Google launched a new music streaming service called Google Play Music: All Access at the Google I/O developer conference earlier today. For $9.99 USD a month, users of All Access will be able to listen to “millions of tracks” in the Google Play store in addition to their own personal music libraries. “We set out to build a music service that doesn’t just give you access to great music, but guides you to the music you want to hear. Google Play Music: All Access is a uniquely Google approach to a subscription music service,” said Google engineering director Chris Yerga.

All Access features expert-curated playlists that subscribers can access and add to their own libraries or create “radio stations.” U.S. subscribers will get a 30-day free trial—if you sign up for the free trial before July 30, the monthly subscription price drops to $7.99 USD. Google Play Music: All Access is available for Android-based smartphones and tablets, and there’s also a Web browser version for laptops and desktops.

Parvez Rasool refuses to sport liquor brand logo on IPL jersey

SHOULD A PLAYER HAVE TO WEAR A BRAND ON THEM IF A BRAND PAYS THE TEAM TO ADVERTISE? WOULD NASCAR GO FOR THIS?

New Delhi: The first cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play in the IPL, Parvez Rasool, has refused to sport a liquor brand’s logo on his Pune Warriors team jersey, saying that it would hurt his religious sentiments.

The 24-year-old Rasool made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders last week and hid the liquor brand’s logo on his jersey with a tape.

“I used tape to hide the logo and people were initially wondering why I was doing this. I told them that it is because my religion prohibits alcohol consumption. I can’t endorse liquor brand. For me my belief is paramount. My family is happy with the decision,” he said.

Rasool’s IPL debut came after being in the dugout for 12 matches.

In his first match, he claimed the prized scalp of Jaques Kallis and finished with decent bowling figures of 4-0-23-1 and scored one run. In the second match against Mumbai Indians, Rasool bowled just one over and gave away five runs and scored 4 runs coming into bat at number 10.

The unassuming player from the valley shot to limelight with a seven-wicket haul against visiting Australians while playing for the Board President’s XI earlier this year.

Rasool, a day ahead of his 24th birthday, spun a web around the Aussies with impressive figures of seven for 45 for the Board President’s XI on a pitch that offered the slow bowlers assistance.
