Hey JD! I’m just in from a screening of “Notorious”. It made me think of you and some of the things you mentioned in your book–especially about how close you came to being in Biggie’s car that dreaded night. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the film. And in other news, I see you’re having one of many parties celebrating the inauguration. One part of me totally understands the desire to celebrate, but on the other hand I hope we as a people don’t turn this historic event into just an excuse to get drunk and f*cked up. Just seems like the inauguration is turning into just another Freaknic and All Star Weekend. And of course, if you want to party with the A-list you must pay. Seems the true spirit of one of the most historic moments in our lifetime is being lost to our usual vices. I’m a little disappointed seeing the special day and Obama himself being pimped for endless parties all week long. I understand the hustle, but I’d rather see us striving for a higher purpose so when the party’s over we have a plan to move this country into a new era with a clear head, not a hangover. Feel me?
