The BET Awards drew 7.6 million total viewers on Sunday evening, making it the No. 1 awards show on cable among adults in the advertiser-coveted 18 to 49 demo, according to the network.
The awards mark the second-highest rated BET Awards telecast of all time, ranking behind the 2009 edition, which became a tribute to Michael Jackson who died three days before the show. Sunday night’s post-show also grabbed the same ranking, and was the No. 1 late night cable telecast for the season among adults 18 to 49.
The show accounted for 51 percent of all social chatter, including nearly 10 million tweets, according to BET.
