Lakers Lose Nick Young (@NickSwagyPYoung) For 2 Weeks

Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young will miss at least two weeks after an MRI showed he suffered a non-displaced fracture of the patella and a bone bruise in his left knee during Wednesday night’s 119-108 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Lakers plan to call up Shawne Williams of the NBA Development League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders on a 10-day contract, a team source told ESPN LosAngeles. Williams was waived by the Lakers earlier this season.

Young, the Lakers’ second-leading scorer this season with 16.9 points per game, was hurt with 2:16 remaining in the first half when he was fouled by the Cavaliers’ C.J. Miles on a fastbreak lay-up attempt. The Lakers were up 64-44 at the time.

“I planted wrong,” Young said after the game.

Young said he “couldn’t move” on his left leg and decided to end his night early. He did not require crutches when he left Quicken Loans Arena after the game.

Young was not pleased with how Miles wrapped him up when he fouled him, causing Young to collide with the stanchion under the basket.

“They was down 30, man, they could have let me get that layup,” Young said.

The Lakers said Young will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
