Brockton’s Lil’ Poopy back at it in “The Rap Game” on Lifetime By Marc Larocque

  • BROCKTON – The notorious 12-year-old Brockton rapper Lil’ Poopy is about to hit national television for a new show on Lifetime, according to the channel’s website.

Luis Rivera Jr., known better by his rapper name Lil’ Poopy, is set to be featured on “The Rap Game” on Lifetime starting Jan. 1 next year.

Pictures of Lil Poopy are flying around social media showing the Brockton boy with famous rap producer Jermaine Dupri, who is working as the mentor on the show for five artists between ages 12 and 16, all vying for a record contract with his label So So Def Recordings.

The Lifetime channel refers to some of the racy music videos that put Lil’ Poopy at the center of attention nearly four years ago, as parents across the nation expressed alarm, calling the clips sexually suggestive and heavy on drug references. His father Luis Rivera Sr. was accused and then cleared of child neglect and abuse allegations in 2013.

“The youngest in the group, Lil’ Poopy has made over 200 videos, writes his own songs and has performed with Puff Daddy, Rick Ross and French Montana,” the Lifetime channel states on the website for the show. “His father and mentor, Luis Rivera, Sr. will do anything to see his son rise to the top – including hiring the hottest models and renting out Ferraris for his son’s music videos.”

Queen Latifah is an executive producer for “The Rap Game,” according to the Lifetime website. Lifetime said that special guests will be featured each week during the series, including huge hip hop stars like Usher, Ludacris, Da Brat, T.I. and Silentó, to help Dupris as he takes the young performers under his wing.

The show is scheduled to first air on New Year’s Day at 10 p.m.
