Bio | Chicago native K.C. Carter grew up with a love of music and a strong foundation in Christ. The two gifts have never been far apart as Carter has developed his musical talents over the years. He believes in the true meaning of the word “Artistry” and is involved in every aspect of the creative process from writing, production/arrangement, performing (Singing/Rapping), and even recording/mixing. Carter first began performing and recording by the age of 13. He recognized early on his strengths and weaknesses, and has actively worked to improve himself as an artist. As a result Carter presents himself these days as a more complete package, equally influenced by artist such as Musiq Soulchild, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common, and hip hop trio Little Brother. Carter’s unique sound incorporates styles such as Gospel, Hip Hop, R&B, and Soul music. His music focuses mainly on his life experiences and the problems in society; however, not all of his music focuses on harsh realities. Some of his songs reveal a more light hearted and even comical side. KC does not consider himself to be a Christian artist; however, he is an artist that has a Christian foundation and most of his music reflects that. By continuing to write, produce, KC has developed his gift tremendously and has become even more versatile. KC believes that there is always room for improvement, so he continues to perfect his craft. He has recently finished up his last semester of college and has received a BA in Music Production. KC has also recently finished his debut album entitled FLP 2 (Faith, Love, Passion), which was released June 5th 2012. This is what a few critics are saying about Carter’s new album: |
