Eric Powell, better known as Jerz-E-Ric, is a music producer/photographer from Camden, New Jersey. His work is noticed by a “Jerz-E-Ric” echoing tag at the beginning of most of his recent music. While Jerz-E-Ric is known to use samples in his productions, he often incorporates live instrumentation and an air horn sound effect (more commonly used in dancehall and reggae). He currently uses FL Studio 10, Logic Pro 9 and Reason 6 to make beats. Other than producing for up and coming artist Jerz-E-Ric is heavily involved in producer showcases/competitions such as iStandard, Battle of the Beats and recently winning 2012 Lightsleepers Beatroot Grand Championship, beating out 36 other producers. Jerz-E-Ric was influenced by producers such as Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Just Baze and B!nk. He has released his first studio album entitled Jerz-E-Ric Presents: The SoundTrack Vol 1. featuring unsigned emcees from Hawaii showcased over his production.
As a freelance photographer and graphic/web designer he has worked for Cox Media Group/ Hawaii’s Power 104.3fm doing concert and event photography. He has since then founded EP Forever Young photography specializing in event and portrait photography.
