  3. True…. Alot of Artists can actually market there music by themselves..I saw how you were marketing the “Oceans 7 Mixtape” You didnt just leave it up to people to market it coz of your name, but you put in the work…

Blogs can work for you if you put in the time, work & dedication

Holla @ me @Tongadude On Twitter

  4. Nice vid Jermaine. I’m learning new shit from you dayum near everyday that I otherwise wouldn’t learn from other entertainers. Thanks mane!!! 😀

  5. Thanks so much for this post, Jermaine, it really made me think about somethings. I run my own blog, blackastronaut.blogspot.com. On one hand I do understand the point you are trying to make when you asked why nicollebitche didn’t post your story on the weekend. Yes, the news doesn’t stop and people never stop wanting news worth events and people, even if it is the weekend. But, during the weekend I feel like a lot of people doen’t expect for blogs to post, even if they are supposed to be an up to the second, post at the drop of a dime media tool. Even with my blog, the few people that do read my blog read during the work day. Some people that I have talked to that read my blog feel like the work day or school day goes hand in hand with reading my blog and blogs like mine. I do post certain items during the weekend, but even when I do they are small things because the weekend doesn’t usually give a lot of wow facter news. I may try to post more on the weekends because I never know, people might be expecting posts from me. Everybody be sure to check me out at blackastronaut.blogspot.com.

  10. oh on another note..i use to read several blogs daily..but i cut it down to the few i know that’s up on that NEWNEW ISH…LOL (i like 2 stay a step ahead of the game;-) All GOOD blogs but they didn’t post NEW updates fast enough…I LOVE that i can (almost=-) count on u to have something daily…(sometimes hourly=-)…minus the gossip)..so..mr SOSO if i haven’t said it before…I LOVE & APPRECIATE GLOBAL 14;-)

  11. I’m feeling the information your putting out there about blogging not being for the lazy I’ve been doing it off and on for a few years starting with youtube video blogging then. wrighting notes on Facebook and now i can afford my own domain so i ported everything over and keeping content up for people to read and view is definitely a job but the reward is so much greater when i can put my own work out there and get feedback from people that respect what i do. I love your work so much and I’ve been following your career since the 90’s when funkdafied was my joint as a kid and life in 1472 was the album to have in my neighborhood. keep posting as just to least you know you are the hardest working blogger on the internet!! but I’m working on catching up! lol aight pimpin

  12. wow if the middle man is gone…if any artist needs a marketing team….lol…”holla at me” let me be a part of the team.

I totally agree with “weekend blogger”….people read everyday….if you don’t post nothing on the weekend worth reading….People ain’t coming to your site period until Monday! LOL If people know and expect your site to be slow with news on the weekend. They will get use to what you create and will show up only when they think you have new “NEWS” to share.

It the trend you create if you start off with weak or no story on the weekend people will move to a site that has the info or necessary information they needed. Pretty they will move to another site that never sleep. Most people trend to play video games or shop online more the weekend. I think most blogger or website miss out on alot of open opporunity connecting with millions or even 100’s of people just in two days!!!

If you site track 14 million people on the weekday and on the weekend it only tracks 2million…your still connecting with “MAD PEOPLE”! People talk all day everyday….if you put out and effort to “gain readers sometime you have to think outside the box to gather them on the weekend.

Maybe a weekend exclusive..to pull more traffic…to gain higher number of reader during the weekend.

Most blogger get use to the norm….and get into a trance of “norm”..lol…”Think outside to box” to build your site or artist!

  13. Saw u on Cnn..love that u stay changing with the times..and ur outfit was cool very Oceans!

  14. Nice interview! I agree urban blogs should post on the weekend.

  15. I LOVED THE BLOGWORLD VIDEO! YOU HAVE AGAIN INSPIED ME! VEGAS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Great interview! Go hard or go home! thanks for the inspiration.

  17. It is kinda weird watching this along with reading some of the post from today as I think about a stage in life I’m entering. I for years have been a geek when it comes to the latest technology and the internet, but for a long time I limited myself (kinda like the Necole situation), telling myself I’ll wait till people are actually ready and listening. Waited and still no one was listening. So I slowed down to keep pace with everyone else. I’ve grown to realize that they will eventually catch on/up or get left behind. Whatever the case, run your race and let them run theirs.

As I see the changes that are taking place now with so many things, that years ago people thought was so weird, it’s kinda funny… but it hurts at the same time when I start realizing how far along I actually could have been if I had been running with people that were up to my speed or even faster. For over a decade I’ve had the desire to go to conferences and expos that were technology related but since no one I knew took interest in the same stuff I passed. Never missed spring beach event (Daytona, etc.) back in those days though. smh

I can understand the way she was thinking from my own experiences throughout my life, but yes, it’s better to keep going I’ve learned now. I see she was trying to pay close attention to the hits but in the end she is slowing down instead of having her readers keep up with her.

  18. Just checked out the Poken website. Seems like a pretty interesting and great and fast way to exchange info. So I see this working world in the entertainment industry where you may not have much time to interact with people before someone has to move around. An artist needs to showcase its use in a video and then the ball will really start rolling. Good looking out

  19. one hundred!

  20. THE MEDIA NEEDS TO WAKE UP & SMELL THE REALITY OF TECHNOLOGY! NEWS DOESN’T TAKE DAYS OFF, SO IF YOUR A SITE DEDICATED TO NEWS & INFORMATION, YOU CAN’T WAIT FOR A RIGHT TIME…ITS LIKE THE MATRIX(IT DOESN’T EXIST!) THE INTERNET NEVER SLEEPS ITS LIKE DRUGS & WE’RE ALL THE FIENDS. UP EARLY OR LATE THEIRS ALWAYS PEOPLE LOGGED ON LOOKING FOR THE NEXT HIGH & ON TO THE NEXT. SO REMEMBER… IF YOUR NOT FIRST, YOUR LAST WHATEVER YOU DONT SERVE SOMEONE ELSE WILL!!

THE INTERNET IS THE DEALER, INFORMATION IS THE DRUG, & WE’RE ALL THE JUNKIES!!
ADMIT IT & ACCEPT IT!! LOL…NOW HOW YOU FEEL?? HAHAHAHA (*_*)

  21. this is it!!! you said whats up jd!!!

  22. I’m a RT this JD! I “met” Wayne thru twitter earlier this year. He’s from my hometown in Raleigh and a social networking expert so I followed him IMMEDIATELY. I always support him online. He’s a GREAT resource. Speaking of which, on Twitter I feel my job is to share good information with my followers not just my thoughts/feelings and activities. That alone increases followers. So keep sharing as your learning!

You know who dis is….@hollywoodlvwork aka ellenoir1
