This is not meant to replace your existing computers, it's merely a supplemental device & made for convenience of transporting. I really like this product...although I will not purchase the 1st generation b/c the 2nd and/or 3rd will come soon afterward. Maybe I'm a "gadget geek" but I love this concept....it is the itouch on crack lol.

This is convenient for music, videos, movies (portable dvd player w/o carrying the actual dvds), web, calendar, contacts....all of these features. Of course it would be GREAT if they added a cam to this. Who knows, maybe they will with the 2nd or 3rd generation models. As far as the size, the screen is barely 10inches, so the whole thing is probably only a foot long.

I don't have the iphone, but I do have the itouch. I like watching video podcasts and movies, so a bigger screen would be great to watch it on. However, I do think that the 16GB is too small for this. It shouldn't even be an option to get it that small. I do work for a digital company, so me and a few of my co-workers were talking today about how we would love to have this. Especially with the world leaning more and more towards supplying everything they can digitally.

Sorry for my long response :-)

I'm not convinced yet JD it just looks like a giant Ipod Touch or Iphone which is cool but there's new ground breaking OS design or really ground breaking technology. They should have marketed this toward the E-Book consumers with a $299 & $499 Price point. Funny thing is Apple stock was down $8 today with expected 2010 sales of the Ipad at roughly 1 to 5 million.

My friend had opportunity to test one of these out before it hit the market and he said that it's ok, he

wouldn't just use this as his primary computer deff/ would keep his laptop he said.

The more I look at this thing, the more I realize that it's not meant to compete with what is known to be a conventional computer. Jobs and the rest of the Apple folks have managed to create a new niche which is between the laptop and the smartphone. I won't get this device. It doesnt suit my needs. It has no USB port, no physical keyboard and I just don't travel enough to need something like this. I can however see someone getting the Ipad, someone who doesn't necessarily need all the functionalities of a laptop but still wants something bigger than an Iphone to surf on.
