LIFER!!!!!! THIS A GREAT WAY TO END THE WEEK AS YOU SEE DONDRIA “YOU’RE THE ONE” IS SITTING AT # 6 ON THE RADIO CHART. ON A SAD NOTE FOR ME I’VE BEEN IN NY ALL WEEK AND THIS IS THE ONLY CITY THAT REALLY FRONTED ON THE DONDRIA MOVEMENT, CRAZY!!!!! I DON’T REALLY UNDERSTAND CAUSE THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE. BUT ANYWAY, THIS GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW HARD IT IS AND HOW TUFF PEOPLE ARE WHEN IT COMES TO BREAKING NEW ARTIST NOT TO MENTION THAT R&B GETS THE LEAST RESPECT WHEN IT COMES TO THE BUSINESS THESE DAYS. THIS SONG IS TOP 10 IN THE COUNTRY SHIT ALMOST TOP 5 AND ITS NEVER BEEN PLAYED ON HOT 97 HOW INTERESTING IS THAT?

thats why radio programmers & these corporations that own the radio stations are so full of shit. Its a damn shame because she is a talented artist and as you stated JD number don’t lie & the people want to hear it, its like that out here in L.A. too. I love Serius because they play it all, no politics or corporate bullshit. I hope she does extremely well everywhere else, & that will show them (NY radio) what time it is as far as you really didnt need them like that anyway. Good luck, continued success 2 you & Dondria
i feel you but most people pick r&b ova rap in this case ny is just sleep they will wake up soon and hot 97 isnt known for r&b i know im from new york and i am a rap artist. but dondria is a good artist i like the music im performing in bmore at the same venue as her on sunday .

It’s interesting to see despite the constant positive buzz surrounding Dondria’s song…the play time don’t reflect it…we could say numbers don’t lie….but this can’t be real…..Now, fans can see why its so important to support their favorite artists. Fill the concert venue and make radio take notice.
Everyone loves Dondria in DC Maryland And Va (DMV) like I said I was in my niece school picking her up and when all these kids come down and my niece friends come down singing you’re the one. I hear that song everyday. And when I hear someone else singing I feel special lol cause I feel as if I’m apart of this I’ve been watching her from beginning and to hear her sing and grow is amazing and to be apart of it is wow! Oceans chick for life!

Maybe the majors are calling in some favors to keep Dondria off? Remember you are now an ‘independent’ competing with the old guard, and I’m sure they don’t like it. SoSoDef is showing them how it should be done. Keep moving forward with your plan and soon they won’t be able to ignore her.

JD, NYC radio is been on some BS. I’m from ny and it gotta be some pay for play up at most of those stations….its crazy cause my sister and her friends rock hard to “your the one”..

JD, its easy NYC has lost the edge in bringing out alot of new talent like how they used to in the 80-90′s, The south has been on a roll for the past few years in Hip Hop, Rap and Rnb singers. Its simple them New York stations are hating. If she was outta the bronx or brooklyn she would got 100 spins a day. Them cats up there look out for them selves. They wont spin it now but eventually they wont be able to deny “Your the one”.
Hot 97 is full of shyt they will play beyakis all day & everyday but they wont play Dondria music! Anyways who cares about them as long as her fans support her Dondria is good to go forward!!!
You know this business more than I do…But isn’t pay for play? certain radio stations are givin out $1000 an hr during peak hours, I bet if that was your 150 stacks a month she would be @ #1 its sad cuz i was really feelin that song/and Dondria.
You know something, that shapes peoples’ mentality b/c i dont hear the song on the radio so in my mind i didnt think the song was hot. JD..you should have just dropped that record during your DJ set when you were in NYC!! I know you don’t play many of your own records but still. I would have done it just to rile up some folks. Everybody who was anybody was at the HIP HOP Honors show and i’m sure Radio people were there as well.Its a SHAME that a big market like NYC is NOT PLAYING a banging record!

JD i agree on u on why u dont understand y Dondria sitting on number 6 because thatz all they play on the radio because i dont understnd either like up here in the DMV area on WPGC 95.5 thatz all the play on the radio is Alici Keys, Usher, Dondria, and Ludacris back to back and i would understand if she was at least number 2 but she not and i dont get y she even number 6 because they dont even play Drake, or DK Khaled, or Young Jeezy on WPGC 95.5 at all like that up here so i dont even understand…..if it was up to me Dondria be number 1 and she be triple platnium without her CD not even out yet
OK Let’s keep it real on here. It’s a lot of politics in the radio game. I know it looks like JD has been the one running around getting Dondria’s record played on radio, but he alone couldn’t get all of those spins. There is a guy a Maleco that is one of the best radio guys in the country working that Dondria record. Besides that when you are independent you have to put up that budget for radio!! That’s right people 5 stacks here 10 stacks their to make it pop. That money might be long enough to reach smaller market stations but NY is market #1…. Compare that to market #7 which is Atlanta. Now lets do some homework lifers, pull up your BDS and Media base reports and look at the spins and which markets the record is spinning, it will give you a better picture.
Those other artist yall are naming are on MAJOR labels and those MAJOR labels have already played for X amount of spins on X amount of songs. You can’t compare the performance of an artist on a Major to one on an independent. The good part about being independent is when the album comes out you will get a bigger cut, but radio in major markets might be one of the draw backs.

Hey JD , I live in a city where the program director of the hip hop station also does the morning show and he is biased against some artist and he flat out will not play them. I have never heard Dondria on that station. He also will not play Janet’s records and ‘Nothing’ has never been played here either. He has made it very clear that he just doesn’t like Janet and won’t play her records at all. I don’t think that’s right.

I just stick with my iPod but I like Dondrias music. Hot 97 is not poppin like it used 2 be in the 90s & don’t mention power 105 they str8 up suck ass!!!
