JD just like you, i too am with President O and the change revolution….but question I beg to answer is at what cause will this change come about? who gains to benefit from this change and who stands to get the short end of the stick? I commute via public transporation daily and it sickens me of the people being afffected by the economy. Don’t get me wrong, I am well aware that Pres. Obama isn’t to blame, but he needs to start being more upfront with us as far as his strategies and what is going to be done about the suffering. I am not from the hood so to speak, but I still see the struggle within the middle class. I will love to lend a helping hand and do my share to help out the people in my community, but I need help getting started. I will love to open some small businesses to provide employment for those without jobs, but even with that, no one’s willing to give me a business loan. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? Anyway, thanks for the website. I think it serves as a great community center for us to have great discussions as such and vent our fustrations. Shit is really real. I see it everyday, I work on the Southside of Chi, CPS(chicago public schools) it’s sad sometimes, my school is so overcrowded this year they had to make the new freshman start first period 2 hours later just so everyone can fit in the school and lunch rooms, some students lunch period is at 9:10 would you want your kid to eat LUNCH at 9 in the morning!? its crazy, the hallways are overcrowded i literally rub shoulders with students just to get to my next class, I hear students in the hall get frustrated an say shit like “damn its too muthafuckin crowded in here” or “quit steppin on my fuckin shoe”, I can’t blame them cuz i feel the exact same way. fights break out all of the time, there’s never been so many students on free lunch at our school as this year, boys at our school aren’t allowed to wear earrings because of gang shit, too many CPS students got shot this year, i forget what the count is but it’s sad. the number of homless students at our school has never been so high, shit is def. real out here.
I think Obama knows how real it is out here and if anyone can help us, it’s him. I read his book “Dreams from my Father” and I realized how real of a dude Obama is. He watched his own family struggle as a kid, before he went to Harvard he was all over Chicago doing community work for pennies, helping people in the projects who nobody would listen to, he went to meetings where there would only be 5 people there but he would still go an do his work. Dude just became smarter and more powerful and is using all of his skills to help people, our people, the people who Bush an his dad didn’t give a fuck about, he is literally trying to change all of the shit that Bush did to our country. Bush an them theory is “give the rich tax breaks and the money will trickle down” psssht yeah right, Obama is giving the money right back to the people who need it most, I Love him. I feel Blessed that he is our president.

When you put money back into the economy it comes back in a domino effect. If your business has no money and you sit on it BROKE you wont make any money but if you spend money in a fruitful way it will come back whether it was an investment or the lord brought it back in another fashion but its coming back. You just have to stay positive. So maybe everyone should look at it like that. Hey man! Now more than ever I feel like my dreams are becoming a reality! Some may say I came in the Music Industry @ a bad time or a little too late But I dont think so. Im broke as shit and It’s all good though because I am happy with my achievements. The Lord is giving us blessings the question is “Are you Happy?” I will give when I have. It’s gonna come back and it simply feels good when your not worried about your financial state. That’s what we need to learn as a nation that Obama is teaching people just GIVE and know that when you give you receive. Barack knows whats going on but he is not the cause of the recession its going to take a lot to get the economy back together and its going to take more than just a bailout. Things have to improve in every sector. If no one is buying cars then someone is not working somewhere. Killing someone is not going to change anything and commiting suicide is not going to change anyone but hurt someone who cares. We as people have to help one another out, either it’s lending a hand in need donating clothes or whatever we can. Maybe the prices of items need to come down like the prices of homes.
Im not sure what has to happen but I dont think Barack is the only answer, he is hope in this dark situation . Americans arent spending money and thats it. If Barack can get jobs back into America that will help and we as a country start spending then these companies wont close down. My younger brother is going into his junior year next year and my baby brother is going to the tenth grade. My mom is a school teacher so that’s blah but my daddy makes good money. He works in the oil industry. This is the most that I’ve seen my parents struggle (that I can remember) in my 22 years of life. It’s to the point where my parent are threatening about finishes school. My daddy is sort of rolling with the punches but my mama is really starting to bitch and nag. At first I was like she’s just tripping, but now I understand. As I approach graduation, I’m terribled that I would be able t get a job. So I’m on the verge of giving up. It’s actually sickening to think that when I walk across the stage, I won’t have a damn job lined up. UGH, this is a relief. random. lol…. Anyway…. And yeah, you’re right, folks are dying left and right. It’s scary! I just hope Barack it taking everything a step at a time and is prioritizing….. I have seen the white hoods and then came back home to my hood in NY. There is a big difference. The guy who was talking about the police jobs being cut, thats a white hood problem. The problems in the black hoods are 20 times as worst. It’s so bad that I think it’s fucking up peoples motivation. The motivation of the strong black people in the hood is dead. There are no more public speakers coming, no more politicians visiting, Job fairs, none of that. There is basically no one trying to help. So all the people in the hood are just sitting home trying to keep a roof over their head. The white hoods have the roof and they fall into trying to pay a mortgage rather then the black hoods where there trying to pay rent. A mortgage may be harder to pay but with rent its easier to get kicked out.
It’s the motivation that people were giving the black hoods that let some people wake up and try to become something. Now that their is no motivation there is no more “Lets find a better solution”.

I was in Vegas in January aand had my $750 peacoat stolen (with my iphone in the pocket)..FROM A BOWLING ALLEY at a brand new casino while i was bowling with my fam. Times are getting hard and it’s sad. I dont recall ever being robbed in my entire life. I was too through. People need to get involved. The heads at AIG gave the money back because the people expressed their anger. The money is there, it’s just that no one is speaking up to the extent that will cause a change. If ya’ll voted him in, then ya’ll need to keep him on point. Well I believe that President Obama do know what is going on around the world and in the hood too,period. I think that since God chose him for this job, just like he did Moses, Abraham, Ruth, Sarah, Esther and etc, and I do believe that since he has a relationship with God, God is going to lead him in the right direction. But truly it is time for us all to gravitate to God and seek his face and know that he is God and he is the one who controls everything. Just because things seem to be going crazy, doesn’t mean that God is going to forget about us. We as people in general should be prayed up at all time and have faith. It’s sad that someone actually made the comment that this is an April fools joke!! This is real and if we don’t all get real about the situation, it’s bound to get worse. I stay in constant prayer for President Obama and that he guides us in the right direction. What really pisses me off about all of this unrest in our country is that no one mentions Bush’s name any more. He created this MESS and now President Obama is left to be the clean up man. Where I’m from there’s always been people trying to get rich or die tryin but the mentality now it’s eat or die tryin. It’s bad out here. If the common everyday people aren’t making money than we’re not spending. Portfolios are losing liquidity and companies are colapsing. Those of us that have jobs worry on a daily if we’ll walk into a corporate announcement saying that our jobs are no more. In the hood too many have spare time on their hands and not enough money to make it. It’s like this all over. Home invasions, bank robberies and murder are just a few of the most popular headlines in the media. These were common occurences in the hood before but now it’s amplified by 100 and it’s grimey. It’s going to take a joint effort. The ignorance must cease and pride in who we are as a people must begin. We have to come together and help each other like back in the day. Back when if you needed a cup of sugar or a couple of eggs you go to your neighbor. We have to start loving each other and be happy for OUR accomplishments. I was hollering at one of my O.G.’S a few summer’s ago and it was the first week of summer. And the first thing we said was at least nobody had gotten smoked yet, but then the Big Homie remembered that somebody who didn’t bang got killed on 104th and Crenshaw( The Bottoms). We do everything from Dignitary and Celebrity Protection to having guards at Residential and Commercial properties. We are a minority owned business and security jobs are booming for us because of the times! We have worked with People from Jordan Sparks to Rick Ross and Winky Wright. But its the Major CEO’s that are beefing up there security the most. We are currently doing so much Private Protection for them because they are so scared of what’s going on with Robbing and kidnappings for ransoms of family’s. They have beefed up security at their businesses from employees and opportunist stealing. Also ; because we are minority owned, people are looking for minority owned companys just because of the Barack Factor and they don’t wanna seem like there not with the cause! From the hood perspective we have been doing a lot of Lost Prevention in
Malls and department stores which is basically non uniformed guards watching and protecting merchandise. We are always told what to watch for and always a Black Female with children or Black person with dingy looking clothes! Dead Serious! Its crazy. JD you hit the nail right on the head. The streets are gonna be so hot this summer, I can remember when I lived in ATL the summer of 2002 right after 9-11 niggas was robbing armed trucks and just killing all over the place. Its not gonna be safe this summer in the hood at all. All these bail outs are going to people who all ready have money and I’m not mad that they have money but if you can’t produce a product that people want the you fail its that simple. The schools in the inner city need a bail out. College graduates with them sick loan payments need a bail out. The people elected the President and I understand politics but if Barak wants a second term in office he needs to help those who helped him and his administration. History will be truly made if Obama is a 2 term president and he turns this country around
