Bio | Antonio Smith is a former rap artist from Atlanta, GA., and current ASCAP member. With fifteen years of industry experience, Antonio Smith helped pioneer the independent music scene in Atlanta during the late 90’s as an independent A&R and artists manager helping to guide the talents of local artists to industry executives. As his career garnered industry notability, Antonio established worthy relationships with managers, and independent record and production companies that spearheaded the creation of an independent music unit known as M.A.S.S. Entertainment Group (Music Artists Songwriters and Singers). This creation allowed for Antonio to create a brand that would permit his network of independent record and production companies to unify for one common purpose of support. In 1997, his experience and knowledge of the music business help form the partnership between Quantum Music and MASS Entertainment Group, forming Q&M Music. As partner within Q&M Music, Antonio oversaw the A&R Department where he signed Pantheon Entertainment, an Ohio production company, and HUSH, a female R&B/Hip Hop group from Mississippi. Working under the MASS Entertainment Group brand, Antonio played a key role in securing artists for the groups 1998 compilation project “The Gathering”, which included a mix of R&B, R&B/HipHop, Neo Soul, and Rap. The compilation coordinated and executed by Antonio Smith introduced the careers of several up and coming artists from Atlanta. |
