One disgruntled Mariah Carey fan has penned an open letter to Jermaine Dupri for his handling of the diva’s career.
Apparently, there’s a lot more that Jermaine could be doing to promote Mariah’s next album if you ask a Twitter user named @AussieJess. In her opinion, he’s pretty much sleeping on the job and not doing nearly enough to hype up Mariah’s forthcoming album The Art of Letting Go.
Instead of simply hiding behind 140 characters of virtually anonymous opinion, Jess tagged both JD and Mariah in her post.
Jermaine may have opened himself up to some professional criticism after he spoke about the importance of fully committing yourself to any task that you take on. As a dedicated Mariah fan, Jess nearly accuses him of being a hypocrite and charges that he has no idea how to manage the megastar.
“You should be giving (at least) 100 to planning out MC’s album release. Throwing a ‘radio kis a*s party’ and telling lambs to change their screen names to #May6 is not really sufficient.”
She added, “I am well aware of my role as a mere fan, but I really don’t think you have any concept of your role as her ‘manager.’”
Ideally, Jess would love to see Mariah cut Jermaine from her team, but she knows that the “Fantasy” siren is fiercely loyal to her friends. Since Jermaine will likely always be on Mariah’s roster, Jess suggested that JD educate himself on the art of effective management.
“If you’re going to be around, you might as well get your sh*t together,” Jess wrote, suggesting that JD may only truly see Mariah as pay check. “Most importantly, if you actually cared about Mariah, rather than exploiting her to pull yourself out of bankruptcy, you would concede that this task is bigger than you.”
