With huge first week sales of 55,490 copies and a #4 position on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums, Merry Christmas II You even surpassed the opening of Mariah’s five-time platinum selling first Christmas album Merry Christmas.
This debut marks Mariah’s 16th top 10 set. Among women, only Barbra Streisand (with 30) and Madonna (19) have had more.
Mariah’s Christmas songs dominate the Holiday Singles chart as well with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “Oh Santa!” sitting respectively at #1 and #2 on Billboard’s Top Holiday Digital Singles chart.
