As per the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, “hoverboards” are now illegal to ride in public in Britain. Bad news for guys like Justin Bieber, Ty Dolla $ignand Wiz Khalifa, who have been seen enjoying the device of late. According to the new decree, hoverboards like those from Hovertrax – selling for upward of $1,000 – are too unreliable to ride on the road, but also too dangerous to ride on the pavement, and therefore only legal to use on private property. The police even blasted hoverboards on Twitter. So next time you’re heading to Soho for the latest Supreme drop, you’re best advised to take the tube.
