Shamika”Mi-Mi Calhoun” Gunn is an American Literary Author. Born(March 2,1987) and raised in Atlanta Ga. Mi-Mi began writing at the young age of eight years old. ” I wish I can say that one day I just decided to write but I cant, writing for me became a way to release a lot of pain I had inside. Whenever I would write I could go into my own world and I wasn’t afraid to be me. In fact it was the only place I could be myself.” Mi-Mi began writing songs and poetry and soon realized that her talents and dreams would reach much further than she could have imagined.” The first thing I ever wrote was a song named I Wish On You, what was funny to me was the fact that it was a love song. And to this day I don’t understand how I could have remotely known anything about love at that age(laughs). I think its because I am and will always be an emotional writer and I can pick up on others emotions so quick that I sometimes don’t realize it. When I started writing Movie Scripts it was scary because my movies typically come to me in my dreams and it would feel so real I would have to wake up. at this point in my life I knew that writing was my purpose.” Unlike Songs and Movie Manuscripts Mi-Mi has stated that writing her first Book has been the most challenging thing she has written so far.” Wow, writing my first book was so hard for me only because with that being my first book I was overly critical of my self, which can be both a good and bad thing. I want my work read as if it was someone telling you about their life I want it to be real. I just knew when I started writing my second book to give myself a little more breathing room.” Mi-Mi Calhoun has the talent and drive, to go anywhere her heart, mind, and faith guides her in her life. We are definitely going to read, hear, and, see a lot from her, “I have so many stories to tell, I have so many things I want to do in my life I have been blessed with incredible parents,family,friends, and fans, an overall amazing support system and through God, and Jesus I know anything is possible so you better get used to me.
