If you’re looking forward to a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch then it’s likely you’re either undisappointable, or missed the fight on Saturday. Regardless of your position, it looks like Floyd is no longer eyeballing a second meeting, telling Jim Gray that his vanquished foe is a “sore loser” and a “coward” for not owning up to losing, instead opting to blame a technicality like a torn rotator cuff.
When asked if he sensed anything wrong with Pacquiao during the bout, Mayweather said:
“Absolutely not. He was fast. His left hand was fast. His right hand was fast and he was throwing them both fast and strong. Excuses, excuses, excuses. I’m not going to buy into the bullshit… and I don’t want the public to buy into the bullshit. He lost. He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this.”
Then he moved onto the subject of a rematch, something he was all for just a day or two ago:
“Did I text Stephen A. Smith and say I will fight him again? Yeah, but I change my mind. At this particular time, no, because he’s a sore loser and he’s a coward… If you lost, accept the loss and say, ‘Mayweather, you were the better fighter.’”
