GLOBAL14: NIGEL2FLY COMMENT

MESSAGES LIKE THIS GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AND GO HARD

Author : JAMES JOHNSON AKA Nigel2FLY

Comment:

Hey JD man what up? I’m sitting over here watching old clips of living the life,

im talking about way back around the time you taped the eye surgery. Watching

you guys on here is not only motivational, but its good to see that not

everybody is apart of the bullshit some people aim at pushing. You, Johnta,

Cox… yall actually made me look at the way I dressed myself. Yall call it

dressing down lol, Now i’m changing that up going into this new year. I’m on the

gucci site often, I’m about to buy my first peacoat EVER lol. The OCEANS7 is all

about being on your grown man, no skinny jeans, no pants down, none of that

disrespectful ignorant shit. Living the life is about working hard, having fun,

and enjoying the accomplishments you’ve worked hard to have. It’s not all about

how you dress, its living life. Not wanting a white T cause everybody in ya

neighborhood got em on everyday, but seperating yourself to be more to look at.

I appreciate yall, and wanna thank you for starting this whole movement.

Not everybody who is a lifer can afford to dress in that Oceans shit, a lot of us still live in the hood and don’t have a male figure to help us “dress” like a man and maybe you guys should take that into consideration when discussing this topic.

i love reading comments like this and i love that YOU read them all too JD- its amazing how something as simple as a thank you from a lifer can touch and motivate you in the same way that LTL motivates us.

And to Nigel2FLY-keep doing what you’re doing. keep giving people more to look at,keep LIVING THE LIFE.

Now THATS whats up!!! I love reading stuff like this from other lifers!!! I’m bout to do the same at the beginning of the year!!! Ya’ll got me looking at my shit too!!! LOL LLLL

@yaknow…you can still dress the same as the Oceans by shopping at Sears, JCPenny’s, and Macys to name a few. Hell I get a lot of my dress shirts at Wal-Mart. And once I get back on my feet, I’ll still shop at those places as well as those places that cost more for a better look. Don’t get pissed with the name brands that they wear, get your own version at the local mall. It’s seriously that simple. ;)

I saw Trey on the Soul Train Awards and while I’m no fan of his (I’m too old to care lol) I was so glad he wore pants that fit him and not draggin off his ass and wearing dress shoes, I hope this is a sign of things to come. Its funny that Kriss Kross kind of started the whole baggy pants thing (my opinion) but that it lasted for almost 20yrs, Im glad its slowly dying out..Its sad seeing 50yr old dudes with their jeans sagging.

I second what James Johnson and AnitaLTL said. It sure is nice to read stuff like that.
I’ve started slowly with the NUPOP…already got that peacoat. I already got my look I want too. It involves a tie. Girls can rock them just as fly as yall dudes. can’t wait till I get some more money and get it poppin. I might be going to “Old Slavery ” aka Old Navy to start. LOL

I definitely understand where homie is comin from. I initially started dealn wit JD because I too have a shor problem.. Me n my boys thought we were on top of our fashion shit.. Dem Ocean boys made us step our shit up even more.. Now Vegas is our second home too lol.. When JD had a post on here about how a suit shud fit it helped a lot once we hit tha clubs on the strip.. Small things matter much more than I thought.. Im almost outta school so imma step in a Tom Ford sooner than later lol.. Appreciate tha insight on how ta “live my life”

That’s what’s up!!! It ain’t what you wear, it’s how you wear it! You don’t have to be in Saks every week to get your grown man on, b/c I have been doing it for a minute! I am going to cop me some Tom Ford lens and some Ferragamo scoobys to rock w/ some $40 Levis!

Hey JD! B. Cox killed Club Level in Houston for Thanksgiving! I mean really did his thang! Ya’ll just might have a major djing team! Tell Tyrone to get his Serato game up!!! LOL

Yessssss!!! A true lifer, I miss the old lifer days!! I remember the eye surgery, the footage of you and janet at the concerts, in milan, old studio days discussing real topics! The rawness of it all with you, b.cox, and johnta, and tyrone’s real thoughts! We miss that JD!! I used to rush home to see if a new video was posted, it was on of my daily inspiration and a chance to laugh. I remember when Tyrone didn’t even have his Oceans on, just a t-shirt with a picture of a tux on it, lol. I still love Living the Life, but I feel as though it changed a bit after the Christina Milian comment, when more people started joining. Its cool though, change is necessary, but remembering the heart of it all is important too. Take us back to the good ole’ days…..I’ll be watchin!

I am very glad he sent this letter in. Coming to your site as a woman it has made me step my game up as well. My income does not afford me to purchase some items you feature, but it has made me research other less expensive, but luxe-looking items. Keep up the inspirational work!
