Nike Records $30.6bn Revenue for Fiscal 2015

Sportswear leviathan Nike’s reports for fiscal year 2015 are in, and unsurprisingly the brand has made an absolutely colossal amount of money. NKE INC (That’s Nike’s corporation, which includes Converse and Hurley) recorded a $30.6bn revenue – up 10% from previous years – while the Nike brand itself made a total of $28.7bn, up 14%. Nike’s “Demand Creation” (i.e. marketing) budget was a whopping $3.2bn – higher than the GDPs of some small third world countries, and industry expert Matt Powell estimates that the brand sold 350 million pairs of shoes this year. That’s 1.09 pairs of Nikes for every person in the United States.

Given how corporations of Nike’s size strive to add just 1% to their bottom line, a 10% increase in revenue across the board is an insanely strong result
