Kyle Korver out for the remainder of the playoffs

Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver left Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday with a sprained ankle. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the playoffs and it is unclear at this time whether or not the ailment will require surgery.

On May 22, Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN.com noted that Korver exited the game with what was ruled a right ankle sprain. Arnovitz also reported that X-rays on the guard’s ankle were negative.

Atlanta was down double digits to Cleveland when the injury occurred and was well on its way to a 2-0 series deficit.

Korver shot a blistering 49.2 percent from three-point range this season and was the best floor-spacer on the team. It is difficult to envision Atlanta coming back in this series against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers without Korver, who played a critical role on the team this season, performing at a level that warranted an all-star selection.
