I been trying they wont fuck with u unless u have credits already under your belt or a big following fans etc….they don’t care how good your music is that’s why most music out here in the industry so whack now. the best thing I can do is try to get some placements on my own first i’m trying hard it’s a struggle though

i’m pushing my artist and I network go to these events they tell u the same thing get hot get a fan base and following so I don’t go to them they don’t work it’s hard to get known out of south Carolina but I hope that change since that girl from American idol Candice glover won the American idol she the reason I still got hope maybe I can make something and get it on her album if the label don’t be bullshitting
If she won American idol it’s not so much the label will be bs’n but she is already under several contracts before even landing whatever major if it hasn’t been confirmed yet. He makes beats with his hands but who says he won’t use production later? We had him on our show and he plans to do more.

we had our song copywritten and had the paper work right but the song didn’t sound the same so it wasn’t even worth getting a lawyer and going thru all of that cause people probably wont believe that I sent them the song and they probably will deny it so…

Another thing would be your artist pushing themselves just as much as you are to ensure you both are getting your fair share of promo in & out. Everyone is saying the same thing because there is some truth to it. You may hear repeated information but chances are there will be new networks. A physical presence beats online any day. There is no one way or right/wrong way into the industry but you can increase your chances by at least applying the knowledge, & talent/networking aspects which you clearly have. If SC has not caught on to you yet then move to a market in which you could be productive. Putting my city on doesn’t mean I have to reside there 24/7. Can’t nobody do s or be as effective w/o moving around at some point. When online, and conferences aren’t working, then it’s time to maybe look into working w again, an artist who already has an established fan base free of contracts. It takes many years to get in. I kno to peeps spent about a decade. Hang in there & just know only you can decide when it’s time to take your production, and brand to a whole new level. Put your self on. Create your own opportunities, lanes, & meet me at the top where we headed! Lol

I was having this discussion with a fellow artist and we were talking about the ”Thirst” for new music some of these websites have. In my opinion sh*t is ridiculous that music isn’t valued as much as it used to be. I can’t really blame the websites though because everything is over saturated.. You release a record.. after a week its considered old? whatever kind of music you create I feel like that sh*t is your baby..regardless. I think websites AND artist alike need to keep that In mind. 1. Not everyone has seen your baby.. and 2. Metaphorically speaking of course , Your baby ain’t considered old till he’s 18 lmao. But seriously folks. I think everyone needs to Value what they create more so that everything lasts a bit longer. If I drop sh*t every week I no longer hold the same value I would as oppose to once every 2-3 months. Don’t be so quick to send your child out on its ass. Thoughts? P.S. : big up all the sites that post my music! haha ^_^.

yeah, I mean no one is going to listen to me or to logic for that matter so Its better I discuss these things with people that do music and people who miss the longevity we had in some of these artist and some of the music alike.

quality over quantity, & consumers can change what they want to hear the moment they start supporting it. buying records, requesting at radio stations, buying concert tickets. Music will always evolve each generation, & that generation will control what is accepted by the masses for the most part.

I hear what your saying homie but the format of a website doesnt allow that. Once someone hears it on their then its old simply because there are a gang of other artist submitting by the minute. So the only thing you can do is grab that link where yours is and drive as many ppl to it as you can, thats’ how you keep your specific song gaining traffic or energy. Being posted by the site is the WIN, but you have to have your own campaign behind that song to let them know look here is where Im being posted and try to make that particular song grow legs. So you are the one that keeps your baby fresh an new, the sites dont delete your song they just get new material that they have to post, so save the link where yours is and market it.

Indeed, I feel you but see thats the crazy thing about promoting music. THe key is really to grow your fanbase and we all know that, but the art of how to do it is lost because of internet, websites etc. so say you dropped a song and the ppl that follow you listen to it. The next phase is going where they don’t know you with that same material. Hip hop artist need to move more like these bands do, call up these clubs in different cities that be having these open mic calls gas up a van and hit those spots to gain new fans. All you need is one project and the best 3 songs off of it are the joints you go and rock in each city you go too. Pass out the project and get ppl from different cities in tune with your movement. You don’t have to go through the whole U.S.A., but just where your money can take you, there should be a budget for that. The problem be that everyone relies on these sites that like you said are already super saturated. That small east coast tour that you do can be for a month or two depending on how you plan it will be the way your music stays fresh for that time because you giving it to new areas that havent been exposed to it yet. Websites are fast moving they need at least 6 or 7 pieces of content a month from you before their viewers start realizing that your movment is consistent, its a gift and a curse because it has watered down the organic way of ppl becoming a true fan and thats by meeting the actual artist and witnessing them do their thing.

I thought about providing you all ”online-reads” as opposed to
”Webisodes” because I feel like people need to read more (haha) No seriously though If you read this, I know that you’re interested which is good.. If I show you guys video footage I just look like all the other people showing you video footage and plus I really want my words and Ideas and anything I say to sink in because whats Important to me is that you understand and feel where I’m coming from with this. I thank god for every opportunity that has come my way so far and I try to stay in high spirits, but when I’m not its due to the fact that Its all too much for 1 person to handle and not 1 word I write today can stress or make you all feel how emotionally stressful it all is on a person. It Hurts when you feel within yourself that you aren’t doing this world any good with what you’re doing. We can say ”we don’t care about what people think when we do whatever we do” but its a lie. If we didn’t care about what others thought we wouldn’t seek validation , We wouldn’t seek out a ”good job” or pat on the back.Nevertheless This is the life that choose all of us artist and It’s our job as much as working at Barnes & Noble is someone else’s job so.. Imagine when you have to do both as an artist, that’s two jobs on top of whatever priorities you have outside of the workplace. Being an artist means naturally going against certain things , even people. I lost so many friends to this, I’ve had arguments with family members and associates and part of being an artist is accepting that this is going to happen at one point and there is no stopping it. You will lose money , You will lose friends, There will be time lost, but ifs you’re willing to do all of that , You will be where you want to be in return. Sometimes I look at the way things are now and tell myself that there is no going back, primarily because I don’t know a life before music I’ve been doing this since young.
I dropped out of college because school was never my thing (and I know alot of people say that sh*t or make up an excuse for themselves as to why they ass ain’t in class) but its true.. I was never accepted in circles , always got less then decent grades (except in writing) and certain things about it all bothered me. I didn’t like the Idea that someone had the ability to feel superior to me in ALL THINGS because of a letter on a page. I didn’t like the fact that I would end up spending hours of my life reading and rehearsing information that I had already known at such a young age I had no intention of ever using again. I truthfully didn’t know what I wanted to be graduating high school other than a creator of music and me doing anything other than that I’d be upset and prob. disappointed in myself If I didn’t at least try. That’s just me and yet I encourage and respect all of those students , In school , working that 9-5 , with children & families of their own I think that’s beautiful in its own right. I have something to share with the world and even though everything Is against me I will be heard. – Noah Vinson.

Pushing The Music is an independent music marketing and promotion service using various outlets of social media and the internet combined with data science to ”push indie artists to the top of the charts.” From various types of daily social media posts to blog submissions to general business needs, PTM is here to help the indie artist.
From mid 2010 to mid 2012 I did what you can call a ”hobby trial run” under my personal Twitter account. I promo’d for some of my favorite indie artists. (I wasn’t asked to do anything, I just did it.) Most never had a service like this or knew how beneficial it actually was. They all told me how much it helped them meet targets and goals. 1 artist had me doing a majority of the social media promotions for his album in 2011. Another told me I played a big part in helping her break onto the Billboards. I was bringing in new fans weekly.
I’m launching PUSHING THE MUSIC on June 1st. But before I launch I need to gather feedback/data. I’m using information I learned from some of the top marketing experts and data scientists and applying it to help indie artists. I need you all to answer a BRIEF questionnaire. This will take no more than 4 to 5 minutes of your time. The fans have 1 and the indie artists/producers have 2.

Thanks. It depends on what you mean by ”test run”.
Perhaps my translation of what you posted is not conduit to your intentions but what I was ascertaining, is that, you started a music promotion service, and you wanted to show how great the service was, by utilizing a concept many businesses use, which is the ”free sample”. Since it is a service, that services business, in the terms of promo, it would have to make business sense in assistance of business, which in this space, is music and entertainment to make money. My translation also noted that this is a brand new service you started and you wanted to get it out there, which is the reason for the surveys. Having said that, part of what I was saying is that I would need to see what you can do, for me, to give an objective opinion. When I stated, ”what it dew on all aspects”, it means that details are necessary. I have used some promo services in the past, and it turns out they were utilizing underhanded tactics which almost got me in trouble, so hence, even if it is a ”free sample”, I’d have to see all the details to make sure it is a proper job.
