Bio

Drex Ave is a R&B/Rap Artist from Champaign Illinois and has been rapping since the late 90’s. Drex spent many years performing with his twin brother locally and out of town until they both decided to switch their rolls as musicians so his twin (Laz) became the producer & Drex as the rap artist. His style is unique with humor to hype the mood of every song he records. His accomplishments include performing at the Virginia Theatre for the “Showtime at the Apollo” Showcase in Champaign Illinois, and performed “The Fighting Illini” on the local news, a song he wrote and co-produced with his twin brother. Drex Ave had the opportunity to record with recording artist Smokey Digglera from the singing group Dru Hill”. He has opened shows for various artist such as Pusha-t, Mystikal, and Twista to name a few. He has also done promo songs for Cavi Clothing & Gamersaloon.com. Drex recently performed at the Istandard Producers at the SAE Institute in Chicago. He also recorded a song titled “50 Rap Artist Pun” containing 50 plus rappers in 1 song thinking outside the box. Here’s some press release from an article reviewing “50 Rap Artist Pun” (“To pull it all off convincingly, you need to know your history homies – that’s what leads rapper Drex Ave to a decisive victory in the “50 Rap Artist Pun Challenge.” Taking it all the way back to the Yo Raps era with an extended intro leading into the video, Drex runs the verbal gauntlet as he hits the bars and name-drops as many emcees as he can while flexing a ton of skill on the m-i-c in the process. But you can tell he didn’t just Google these names y’all – the man spits with conviction, commitment, and clear knowledge of those that have come up in the Rap game before him…he’s like an encyclopedia of the genre’s history! Check it out for yourself – Drex Ave handles this challenge with authority and comes out with a giant W for the effort.”
