Hawks Clinched The 8th Seed With Victory Over The Heat

The Eastern Conference Playoffs picture is a little clearer now. The Atlanta Hawks clinched the last spot taking care of business against the Miami Heat, 98-85. This Hawks victory eliminated the New York Knicks, who was fighting for that last spot.

The Hawks had to fight and claw to stay in contention for the playoffs. They lost their best player, Al Horford for the season in December with an injury. They went through some bad stretches in February and March, but kept it together. Jeff Teague led the way in this game with 25 points and Lou Williams scored 23 points. The Heat welcomed Dwayne Wade back in the lineup, after missing nine straight games with a sore hamstring. Wade finished with 24 points and LeBron James put in 27 points. This loss dropped the Heat back into a tie with the Indiana Pacers for the top seed in the East.
