worth my time, u can dig ur own grave…u doin that just fine!

  134. It probably is one of the most wanted careers of the decade, but how many ordinary people really
realize all the hard work that goes into it. Not to mention the lack of privacy especially in private issues.

  135. YALL LEAVE NAKITA ALONE. SOMETIMES A DREAM IS ALL THAT KEEPS YOU MAKING IT FROM DAY TO DAY.

  136. it seems like all of the topics end up w/ everyone responding to nakita and i’m wondering why she’s on every topic that Jermaine puts up and then turns around and says he’s not talented? why is she constantly up here? i’m jus sayin….

  137. i would LOVE to work in the industry because I love the music, simply the music. so whatever i can do i would “behind the scenes” i dont club at all so VIP i dont want….the money of COURSE. people flock to whatever they see is making the most money and having the most fun doing so. its not all FUN, but there are plenty of FUN times. JD you have all the attention you have becuase you’re who you are which is a music mogul…but you still like to go out and party and DJ! dudes just wanna be in VIP to try and show you, they have what you have. most of the times be it not true. but there are your common everyday people/millionaires/socialites who do have it and party just as hard people of JD’s stature but the common Joe wouldnt have any idea as to where or how to join these functions.

  138. I think some people just want the attention. To be seen with the “whos who” of the entertainment business to make themselves look better/bigger than who they really are. Not realizing they haven’t put in enough work or laid that foundation to seize their spot amongst those who have.

  139. Diddy has some really fresh style, but if I were him I’d put all that green to better use and buy myself a Rolex watch those pieces are stylish that’s what you see the big dogs rockin’.

  140. I am pleasantly surprised about the degree and also the top quality of content material you have on your website, that you love to create truly comes through. Grabbed the Feed, thanks!

  141. omg…tila tequila was attacked at a club? did you see the cuts on her face? it was awful…i can’t believe anyone would do that to her!
