Apple TV To Add CBS & NBC To Launch Apps

THIS IS CRAZY

Apple TV finally has a release date and it looks like the company will be launching the product next week. CEO Tim Cook revealed the news earlier today in a WSJD Live event saying that Apple will start taking orders on Monday so they could ship by the end of the week.

Out of the box, Apple TV will contain many apps, including two that may come as a surprise. CBS and NBC are joining the regime, but not in the way you think just yet. You will need a cable subscription to use NBC and CBS will only be able to accessed through their own subscription service CBS All Access. Though Apple has postponed their Online TV aspirations for cord cutters until 2016 (they’re still negotiation deals with content providers), this might be one step closer to the holy grail to compete with Sling TV.

Apple TV will be available for $149 for a 32GB model and $199 for the 64GB version.
