I think that johnta austin is a very talented songwriter- probably one of the most successful in the game, but it seems as though he jus can’t break into the industry as an artist.And with all these writers and producers putting out albums (Keri hilson,The Dream on his second,Ryan Leslie, ect),Austin has to feel some kind of way suffering from the Sean Garrett syndrome.Ocean Drive has songs leaking left and right,but seems as though it will never see the light of day.His material isn’t bad,and his voice isn’t half bad either…so why can’t johnta catch on – CONCRETELOOP.COM
I CREATED GLOBAL14 FOR THIS ONE REASON IF YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT ME AND MY ARTIST THIS IS WHERE YOU GONNA GET YOUR ANSWERS. I WAS OVER ON CONCRETELOOP TODAY AND I CAME ACROSS THIS POST. IT’S VERY INTERESTING CAUSE IN THIS POST THEY LEFT OUT SO MUCH KEY INFORMATION IT MAKES ME WONDER DO BLOGGERS CARE IF YALL REALLY KNOW WHATS GOING ON? IF YOUR A LIFER THEN YOU KNOW THAT I LEFT DEF JAM AND I TOOK DONDRIA AND JOHNTA WITH ME. IN THE MIST OF THAT JOHNTA AND I WENT BACK IN THE STUDIO AND STARTED CREATING A NEW ALBUM IN-TITLED LOVE, SEX AND RELIGION. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I’VE BEEN GIVEN YOU SONGS FROM THE OLD ALBUM TO GET PEOPLE THAT DON’T KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT HIM UP ON WHERE WERE GOING. THE DELAY WITH JOHNTA COMING OUT HAS NOTHING TO WITH HIM NOT BEING ABLE TO CATCH ON. IT’S MORE ABOUT ME LEAVING DEF JAM AND FINDING A HOME FOR HIS MUSIC WHERE PEOPLE REALLY CARE. IT WON’T BE LONG SO GET READY!!!!!!!!
I was excited to see CL even mention Johnta because this site is nothing but positive. Now if it was on SR, Bossip or any of those other BS sites it would be a different story. CL always brings you new music that did not make the cut or that leaked from some ones project. I totally agree with Johnta being very talented and I CAN NOT WAIT to see what he has to offer. I constantly post his music on my FB page to introduce him to others cause I want him to do well when his shit drops. To be honest its not much to get excited about in the music industry anymore. We have a few female artist we get excited about but the males have fallen off. Usher didn’t do so well this go round but there were a few cuts on there I still JAM to this day. Neo is kewl but he does’t have the swagger like Usher and Johnta. Not hating cause i like dudes music but hate to see him perform. Chris fucked his own shit up. We need another male artist thats going to bring the shit and do it right and i think Johnta can fill those shoes. Keep us posted man. Enjoying Global14 on a daily!!!!!!!!!
There are definitely bloggers out there that love to hate cuz it makes for an interesting blog that other haters want to read. The world is full of them! I didn’t take this particular blog as that negative but more like misinformed. The problem is the songwriters do not get as much credit as they deserve so when they transition to a more public view the viewing public has no clue cuz the average consumer does not research. This is why it is so important for artists and those that are promoting artists to get the word out. I have known that Johnta is a spectacular talent but over the years I have wondered where was his voice on my radio at times (u know I have issues with commercial radio these days). I had to find you so that I could be informed. Keep doing what yall do! I’m loving it!

JD I think that Johnta is catching on. I love his style. I feel that he will have his monment. Everyone has there time to shine and he is on his way to that. Now I can’t speak for other but, I do care about certain issuse and I do try to speak on them.
Johnta is a great singer, songwriter. I actually have a copy of Ocean Drive and I LOVE it. And, love Trey’s version of “I Need A Girl.” whoever ain’t up on Johnta is seriously outta the loop. Cannot wait to cop Johnta’s and Dondria’s cd. Hurry up and drop please!!!
As an executive isn’t your job to make sure you have a team of individuals that informs the media of your artists like Johnta?
I think Johnta is hot. but i think the problem is there is not a demand for talent anymore with the internet and 106 and park the young kids have taken over and they getting what they wanna played on the radio and the video shows. Old heads like me don’t have the time to call the radio stations and request songs cause we gotta make a living. I don’t even listen to the radio no more cause it’s b.s. and all the artists out now are conforming to the radio format and getting away from real music. I find myself asking what happened to real music they don’t even play slow music in the club no more aint that a bitch. Artists like johnta are appealing to the mature audience but we are drastically out numbered
honestly, some bloggers dont care. AND some people who run blogs sites dont know 2 shits about music. some just started listening to jadakiss. i mean there needs to be a foundation to the shit. if not… then just focus on celebrity gossip. anyone can talk shit about someone. but when it comes to music… it hink blogger forget its more than hitting a red carpet and posing in pics with like … celebs (i was gonna take a shot at someone, but i wont). people cosign bullshit for the sake of a fucking photo-op or to share a drink. and thats the damn problem.

johnta’s time will come. What happened to Maestro, that kids got some sick talent. He’s looking older now which will help a lot. Can we expect anything from him soon? maybe a Maestro Dondria collaboration? That would be hot.
I honestly don’t think the blog was being disrespectful in any way. You have to understand that the general public can only comment on what they see and/or hear and a bloggers purpose is to provide further detail on a situation regardless of if they have actual proof. Your job (no disrespect at all) is to make sure that the public know enough to be able to form balanced opinions. Now you’ve cleared it up, any further misconceptions can hopefully be avoided.
I do also agree with some of the other comments in that people like yourself need to take back the reigns of the industry as the new youth culture and taste for music is getting slightly out of hand. Johnta is an incredible artist and it’s people like him that make me stick with my music and striving to better myself as best i can so that i can one day work as professionally as yourselves, however, its becoming increasingly difficult to appreciate these TRUE artists as we’re bombarded with “fad’s”.
I do have a question
. With your split from Def Jam are you more open to listening and SEARCHING for new acts. I often feel that people in your power discover “easy targets” meaning those of us who are lucky enough to live in popular cities, have some crazy story thats brought them to your attention etc. I remember you saying in a video regarding Bow Wow that you are looking for someone with the same work ethic and determination as him, i honestly think you have more chance of finding these people in smaller areas where opportunities such as Dondria’s are only dreamed of.
Anyway i don’t want to ramble on for too long as its my first post on the site. I hope your not given the wrong impressions by this message at all. I’m just a british artist looking at the whole US music industry from an outside point of view wondering if there are ever chances for people like myself to realistically get involved at that level. I know there are thousands of people like me having the same thoughts and that no matter what are still continuing to better themselves, learn and enjoy working in the industry.
Johnta is an amazing artist and i’ve respected him for a long time. I am looking forward to his album (hopefully i can get it in the UK) and i wish you guys luck with everything your doing/ have done for this business. Nothing but love and respect.

I honestly believe Johnta is a very talented singer song writer, Love every song he has written for other artist and even for himself. At the same time, greatness cannot be rushed, so I strongly believe that when his album is released it will be out of this world amazing! We are all waiting patiently and I will be sure to be first in line to get his album once its released! Keep doing you Johnta! You already great!
J.D why don’t you release the Johnta Album independently? To me todays record label companies are going extinct because they are no longer needed…. You have created enough outlets to promote your artist projects through the internet, using youtube, and global 14.

Most bloggers write to get a response, there is no integrity involved or a diehard effort to keep the facts straight, which is one of the rules of reporting.
I know I love Johnta as an artist and songwriter, so all this ‘can’t catch a break as an artist’ talk just sounds like someone out of the loop (pun intended, I stopped visiting that site 2 years ago). An artist is an artist label or not.
I agree with the independent route if that’s even an option. I don’t know all the details with the labels these days but JD should be able to do whatever the hell he wants at this stage in the game. That’s how you know something ain’t right.

I don’t agree with what concrete loop posted about Johnta, but I don’t think they are even worth an argument. I personally hate all these gossip sites that drink their HATER-AIDE every morning. And they are all the same – every site has the same ish & gossip. I personally adore Johnta and think he is super talented. Ne-Yo was writing for YEARS…. but growing up he always wanted to perform. (I know pesonally, I grew up with him)…Just so happened – writing and producing paid the bills. And Johnta has a plus – he has major personality & thanks to JD1472 & Global14 we lifers can all se that. People actually got to know a little more about Johnta. No one knew who The DREAM, KERI HILSON, or RYAN LESLIE was unless you deeply followed music like that, they don’t have that swag…..Johnta does tho!!! And who cares???? Ive always loved his music from turn it up{before it was atl} to “dope fiend” to his more reent music like “take it back”{thanx for posting that}!Ive been waitin for johnta’s break to come for years…and its funny because everytime i hear a new song i wonder why this man aint got a record deal yet…but i know his break has to be coming because he is one few GOOD r&b artist left…..
