Never thought I’d hear much less see the day when Christopher Cross’ timeless song “Sailing” would be sampled for Hip Hop. Kudos on pulling that off. And it can’t be coincidence that I my rant on twitter earlier today matches what you say. You’ve got issues with folk on your level and I’ve got issues with people on mine. I sometimes hate to even mention I have a blog cause the Gossip bloggers done fucked shit up on one level for entertainment bloggers like me. But the reality is as you said sex, gossip, and BS sells. And prolly more than half of the readers here will give even more traffic to Sandra, MediaTakeOut, Concrete Loop cause people are nosy that way. Sadder still, as much as I preach to black hollywood about how to work TOGETHER to get better coverage of black entertainers it falls on deaf ears. It’s all about the numbers, how many followers, how much traffic. If I complain, I’m a hater! So I’ll keep doing what I do. I never started blogging for the money or traffic, but to support what I love a lot…black movies, celebs, music, and culture. And honestly, the longer I stay in lala land, going back home to NC for good sometimes looks real promising. This entertainment game was fun, but my heart ain’t in it like it was in 2002. So sailing….take me away…soon I will be free.
