Bio

The Nastee Boyz, are the original Hip Hop Entrepreneurs. Formed in the early 80’s in Newark, New Jersey this Hip Hop band was way ahead of their time. They are hip hop’s most significant untold story. Their contributions to the hip hop industry unfolds like a Forest Gump story. They published the first magazine that ever exclusively covered rap music and exposed Hip Hop as a culture. It was also the first rap music record chart. Their verbatim journalism was also mandatory to introduce the many different swaggers of hip hop artist. The Nastee Boyz were also rappers who’s advertising industry ties led them to performing lucrative corporate show tours. The demand for them from major sporting goods manufacturers such as Reebok, Puma and Nike detained them from releasing their many recordings equating to nearly 10 albums worth of material. They did manage to release a single on their own label recorded with Fred Schneider of the B52’s called “The Killer B’z”. The track had marginal success before running out of budget to supply the demand. Though signed to the Legendary Tommy Boy Records directly by music industry mogul Tom Silverman creative differences led to their departure from the label. The band and their magazine was soon blacklisted from the music industry. A year later The Source was established. The Nastee Boyz each individually continued to work in the industry behind the scenes as notable executives in their own right with Vincent “Vince The Prince” Carroll becoming the president of Vegas Style Entertainment a record distribution, management company (worked Fugees, Mos Def, Outsidaz, Nelly,++) and Charles “Chuck Nastee” Carroll aka C. Edward Carroll-Burl becoming an innovative ground breaking Hip Hop Graphics Artist and president of Blacksight Communications a multimedia marketing and creative company (Rush Management, Hip Summit, Action Network, Nelly, Team Lunatics, Azizz, Busta, Rah Diggah ++).
