Generally I would avoid shit like this, but it’s an interesting argument so here’s my two cent. I work. live, and party in LA and some of what JD is showing you is a pics from industry parties. Partying in Hollywood ain’t like partying in South Central or Inglewood. During a major show week like the Grammy’s, errbody got an afterparty. The hosts may be black, but those coordinating the event, handling the list, aren’t usually black people. If A listers like JD, Oceans 5, or whomever are “in the building” and that building is in the heart of Hollywood, and it’s an “industry” night, the crowd is going to be mostly white, asian, hispanic, and of course some black too. These parties cater to a typical “Hollywood” scene. It ain’t like Kaya or 112 in ATL or even the Sunset Room on Tuesday nights some years ago on Sunset Blvd. It’s a predominantly non black crowd. So it ain’t that these brothers, yes I said brothers, are neglecting sisters. Fact is most of the “sistas” aren’t on the guest list or are waiting to get in. The few that are they’re just ain’t willing to put themselves out there like that. There’s a double standard and yes sometimes we worry TOO much about it especially when we are out in public. I digress!
So long story short, don’t let your eyes deceive you. A party ain’t a party til it’s run all through and just because you see the fellas with everything but a black woman, doesn’t always mean they’ve totally forgotten about us. Like most, they’re just enjoying what’s being “served” for the evening. And in Hollywood, what’s on the menu ranges from sushi to tacos to macaroni & cheese. If they’re hungry for a midnight snack, they’ll eat but when they want REAL food for the soul they’ll probably be at mamma’s or sistas from ’round da way’s house. And if they’re not, to each his own.
Damn this is gonna look long. Oh well!

Hollywood: As I Live & Work
i just got back from Vegas…. where the hell are the black ppl in Las Vegas?.. I saw two the whole day on Saturday and I was all around that city. I saw a total of maybe 15 all weekend. Maybe its because i am from ATL and I’m used to seeing black folks, but it was weird seeing so few black ppl out there. Love that town though.
