Bobby Shmurda Called Hot 97 This Morning From Jail

This morning on the Hot 97 Morning Show it looked like we were going to get answers from Bobby Shmurda about his arrest and what happened that fateful night in the studio, but things didn’t go as planned.

Two minutes into his interview, the telephone line cut off and Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez were left on the radio with a lot of questions and hopes that Shmurda would call back in, but he didn’t. But, while they were on the phone we found out a few things about his time in the clink.

For starters, Bobby Shmurda has spent the majority of his time behind bars with his friend and crew member Rowdy Rebel, but Rowdy has gone to solitary confinement and now Bobby is in protective custody due to an altercation that they had with someone. As for the stories surrounding his arrest, he said the following:

“What they hearing about that night, that s**t is not true. The cops been out for me for forever man, they been trying to slay me for forever, but they never catch me with nothin’. It might be, like, four or five cops that night that just grabbed me up. They told me, ‘I don’t want my kids listening to your music,’ this and that…” and then the phone cut off.

It was good to hear Bobby Shmurda in good spirits, but with the abrupt ending of the interview, more questions surrounding his arrest have risen regarding whether or not there was truly an arsenal of guns in the studio, if the alleged arsenal belonged to him and his crew and whether or not the NYPD has really been after Bobby because of his music or if the issues go beyond the fame.

In the meantime, Shmurda is trying to get out of his deal with Epic Records and has said that if he can’t, he’ll give them the music he owes them and be done with it.
