I agree about the difficulty of monitoring; kids need to feel like they have a way of reporting abuses when they occur.

Do what Kids in the House is doing: make kids part of the solution. Facebook’s answer to bullying is to create some app for reporting bullying — a classic band-aid solution made by grown-ups who think like grown-ups. Facebook should create a permanent team that includes kids to identify bullying and ways to combat it. Facebook has the reach — more than a billion members — and power to make a difference, if it really wanted to do so.

At age 19, he has gotten into so much legal trouble that the label might have decided his personal problems were just too much of a liability. I think he shot to stardom before he could handle it.

In reply to - JD posted an update: Chief Keef inked a pretty big recording deal with Interscope back in 2012, reportedly worth about $6 million. However, consider that relationship officially over and done, as the label Keef once called home is now the label he just doesn’t like. Social networks like Facebook are failing to take responsibility for cyberbullying. Those networks create the forum that kids exploit to hurt other kids. Social networks also have social responsibility.

A great entertainer should always use the art of crowd participation if they can. It shows that he/she wants them apart of the show somehow. Everyone was booing the ppl that didnt stand until Ye realized it was because of a handicap. I think everything that he does now that may even seem egotistical will be scrutinized and rightfully so because of his past. I don’t think he was wrong here though.

It’s one thing to exhort the audience to stand; it’s quite another to berate them when you don’t get 100-percent compliance and then make jokes at the expense of people who have special needs. It was insensitive for him to say, “I can’t do this show until everybody stand up . . . Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and shit.” Well, guess what, Kanye — someone in the audience DID have a handicap pass. Really funny, right? He compounded matters with remarks like, ”Now, if he is in a wheelchair, it’s fine” (it sure isn’t fine for THAT person, Kanye, is it?) or pointing over at the wheel-chair-bound person and saying, for everyone in the auditorium to hear, “Is he in a wheelchair right there?” (As if he doubted the fan) So sorry that a disabled person hindered your show, Kanye.

I have been two tons of concerts where an artist has come out on stage and blatantly demanded that the whole room ”Get the fuck up out yo seats, I said get the fuck up!” Never once have I thought to my self, ”Well what if others can’t stand or Hey he’s being rude in his tone and I don’t like it” LOL Your at a rap concert it comes with the territory. Thinking that way is a tad bit too sensitive for me but that’s only my opinion. Now if he would have said ”You handicap mofos are ruining my show because you can’t stand, that’s different. The whole crowd was on his side, everyone wanted to stand, they found out who physically couldn’t and moved on with the show.

They say get up but they continue with the show regardless, I think this situation is different, I think Kanye was just tripping hard. There are many other reasons some cant stand long and have to sit. He has a right to hype up the crowd but unless he paying for folks ticket he cant make it mandatory. And he trying to add stipulations like ohhh you in a wheel chair you get a pass, like he running something… I wish I was there I would of sat right down even if I wasn’t in a wheelchair like do something ninja////jump

Lifers, I’m interested in your opinion: are we ever gonna see Dr. Dre release Detox or any original music for that matter? What makes me ask is that the Apple/Beats deal was made official today. And as part of the deal, Dre joins Apple. Whether the position is just ceremonial (or whether he’ll actually do something meaningful at Apple) remains to be seen. Yeah, I know Dre’s been focused on production over original recording, but he has not released an album of his own for years. I wonder if getting in bed with Apple signals the complete transformation of Dre from musician to mogul? Here’s more about the completion of the deal:

Now that it’s been sold he might release it because they might have not released any new Dre album prior to this deal out of fear of tainting the Beats brand if the album was not well received.

I’m late on this, but no, I don’t see that happening for several reasons which I won’t ramble on about since I am late to this convo.
This line from Chronic 2001 keeps running through my head ”give me 1 more platinum plaque & f*ck rap, you can have it back”.
I’m just saying, his mind has been on other ventures for a long time. He has nothing to gain by releasing it.
